It's Summer Vacation! Let's Go! **Updated 8/9; Page 9; Last Day Posted!**

I am so glad I made the reservations for my 2 nieces, we are going to get the makeover before we head out to MNSSHP....they will be so surprised!!!!!

When Goofy and I got back from DTD, DH was walking around the lobby with Minnie and Tink. The girls were still dressed up. Tink was carrying around Maris, her doll, who was also dressed up in her Belle dress. The girls were enjoying the attention that they were still getting from other people around.

We decided to go out on the main savannah and look around. The girls loved the opportunity to look at the animals that we were unable to see from our balcony. Minnie especially loved looking at the zebras. We looked for the hidden Mickey in the three giraffes carved into the rock and I found it. Way to go Mom! :thumbsup2

The girls’ feet were starting to hurt in those little dress up shoes, so we went up to the room. The kids played for a while. Then we decided to go look at the animals through the night vision goggles.

By this time, the girls had gotten out their dress up clothes and put on their pajamas. So we all wandered outside towards the flamingo pond so that we could look at the animals.

There was a little bit of a line when we got there, so we had to wait. There were two CMs showing how to use the goggles, a woman from South Africa and a man from Botswana. The CMs took a special interest in Tink’s shoes, which were the kind that light up when you walk.

The CM from Botswana said that he should get a pair to take home, because there wasn’t anything like it there. He said it would be a sight to see in the middle of the pitch-black savannah at night to see two little red lights bouncing through. Both him and the other CM laughed. Tink thought they were laughing at her shoes, so she started to pout. We had to explain what they thought was funny, and after a little while she was okay. We got our chance to look through the night vision goggles. I couldn’t see any animals. They were neat to use though.

We went back up to our room and went to sleep, because we had some princesses to see in the morning.

Next up: I really will share the princess breakfast- I promise.

Thank you so much everyone who is reading! I appreciate it!

MickeyNicki: Your nieces are going to have so much fun! Share pics okay.

Lauren Elizabeth: Your little sister would have so much fun! This was one of my girls' favorite things that we did. They still wear their BBB sashes around the house.

Thanks also to everyone for the compliments on my girls. This was really a fun event.

Shelby5514: This could be a great way to get your husband to agree to whatever the hotel you want in the World. ;) Thanks for reading and the encouragement.

I am LOVING this report..so fun to read! I am going in August with my best friends to visit another friend who is working at the Living Seas. I've been to Disney countless times, but this will be the first trip for the rest of my group. The picture at BBB is precious, I just wish that they could do this for a group of 18 year olds! :rotfl2:

Your report made me tear up when you were talking about what a "neat" little guy you have.......I love that!! The BBB looks amazing.......I wonder how old my DD would have to be before she would truly enjoy it? She will be 3.5 on our next trip, more than likely. Did you see girls that young?

We awoke the next morning to the sounds of Mickey and Stitch- which the kids still think is pretty cool. The girls were excited- because we were going to see the Princesses this morning! Goofy- not really that excited. He was willing to suffer through it though, because it made his sisters happy. And, he knew that his mom and dad would really appreciate it.

So we get ready quickly, grab our bottles of water and get on the bus to Epcot. Now, my whole family was pretty tired. It was early. We aren’t very chatty when we are tired. We just kind of sit.

Sitting across the aisle from us was a group of very excited teens. They were also going to the Princess breakfast. They talked the entire way over. I learned so much about their lives- like whom Bobby likes. Really, I just wanted to know what they had taken in order to be that chipper so early in the morning.

We finally get off the bus and make our way to the front of Epcot. I see the little sign for the Princess Storybook Breakfast. I perk up a little bit as we walk up to the CM and tell her our last name. She looks and looks and looks. I’m starting to freak out. Oh, no. Did something bad happen to my ADR? I think about whether I have the confirmation number. I do- on my cell phone.

I peek over to look at the sheet and figure out why she’s having so much trouble. She can’t find it- because she’s looking at the end of the alphabet. “No, B, as in boy,” I tell her. Blank stare. Still, she’s looking at the Vs. My husband finally whips out our card and points to the name on it. I find our name on the list- and point, “There- that’s us.”

Finally, we made our way through. Sorry, those of you who had to wait. We started the l-o-o-o-n-n-n-g walk back towards Norway.

“Mom, I’m hot,” Minnie said.
“Mom, my feet hurt,” Tink said.
“How far do we have to walk?” Goofy said.
This went on the whole walk to Norway. Which made it take even longer, of course.

We make our way to the podium and check in. I made sure to clarify the first initial of my last name- just in case. We’ve got to wait for a little while.

So, Minnie guzzles down most of her bottle of water. Tink sits happily. Goofy tries to avoid eye contact.

We finally get to go in, and whom do we see? Tink’s favorite princess, of course! Belle- in her yellow dress. Both of the girls are just mesmerized and really can’t say anything. Belle compliments Tink on her beautiful dress. She blushes.

We go to sit down and order our drinks. Then who should happen by our table- Princess Aurora. The girls are still in a bit of awe, and don’t really know what to say. She comments on how pretty they both look, and tells Tink how much she looks like Belle. She was really sweet. She asked Goofy if he wanted to be in the picture. He shakes his head and goes back to eating his cinnamon roll.

aurora.jpg

DH, Goofy and I started eating. Tink and Minnie were way too excited. They kept craning their necks, to see who the other princesses were. “Mom! There’s Jasmine!” Minnie said, pointing. Jasmine happens to be Minnie’s favorite princess- ever.

Jasmine comes over to the table and the girls are completely speechless. So is DH. He fumbles for the camera. He has to take two pictures- because he wasn’t really paying attention to OUR girls when he took the first one. I’ll let you be the judge.

Here’s DH’s first attempt.

jasmine1.jpg

We’re very lucky that most of Tink’s head is in the shot.

jasmine2.jpg

This is the picture after he gained some of his composure.

Goofy drinks some more orange juice as I roll my eyes at DH  , who is still fumbling around with the camera.

alprincess.jpg

I try to convince Tink and Minnie to eat, but both are afraid of missing any of the princesses. I think that I got them to finally eat a cinnamon roll and a little bit of fruit. That was about it.

Next, Snow White came by. She was truly the sweetest princess. She had a sugary sweet voice as she said, “I can tell you girls have been to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.” The girls loved her.

snowwhite.jpg

Mulan came by last. “I’m going to ask her about the lucky cricket,” Minnie tells me. So she asks how the cricket is doing, and Mulan tells the girls that the cricket ran away again. DH and I were impressed- even though we aren’t really sure what she was a princess of.

mulan.jpg

Goofy drank even more orange juice and played it cool. After Mulan came by, we convinced the girls to eat some more.

We finish up, DH buys the picture, and we make our way out of there. We have to get the girls changed, get fastpasses for Soarin’, and rent a locker.
So we decide to split up. I take the girls to change, and DH goes with Goofy for FPs.

Next up: I’m in front of Spaceship Earth, where are you? No, I'm in front of Spaceship Earth!

I think your daughter would love it. Especially if she likes to dress up. There were some girls younger than mine. I would guess that they were about 4.

Thanks for reading!

Your girls are too cute! I laughed so hard when I saw the 2 pics your DH took, my DH had to come in and see what was so funny.....he asked where that was and I said at the Princess breakfast that we are going to in Oct, his reply?? CAN WE GO THERE ALL THE NOW?

Aw, your little one DOES look exactly like Belle! Especially in the picture where she's standing right next to her! :)

& I meant to ask you earlier... what hairstyles did each daughter choose when they went to BBB? Thanks!

This is a great trip report!! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip! :teeth: You have a really beautiful family - I'm happy to hear that you all enjoyed Boma for dinner. We love the breakfast there every trip & are finally getting up the courage to try it for dinner (I'm a picky eater! LOL) :rotfl:

The one with the blue hair is the Pop Princess. It came with 4 mickey head clips and the colored hair.

The other is the Disney Diva. It has fake hair also and Mickey bobby pins.

Thanks to everyone who is reading and commenting. I appreciate it!

When I last left you, we had just finished eating breakfast in Norway and were making our way up to the front to rent a locker and get FPs to Soarin’. We decided to split up, so I took the girls up to the front to change and get a locker, while the guys went to get FPs. We decided to meet in front of Spaceship Earth.

epcot.jpg

That was a good idea.

Because it’s not very crowded in Epcot 4 days before the Fourth of July. Ha!

We couldn’t find each other. So we had to use our cell phones.

“Where are you?” I asked DH.
“I’m in front of Spaceship Earth,” he tells me.
“So am I, but I don’t see you,” I tell him.
“I don’t see you either. Where are you?”
”In front of Spaceship Earth, by the entrance.”
“Oh… just a sec. I’ll come around.”

Apparently, ‘in front of’ might just might mean behind when you are talking about a sphere. He was on the other side of Spaceship Earth.

We had some time before our FPs, so we decided to go see Turtle Talk with Crush. We were the last family to get in to that session, so the kids had to crawl over parents in order to sit down. The show was really good. My kids didn’t get picked to ask any questions, but they enjoyed it anyways.

Crush is very quick witted though. He came out with a swimsuit top on and asked the kids what it was.

“Bikini top!” All the kids said.
Except one, who waited until everyone else had yelled. “It’s a bra!”
All the parents in the room roared with laughter and then waited for Crush’s response.

“I’m going to go with bikini. Because I think bra is something you call your friends. Like, “Hey, bra! How’s it goin’?” he responds.

Another eruption of laughter from the parents. And most of the kids too. :rotfl:

This became Goofy’s phrase of the day. And the rest of the week.

We weaved our way out of Crush and decided to make our way to Figment. But first, I had to take the typical tourist photo.

nemo.jpg

Figment was fun. We also had a lot of fun with the photos at the end. However, I must have put in the wrong email address, because I never saw them at home. J

It was time for our Soarin’ FP, so we went to ride. They checked Tink’s height, checked the clock and let us in. The standby line was HUGE! We flew past them and made our way towards the front.

All I can say about this ride is WOW! The kids loved it. Even Goofy, who is somewhat afraid of heights, loved it. I kept expecting to have a little bit of water splash my feet as we went over the ocean. We all got off the ride smiling from ear to ear.

We decided to make our way to Test Track to grab a set of FPs. We had a lot of time to kill, so we went into Innovations and the kids played for a while.

Goofy had a great time playing video games. (His first chance since we got on the plane). He was happy. Minnie was looking around and reading and playing with different things. Tink was chasing around a light. All the kids were happy.

We played for quite a while and still had time before our FPs, so we decided to hit the best ride in Epcot. At least that’s what I had heard here. We walked back over to Norway to ride Maelstrom. All the cool kids were doing it. So we had to do it too.

We even rode it without a FP! I couldn’t believe it.

The kids did have a good time in the gift shop.

And my favorite one of all:

amaelstrom.jpg

After that rousing ride, and the movie we didn’t sit through, we decided to make our way back towards Test Track.

However, we were having a problem with one of our crew. Minnie, to be exact. She was not doing well. She was hot. Her legs were tired. And she was turning a little greenish. And weepy. Minnie is very sensitive to the heat. She gets overheated very easily and then throws up. It’s not pretty. So we had to take a break on our way back over to Test Track. We sat on a bench while Minnie cried that she was hot and her stomach hurt. DH got her some water and we waited for a while.

She started to perk up a little and her face turned back to its normal color, so we asked if she wanted to just go back to the hotel, or if she wanted to ride Test Track first. She voted for Test Track. So we rode. We all enjoyed it. Minnie didn’t get sick.

We decided that it was time for us to leave for the afternoon. Even though Minnie had not gotten sick, it was a sign that she needed to rest. So we went back to the hotel to eat lunch and cool down for a while.

Next up: Spaceship Earth and Illuminations

You have very beautiful children - they look so sweet.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us, it is very well written - im loving it.

I love your trip report! I have to say, my DD6 has the same problem with the heat. In fact, we had an episode 2 weeks ago when we were camping in the heat! We didn't do too well planning our Disney vacation in August! We will just have to take lots of breaks. Glad to hear your daughter didn't get sick, though!

It was amazing that she didn't get sick the whole time we were there, although the weather was not as hot as I was expecting. It was cooler in Florida than it was in Missouri during our trip!

So, after spending some time back at the hotel, we decided to make our way back to Epcot for the evening.

On the way back to Epcot, we decided to do something that we never did anymore. We decided to rent a stroller. The girls had spent a lot of time complaining about how much they were walking in Epcot this morning, so really it was for our own sanity. The girls were both really excited. It had been a long time since they were in a stroller. Goofy wanted to know why we weren’t going to push him around.

We decided to ride Spaceship Earth before making our way over to the World Showcase. There was no one else around, which is a very strange and uncomfortable feeling in Disney World. The kids all rode together in one car and DH and I got to ride together behind them.

Now, I don’t know about anyone else, but the eyes on the animatronics kind of give me the creeps. They stare right at you. It gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking about them.

After hopping off this ride, we made our way back to the World Showcase with every other person at Epcot that night. It was crowded. We started in Canada and just meandered around, without any real purpose. It was the very first time since we had stepped foot in Disney World that we had been without a plan. It was a scary feeling.

We wandered through France for a while.

disney2006-087.jpg

We looked through Morocco. DH admired the belly dancer. It seemed as though most of the crowd was made up of men standing frozen and slack jawed. Huh, I wonder why?

disney2006088-1.jpg

Then, we decided to go shopping in Japan. Tink was in heaven. She is a Hello Kitty freak and she just entered the Hello Kitty mecca. It was going to be hard to tear her away from it. She wanted it all.

While looking through the store, I found one of those toys that I hadn’t seen since I was a little girl- Monchichis. I was excited because I LOVED them when I was little. These weren’t as good as the ones that I had though. You couldn’t stick their big toes in their mouths. They weren’t shaped right. But the nostalgia factor was there. I tried to show Tink and Minnie how cool they were, but neither was buying it.

We window shopped for a bit and then decided that we were ready for a sweet treat. We stopped for a funnel cake and listened to an Eagles cover band play. I think that Goofy got a bit embarrassed when I started singing Hotel California outloud. I cannot resist singing along though. Ever. Everyone, except DH, is inflicted with this disorder. We have to sing when we hear a song on the radio. Usually it's not out in public, mostly in the car. We're like the Partridges, only our songs aren't as wholesome.

We then sat down and waited for Illuminations to begin. The girls were happy as clams in their strollers. Goofy, on the other hand, was not as excited to be sitting on the ground.

Have you ever taken a photo that turned out really cool? I took this one while we were waiting and I had to show it off.

disney2006090-1.jpg

I have to admit, I really didn’t have high expectations for this show. I had already decided that it wasn’t going to be as good as Wishes. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good. I don’t think that you can even compare it to Wishes because they are such different shows.

illuminations.jpg

Afterwards we slowly made our way back up to the front to load the crowded bus back to AKL. This was when having a stroller wasn’t such a great thing. There were so many people and it was hard to get around the slow ones with that big purple thing to push. It was also weird not to have someone’s hand to hold onto. My arm felt a little too light.

We went back to the room and feel fast asleep.

Next up: Day 6: Back to the Magic Kingdom to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean ride! pirate:

Oh I am really enjoying this report! Your children are all beautiful.

I lol at DH's pic of Jasmine :rotfl:

thanks
