Do you usually get your requests? We are just a couple, (just 60), and would like the Mansions. Is there much benefit going for Water view. We have stayed at POFQ twice, and there is no real benefit in paying for a water view. Thanks.
We stayed in the mansions back when it was just DH and I. We didn't pay for a water view and didn't get one. But I wouldn't pay for the view. I don't think it's worth it with just windows and no balconies. Just my personal opinion.

I have a question about Port Orleans Riverside...I thought I heard that all of the moderates have fridges now. I know that CSR rooms do, but do all of the POR rooms?
Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

I just found the answer to my own question, in case anyone else is wondering, all of the miderates have fridges in the rooms! :) :thumbsup2

 :woohoo: :cheer2:

I just noticed that the buildings I had hoped for to get room are also marked as "smoking area". Does it mean that all the rooms in that building are smoking-rooms?

we are non-smokers and I prefer to get a non-smoking room. is it better to ask such a building that are not marked as smoking areas?

Maybe those where former smoking rooms, because now all rooms at Disney resort hotels are non-smoking.

thanks for the info. :goodvibes

anybody stayed in a building that is beside the smoking area? is it disturbing?

We just returned from POR and the only smoking area we noticed was near our quiet pool (I'm sure there are others but just didn't notice them). There was a bench and ash tray (and a sign) near the towel return area. The only thing disturbing was when someone moved the ash tray near the tables and lounges and was smoking there. We just moved it back when they left.

I have heard that if you time it right you can see illuminations from the Sassagoula cruise to dtd . . . Can anyone confirm?
We have been on the boat a few times during illuminations and all we ever saw was a few flashs one or two fireworks (barely) but you can hear them.

WALTED what is the campfire all about? I haven't seen any information about that yet. Do you know any details?

Thanks everyone.:)

The only thing I have read about this is where and when but that's it.We will be going in Feb. and sure would like to more. WDWINFO is the only place I have seen anything on this.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!

Oooh, that marshmellow roast sounds like fun!

Can we get confirmation from someone who has been there recently that they are still doing this?

We've been to POR 5 times and never knew about this. We may be taking it in on our December trip! :)

Note to either the OP or the mods...

Could you please edit this thread title so that it reads POR or Port Orleans Riverside. No matter how many times this thread gets bumped up the first page, I always get confused at to whether it is referring to POR or POFQ.

Thanks!

I am not sure if it is done in December . . . I think that it is seasonal.
We were there in Feb/06 and they had it then.....I think its one night a week ( Wednesdays?) they have a campfire and pass out smores kits - ( $3.00 ) The kids enjoyed it.
