Hi everyone,

We leave for Disney in 20 days  and are staying at POR Riverside. I requested AB when I booked. My questions to all you experts are:
What building is best in AB? We probably want to be close to the buses and close to the main pool.
We have a standard view room, because of a code that we used, once we arrive at PORR can I request a preferred room and pay the differance? Do you think they will allow this?

Thanks
Fran

In AB try for buildings 14, 15 and 18. These are closest to bussing, pool and dining. See the resort map here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/port-riverside.htm

Sorry, I can't answer the second part about the upgrade, however, it won't hurt to ask. In my opinion though, the cost isn't really worth it. Water view at POR can mean anything from the Sassagoula River to the main pool or even a quiet pool. The room itself won't be any different. :surfweb:

We will be staying at POR from 9/20-9/26. I can't wait! Thank you for this informative thread!:cool1:

We will be arriving at around 7 AM on Saturday, June 7. I realize our room won't be ready at that early hour, but can we "pre" check in, get our resort ID's so we don't have to pay for parking at the parks and maybe use the resort pool while waiting for our room? :confused3

I think you can check in and get any tickets etc and you go back after 3pm and get your room number.

I'm staying at POR in May. I want the AB section. We will most likely use the quiet pools. I would like to try and get a river view, not paying for it (so I know I may end up with parking lot). I definately want a quiet woodsy area. I was looking at the map, maybe building 27. I know 14 is close also but I'm guessing would have more traffic. any suggestions? thanks

can anyone tell me if there are Coffee makers in the room?? TIA :)

Yes 4 cup coffee makers, refrigerators, iron and ironing bords and safe. Nice rooms, we stayed in AB in October Bldg 15 and it was great. Stayed in the mansion in November and they were nice too.

We are thinking about a split stay. Coming in to POR first and then moving over to SSR. I was wondering I know that we would use ME to get from the airport, but what about when we change resorts. Do you take the bus and cart our own luggage or is that a service provided to move the luggage for you?
Thanks!

Building 18 would probably be a good bet, or you could try for 38 as well allthough it is a bit farther. :surfweb:

Three crazy questions: The answers might be buried here somewhere, but I can't seem to find them. :)

Can anyone tell me if there are lockers near the pools at POR? And if so, are they big enough to hold a carry-on?

Can you buy character lanyards (with the plastic id holder) for KTTW cards at the general store?

Can I get refills on my resort mug at anytime (say, at 2 am if I'm thirsty?).

A big thank you to all the POR pros on here!! :thumbsup2

You can either bring your luggage to bell services or have them pick it up. Be aware though that if you check out in the morning, your room at SSR may not be ready until after 3pm. A lot of people prefer to take their luggage with them in their own vehicle (that is, if you've driven), that way their luggage is available during the day in case they need something. :surfweb:

There are lockers at the pool, probably big enough for a bag but not sure.

Lanyards are normally available at the store (esp for pin traders) but stock and ranges do change of course.

Mug refills are normally available 24 hours, but there will be periods when they are restocking/cleaning the machines - although they usually only do one side at a time.

Thanks, I guess I will keep out a few things incase that happens. We are not driving so I won't have the options of bringing it myself.
