Anybody have any pictures of the Butterfly House?

I never heard of this!!

I have to share my excitement (sorry!). 20 days until POR!!! Woohoo! :)

I mentioned this to another imminent POR traveller too, but could you maybe confirm the current drinks selection for the refillable mugs in the food court? (Especially, do they now feature Apple Juice?). Thanks, and have a great time!

Andre...

Best I can recall from our June trip, the mug selections were the typical soda, coffee, and hot chocolate. They did sell Minute Maid Apple Juice and a Cran Apple mix out of the cooler. I believe that was a 20 oz. bottle. We would often grab a bottle with our DDP meal to stow for later, and then bring the mug to actually use with our breakfast/lunch.

21 for me :yay:

We'll be there at the same time! I don't remember if I've run into anyone else on here that is at POR the same dates as myself. Very cool! :thumbsup2 I'll be the crazy woman living it up without any kids in tow! Woohoo! :rotfl2:

57 Days for me till wdw at POR for 14 nights

Just wondering if any one can tell me whether you get a fridge in Por rooms and what size they are ??:confused3 :thumbsup2

26 days for me - arrive 19th Aug.

Yes, you get a small fridge at POR. Plenty of room for cartons of milk, cans of beer, etc.

Andre

Wow lots of us have trips very soon, we're there from 14th to 28th August so may bump into some of you :goodvibes

2 days for me :cutie:

Just noticed your tag. How wonderful for you! My youngest sister was a CM years ago, and has many fond memories. Personally I'd love to be in Epcot too - it's my favorite - we always visit twice. I can't hear the Illuminations music without tearing up. Best wishes!!!! pixiedust:

Quick question about the POR pools -
How are the pool bottoms? I know some pools have rough bottoms that tend to scratch up little feet, toes, knees, etc.
Will I need to bring water shoes for the little guys, or will they be okay barefoot in the pools?

I submitted a question about the butterfly garden & here is the response posted in the newsletter:

Q. Hi. I just read in your newsletter about the butterfly garden behind the Acadian House at Port Orleans Riverside. I have never seen this mentioned before. Can you tell me more about it? I will be staying here for the first time next month with my two sons and we all are looking forward to our stay! Thank you. (Submitted by J. Corbin)

A. The talented gardeners at Port Orleans Riverside designed the garden behind Acadian House to attract butterflies. This means that they chose plants that produce nectar (that butterflies can drink) and plants with specific foliage (that attract egg-laying butterflies and that caterpillars can eat). The garden also has woody plants for shelter during bad weather and for roosting or sleeping. A water source is also present. The garden is tucked behind the Acadian House to give the butterflies a low-traffic area protected from the wind.

Since you are staying at Port Orleans Riverside, a stroll over to check out this garden could be a nice diversion during your downtime at the resort. I don't think I would try to fit this into my Disney itinerary if I were not staying at Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter, but it is one of the special touches that Disney adds to its resorts; one of those little-known secrets that make a visit special. Have a wonderful vacation!
