IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

Just booked our family's first trip for October 25-31 in a family suite at Aoa! :cheer2: Super excited!!!

Hey everyone!! Welcome all new people! I'll be updating list in the next day or so.

I got some pretty great news, we're getting a bonus at work and I'll be getting it in time for my trip. This will more than pay for my trip (even though we already saved for it) and we may upgrade to a water view at Beach Club and some other splurges!! I was so happy I actually had tears in my eyes! :rotfl: It was so unexpected! The rest will go straight to savings along with everything we already had saved for the trip. Now I don't even have to feel guilty about spending the money! I feel very lucky. :)

Hi all! My husband, grandaughter (who will be almost 4 when we go) and myself will be going Oct. 17-30 for our first WDW trip ever!:yay: I just booked it today and we are staying at POR in a Royal Room. I have lots of plans made, but have to wait for more official park schedules etc. Our ADR day falls on Easter morning which will be interesting since we are a pastor's family. (Guess I will be up early anyway-LOL) Can't wait to share in planning and discussions with everyone.

Just wanted to say congrats on your great news - it is so awesome to have that extra cushion. Makes your trip that much better! :yay:

Thanks!! But we aren't upgrading to a water view now, it's $600 for my trip dates! Even with the bonus, I just can't justify spending that much on a hotel room. :scared:

In fact, other members of my family are having a hard time finding any standard rooms at any of the Deluxe hotels. Everything is showing only the more expensive rooms available.

The last couple weeks of October the prices go down and all views are available, so we are seriously considering changing our dates. :)

Hey all. Just joining the fun! We are going for our second family trip on Oct. 18-24 at POR. We went this October and loved it so much we can't wait to go back!

We bit the bullet and booked our first (for all of us!!) trip to Disney World! We have 2 & 4 year old boys so they're going to love it! We're going 10/7-10/2014 and staying in the AoA Cars Suite. I'm so excited!! I have no clue where to start with planning at all so I'm about to dive into that.

So excited for you! The planning is half the fun! Enjoy!

So, slight change of plans. We decided it was too complicated to try to do our all inclusive from Florida...so we are just going to do more time at Disney!! YEAH! Instead of 6 nights, we are now looking at 10 or 11. I am even considering a split stay.

This is probably a REALLY stupid question, but does the Caribbean Beach Resort and the Beach Club actually have real beaches? I am just wondering if I can be at Disney but PRETEND I am a beach in Jamaica? haha

EDIT: I just discovered I can actually stay in "Jamaica" at the CBR..sounds like a no-brainer for our last couple of days :)

They do have sand beaches you can relax on. Can't get in the lake water though... Brain eating amoebas and gators!

I'm sorry, they have WHAT? Are you kidding me? Alligators in the water at Disney? So they can just crawl up on the beach?

Hah! I thought your WHAT was going to be about the brain eaters! I knew the water was unfit for humans but brain eating amoebas for real? Yikes.

:scared: :crazy2: :faint:

LOL well with the amoebas I assume I'm safe if I stay out of the water. However, if I stick in my earbuds and fall asleep on the beach, I'm concerned I may end up as a snack.

Lol no, not usually. I'm sure it happens rarely but through he sewer systems there just isn't a way to keep all the scary Florida critters out! Disney is really good about it though!

I think you'll be safe snoozing on the sand lmao. But it is a using to picture a gator walking up to you while you're asleep! I worry more about the snakes!!!

I come from a place with no gators, snakes, or poisonous spiders lol

Hello everyone,

We will be in WDW from 2 to 12 October at the GF, following a 4 day cruise on the Dream.

We wil be: me, my husband, our two daughters who will be 15 and 13 at the time, and our son who will be 4.

We do not get to go very often, as we live so far away; so we are all very much looking forward to our trip and are so exited! Even our 3 year old, who doesn't really understand where we will be going, is very excited as his sisters keep telling him about the trip: he is asking every morning "are we going to the boat today?"

Welcome! Is this your family's first trip to DisneyWorld? What are your children looking forward to seeing?

Welcome! Is this your family's first trip to DisneyWorld? What are your children looking forward to seeing?

Thank you!

This will be our second time as a family at WDW (I had been in the 80s as a child) - we were there in Oct 2005; and last time we were there was in Dec 2009... and I realize so much has changed since then, from reading the board, and am busy trying to keep up with all the changes!

I think my daughters are most looking forward to... the Wizarding World - they are huge Harry Potter fans, doing the cruise (we have never been on a cruise!), the water parks, and the whole atmosphere in the resort.

Our son is most looking forward to... meeting Tinkerbell! - he has had the biggest crush on her since seeing her in the Peter Pan movie! His sisters have explained that he will get to meet her (I hope we do!).

Apart from this he doesn't really have any idea of what to expect; so I can't wait to see his reaction to everything - I think he will be overwhelmed!

I see that you will be in October on a Disneymoon: how exciting! When are you getting married? Since i was young I always wanted to go to Disney on my honeymoon; however I'm afraid that my husband wasn't enthusiastic about the idea...

With the children, I now have a good excuse to drag him to WDW every few years... It is for the children, of course! :scratchin

Our DVC angel just got us Oct 16 through 25 at a BoardWalk Standard View, 9, maybe 10 park days. That's a Thurs morning check in, out the second Sat but we'll have a late flight so we'll probably hang around for a 10th day of Food&Wine. We just got back on 10/18 after an 8 day stay in which we saw 4 great Eat to the Beat acts, I expect 4 or 5 in 2014. Now it's real!
