we're not going 'til august but our 90 day window will be here before i know it... trying to do a rough outline of what/where/when in my head but i think it's time to put it on "paper"

we'll be at disney from sunday to saturday... presumably starting w/magic kingdom (although i'd prefer to avoid it on a sunday as i have heard it's most crowded, but i doubt i can convince the kids to go to any other park our first day!) and depending on hours, working our way around the world... of course, hours won't be released 'til about 45 days before travel, which makes ps planning a bit difficult... sigh...

anyway, here's what i'm thinking...

sunday... MK... brunch at cp... skip lunch... dinner at ltt (is ltt a character meal at dinner?)

monday... MGM... quick breakfast at resort... lunch at sci fi... dinner counter service... maybe DQuest...

tuesday... TL... breakfast at 1900 park fair... skip lunch... dinner at HDDR...

wednesday... Epcot... quick snack at resort... brunch or lunch at Princess Storybook... dinner at Garden Grill (late)

thursday... AK... brunch at donald's... skip lunch... dinner at Boma (we check in to ALK that day!)

friday... park undetermined, probably MK/Epcot... breakfast?... lunch?... dinner possibly at jiko (this is in AKL, right?) w/kids at simbas kids' club...

saturday... check out day... breakfast at Boma... lunch?... dinner at airport...

what am i missing? too many or not enough character meals... i think we see all the main characters this way (mickey/donald/pooh/princesses)... any suggestions, changes, ideas?

thanks!

Liberty Tree Tavern is a character meal and a very good one. You might want to think about doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package - summer months are really crowded for Fantasmic and I love doing the FDP and not worrying about getting seats.

Don't worry, if you are anything like me you'll change your mind a thousand times. I don't know what ages your kids are but you might want to consider booking a Pirate Cruise, Wonderland Tea Party or Grand Adventures in Cooking. The kids love it and its a nice break for you. Have fun.

I guess I didn't read well enough- I see your kids are 10 and 8. They would probably like the Pirate Cruise best.

we had reserved for the pirate cruise last year but got "hurricaned" out... this year we will be doing two days at universal and one at discovery cove... they know that's "it" for extras... plus we're doing the airboat ride at the end of our trip... so pirate cruise got erased (plus since last year ds had a near-fatal allergic reaction to treenuts/peanuts and they serve pb&j and i just don't trust anyone to keep him safe, kwim?)

we also did fantasmic last year (w/the dinner package) so we'll probably skip it this year and instead hit DQ!

Make sure to go to Margaritaville at Universal. It's our all time favorite US/IOA restaurant!

will do! it's on the top of dh's list (he's a parrothead)!

any other universal dining recommendations? we're planning to do a character meal (breakfast, i think) there as well, plus possibly the luau... we were considering the pirate adventure dinner or the dixie stampede (both off-site) but based on some really bad reviews, we decided to skip 'em...

My kids loved the Cat in the Hat character meal - they especially loved the Grinch and SPiderman. We didn't do the luau because my kids are young and I think it would be too long and too expensive. One restaurant we found by accident in Universal and loved was Finnegans. It's and Irish pub type and it had good food reasonably price (for Disney and Universal standards). Of course the kids like going to the Hard Rock Cafe always. We are also doing a few days at Universal after Disney. We're staying at Hard Rock. THe one good thing about Universal is you are allowed (and encouraged!) to pool hop. Have a great trip.
