This morning I woke up and realized that our time at Disney World was almost up. It wasn’t a good feeling. I moped out on the balcony for a while. Goofy came out and we talked.

We woke everyone up early so we could be at the Magic Kingdom for opening. The whole ride over, I kept thinking about how our vacation was ending. Minnie was thinking it too. “Mom, our vacation is almost over,” she said looking at me with her serious little eyes.

We made it through the turnstiles without any problems and crowded with everyone else to wait for the park to open. Tink had woken up very cranky this morning. She complained the entire time. “I’m hot, I’m sweaty, and I’m tired. Why are all these people here?” This didn’t mix well with my grumpy, ‘my vacation is almost over’ funk. I was too busy feeling sorry for myself to deal with Tink’s grouchiness so DH took over and gave her a little whispered pep talk. I’m not sure what he said, but it seemed to work, for the moment.

We watched the opening show and then made our way to Space Mountain. This was the furthest to the front we had ever been at opening, so I was able to witness a lot of things. I saw a man dash by holding a little girl in a Tinkerbelle costume like a football. I watched parents scream at their children to hurry up. At the Space Mountain rope, I watched people climb under it, because the CM couldn’t get it unlatched. There was some definite madness in the air. The craziness made me wonder if it was worth it for my family. Did I need to have my kids sit through two rope drops at Magic Kingdom in a week?

Finally we made our way to Space Mountain and DH rode with Minnie and Goofy while Tink and I waited. We talked and both got rid of our morning grumpiness. When they got off the ride, DH and I traded places so I could ride with Minnie and Goofy.

Minnie was having a great time riding and decided that she wanted to ride up in the front seat this time. So Goofy and I let her. It was great to listen to her laugh and scream while riding. I was happy that I had a roller-coaster loving daughter.

After we were finished, we decided to make our way over to Haunted Mansion. On our way we ran into Alice.

We got in line for the Haunted Mansion without any wait. Goofy was asked to carry the time badge in line with him. The kids loved this ride. They were all excited about the hitchhiking ghost that now had hanging out with them.

I had read on TGM that it was very likely that Pirates of the Caribbean would be open today, so we hustled our way over there. And it was! Hooray! Tink put on her pirate princess Mickey ears. They looked really cute. She crooked her index finger into a hook to scare away the bad pirates during the ride.

To be honest, two years ago, I wasn’t all that impressed with this ride. So, I don’t remember a lot of it. I can’t tell you how different it is. But I can tell you that the Jack animatronics are great! They are very lifelike, which is great if you love Mr. Depp  . Also, the addition at the beginning is also very cool. It was kind of hard to hear the audio in some places, but overall a pretty cool ride.

The kids loved it. We bought a couple of things in the gift shop and asked Tink what she wanted to ride next. “Splash Mountain!” she yelled. So we walked down and got FP to Splash. Then we realized that we were all hungry. So we decided to go to Pinocchio Haus for lunch.

The entire place was dead. It was the quietest CS restaurant that we had eaten at all week. DH, Goofy and Tink had pizza. Minnie had a PB&J. I ate a turkey panini. It was really good! We were all a little tired so we ate fairly quietly.

Goofy was very happy to get pizza, even if the pic looks like he’s miserable.

It was time for our FPs, so we went to ride Splash. Tink declared that she was going to ride the entire ride with her hands in the air.

Goofy and Minnie were up to that challenge also.

See, Goofy does smile, rarely.

It was fun as usual. Minnie was the only one of the kids to keep her hands up the entire time. She is quite the little daredevil.

The park was beginning to feel really crowded, so we decided to head back to the hotel to swim and rest and come back in the late afternoon before our dinner.
Next up: Goofy’s date with Lazy Susan

I just caught up and let me tell you; your kids are beautiful! They are so cute! I love this report and I enjoy seeing all your pictures.

I plan to take breaks in the afternoon like you have been doing as i will be taking my son (will be 20 months). I cant wait to read the rest of your report I am relly looking forward to the next installment.

So after a nice afternoon break and swim, we made our way back to the MK. We were going to walk around for a while before making our way over to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner.

What we ended up doing was taking a few pictures in front of the castle and then going to watch Cinderellabration. We got to sit fairly close to the stage over on the left. We had to sit on the ground again which didn’t make Goofy very happy. So, my DH and Goofy decided to stand with the crowd.

While there is a lot lacking in this show, my girls loved it. In fact, every night one of their toys is crowned a princess. Last night it was Stitch. He was wearing Belle’s yellow ball gown. It was quite a sight.

The girls were excited to see all the princesses. I’m pretty sure that Minnie lost feeling in her arm from waving so much. Tink was just in awe. Goofy was getting a little tired of princesses.

Luckily for him, we had a dinner reservation to make. So we made our way to the bus for the Wilderness Lodge. We waited for a really long time for that bus to come. In fact, it was probably the longest that we had waited for a bus the entire time we were there. DH and I kept debating if there was another way to get to WL because there was no one else in line with us.

When the bus finally showed up, we waited for everyone to get off the bus and hopped on. I was relieved because we were getting close to our ADR time and I didn’t want to be late.

So we plopped our family down in the seats and waited for the driver. We were the only people on the bus. The bus driver was ready to go so he closed the doors and started the engine. I turned to talk to my husband and that’s when I noticed her.

There was a little girl about 18 months on the bus with us. Without a parent.

The bus driver started to drive off. “Uhh, excuse us. This little girl isn’t with us,” we yelled to the bus driver.
Next up: Finding her mama.

I had taken my DD and my Nephew the week of Memorial day and by the end of the week my DD was pooped and so I ended up renting a stroller for her our last park day at EPCOT!! It made it much easier on all of us. :thumbsup2

Plus it is a great place too put all your stuff. :goodvibes

Sounds like you managed even with the crowds.

I can't wait to go back for a few days in Dec when things are much cooler and calmer.... :goodvibes Summer is just so rushed!!

This is what happens when you come back from Disney World with tons of pictures and you learn how to make a collage in Photoshop during your Master’s class.

Love it, love it, love it. I just got done with a class on digital photography and Photoshop Elements and can't wait to get back from our upcoming trip. Too bad that we only get back two days before school starts :guilty:

Whatta cliff hanger....
C'mon, hurry, hurry.... trying to patiently wait for your next installment!! I'm hooked, great report!

Uh oh!! Great reviews...........just what I need! We leave tomorrow afternoon after I get out of work, for our 16 night vacation. I'm too excited to sleep!!!!!!

I can't wait to read the rest, I'll have to do this after I get home next month!

So yesterday I told you about the little girl who probably wasn’t any older than 18 months who we found on the bus with us as we were going to the Wilderness Lodge.

“This little girl isn’t with us,” we tell the bus driver as he puts the bus into drive. It took a couple of seconds for him to register what we were saying.

When he did, he put the bus in park and went up to her. “Where’s your mama?” he asked.

With her blankie still in her hand, she pointed off the bus. “Over ‘der,” she said in her very young ‘I just started talking’ voice.

She pointed into a sea of people. None of them had the expression as though they were missing their little girl. The bus driver stood with her just outside the bus. It seemed like an eternity before her panic-stricken mother ran up and hugged her. In reality, it was probably less than a minute. I really could only imagine how scary that must have been for that mother.

We’re very lucky that there wasn’t anyone else on that bus. It would have been very likely that we would have assumed she was with another family. Then she would have gone all the way to the Wilderness Lodge before anyone would have realized that she was lost. That’s a scary thought.

The bus driver sat for a little while before he drove us to the Wilderness Lodge. All our nerves were a little shaken at that point.

Tip for today: Keep hold of the little ones’ hands, ladies and gentlemen. They’re slippery.

Next: A Wild Time at Whispering Canyon Cafe
