IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

I know I can not make ADRs yet but this is what I figure. We should get free dinning and we make ADRs at 180 days, but won't find out about free dinning until after that like july or something, to late for a lot of ADRs. So the plan is if we get free dinning, to bump it up to deluxe plan. So I think I should make all our ADRs like we have deluxe then when we know one way or the other we either are very happy or we have to cancle several. This is what we want for ADRs

Whew! Sounds amazing...but how many people are you going with? I ask because when we went with 7 every dining experience took AT LEAST an hour and a half. No joke. A few (BOG dinner and LTT lunch...LTT was because of a pretty crappy server though) took 2 hours. That would be the only thing I would think about, because that is a LOT of time away from the parks and other activities. Add in travel time to and from the restaurants and it could be brutal. Just a thought...

We just got back from a Disney trip Nov 13-20 I said I would wait till my boy were older about 5 years from now. But here I am planning a trip for Oct 2014. My three year old asks to go back to our room and parks everyday since we got back. He loves everything Halloween so we will probably be going end of October spending Halloween in Orlando. Here we go again :)

There are 4 adults and 2 children going with us but we have 12 days and my daughter and myself are foodies all the way....also we will have 2 cars between us

I am jealous of your 12 days!!! DH can only get one week off, so we will have 6. But I am thankful for our 6!! ;)

I LOVE the restaurants at Disney and it is really hard for me to narrow it down to one TS per day (we do the regular dining plan). I can't wait to hear how it all goes after your trip!

DW and I are going to be at WDW after our 5 day cruise for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler. We will be staying at Boardwalk, need to get points bought in January. be there from 1st thru the 6th.

Welcome!! Sounds like a great trip! pixiedust:

Ugh, I just read that Beaches and Cream will now be accepting ADR's!!

That's ridiculous, that place is tiny! We are staying at Beach Club and I was looking forward to popping in for a spontaneous burger/late night snack at some point while we are there, but now it will be packed constantly.

Boo. :snooty:

Anyways, trip planning....

I think we are officially going 10/21 - 10/30 now because of work obligations. That's okay with the two of us though, we wanted to go later in the month anyways. The weird part is my sisters and nieces are still going in the beginning of the month! WDW will have to deal with parts of my family for almost the entire month! :rotfl:

Since it's now just the two of us (unless my brother comes out for the last few days) I think this will a more "fly by the seat of our pants" trip.

We are doing the quick service dining plan, so we will only make a few sit-down ADR's at California Grill, Via Napoli and maybe La Hacienda. And then just try our luck at walk ups and if nothing available, we are fine with just the two quick service for the day.

Not too worried about fast pass, it's a long trip so we'll hit everything we want. We are rope-drop people and we park hop with the best of them! Plus we will be happy to have some easy days in there too.

The only other thing I know for sure we need to book is the Halloween party!!:banana:

So all in all, this trip will actually be pretty relaxed with just the two of us, and I need stress free please....

Joining in. Right off the Disney Dream (first DCL cruise!), we will do 2 nights at VWL. First time at WL and EXCITED. Checking in on Halloween and taking boat to MNSSHP! Happy to join you guys. I love Halloween time at WDW!!

OK, so they say the whole FP+ thing is testing, but is it safe to assume that I should base my planning for 2014 around getting 3 FP+ per day, at one park?

FYI, I am NOT trying to start a debate about FP+, god knows there are enough of THOSE threads, haha, just wondering if its here to stay. I haven't been able to "tentatively" plan my days because I've been unsure if we would be operating on the FP+ system or not.

It will be there. But there are other factors like will their be tiered FPs, more available for on-site guests (and perhaps more for various price levels of resorts).

I definitely would. Im sure itll be tweaked here and there but the basics are here to stay.

I'm new to the Oct 2014 planning thread!! We just booked Oct 20-24 at POP through a friend who is also a Disney TA, with the DDP. I am so excited!!! This will be my fourth trip (first two were in the 80's), my DH and DD11 DD10 (when we go) second trip. My parents took us in July 2012 and DH fell in love. That trip we stayed at Shades of Green since my dad is retired AF.
Just in reading this thread I have a learning curve ahead with the FP+ and magic bands...eek!! We didn't have the dining plan last year either so I have no clue about ADR dates. Yikes!
As for school, I teach fourth grade and my girls will be in 5th and 6th grades. I have no qualms at all with them missing four days!!
Best of all, this is a surprise for the girls...we plan to tell them the day before that we are going to the beach. Maybe! Might pack in secret and just wake them up early for a "road trip" but we don't plan to reveal our destination until we are close enough they figure it out. Squeeee!!!!

Aww I'm sure whenever they find out, they will be excited. You guys will be there the same time as us, we will be at Pop Oct.19-28 :)

Woo hoo! Got my Mickey Mail yesterday for our stay in October.

I LOVE the new packet with the flash drive!

So excited!!! :yay:

That's just the flash drive. You'll get a packet about 30 days out with goodies if you have a package :)

Aaarcher86 - thanks for all your help in planning my trip. By helping others, you have answered a lot of my questions. I sent you one more question via PM because I wasn't sure where else to post it. I appreciate any (more) help you can give me.

Welcome! I've added you to the list. :)

Sorry I'm not around much lately, but we are having some sad times with our sweet old dog, so my mind isn't much on Disney.

I will try to update at least once a week.

Awesome. Sent you one back this morning :) happy planning!

I posted in another thread.. my Christmas Present to me is my deposit on an Oct 12-18th trip to WDW! I am staying at ASWo. Best part, I have a friend going with me and she's just as excited.

I normally go in May, for low crowds, but this year I want to experience MNSHP. I'm also hoping for some discount like free meal plan or resort discount around that time.

I'm pysched! I'll start a count down soon and drive my co-workers nuts.
