IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

Hey all! Welcome! I've added all the new people ( I think!)

Well, my trip is in a state of flux right now, we may be going later in the month now! Keep you posted!!!:rotfl:

We're going for at least 6 days next October, but here's to hoping I'm hitting up the Mouse House for 10+!

Thank you!

This will be our second time as a family at WDW (I had been in the 80s as a child) - we were there in Oct 2005; and last time we were there was in Dec 2009... and I realize so much has changed since then, from reading the board, and am busy trying to keep up with all the changes!

I think my daughters are most looking forward to... the Wizarding World - they are huge Harry Potter fans, doing the cruise (we have never been on a cruise!), the water parks, and the whole atmosphere in the resort.

Our son is most looking forward to... meeting Tinkerbell! - he has had the biggest crush on her since seeing her in the Peter Pan movie! His sisters have explained that he will get to meet her (I hope we do!).

Apart from this he doesn't really have any idea of what to expect; so I can't wait to see his reaction to everything - I think he will be overwhelmed!

I see that you will be in October on a Disneymoon: how exciting! When are you getting married? Since i was young I always wanted to go to Disney on my honeymoon; however I'm afraid that my husband wasn't enthusiastic about the idea...

With the children, I now have a good excuse to drag him to WDW every few years... It is for the children, of course! :scratchin

May I make a suggestion? Why don't you do a one night stay at one of the Universal Resorts? That will give each member of your family an unlimited Express Pass, plus entry to WWOHP an hour before the general public. The room itself would be much cheaper than GF, so you're practically MAKING money on the Express Pass :) Also, its good for the day you check in and the day you check out, so that's two full days of no waiting in lines!

They are opening a new family suites hotel at Universal, but I beleive that will NOT include the Express Pass, just early entry to WWOHP.

The new Diagon Alley section will be opening in the summer of 2014, and they expect the parks to be extremely busier, so staying onsite might make sense for your family.

We are getting married October 11th, heading to Orlando on the 14th. And I always said I wanted to honeymoon in Disney..my friend told me if I could find a guy to agree to that, I'd BETTER marry him haha. My DFi had never been to Disney before our trip this year, and he loved it so much that HE actually suggested it for our honeymoon :) We look forward to bringing our children there someday. One of my favorite parts of this trip was seeing all the excited kids, and talking to some of them in line (I was also talking to the parents-nothing creepy going on!haha)

I'm gonna need you to change my dates eventually because we will be staying for about 5 more nights! I'll wait until the reservation is made to confirm dates :)

I can't wait until all of our trips get closer so this thread will be more active! hehe

I'm sure there will be ALOT of chatters once people start making reservations, park hours are released, and FP+ unfolds.

We'll be there after a week long cruise on the Fantasy :yay:

DH and myself.....Oct. 4-18 at OKW

I'm sorry!! :goodvibes I will try to be on here more, but if I'm honest, the boards are bringing me down about the trip. All this doom and gloom, it's even starting to make me second guess the trip. :worried:

but don't worry, will still update everyone! :)

I understand our trips are still a while away, so plans aren't that specific yet..basically, too early for much chatter :)

I'm sorry you are reconsidering your trip :( My fiance has only been to WDW once, and the one trip with him was the only time I used FP... didn't know about it in 2005 and first trip in 1991 there was no FP...I remember the 2 hour wait for Splash! haha

If reports continue that you can still get alot done early in the morning, then FP+ will not affect our trip to the point that we would not go. My DFi would be content to do Universal/Seaworld/Busch Gardens/Aquatica/Wet and Wild, but all the same, it would have to be pretty bad to deter me from doing Disney altogether!

I am a pretty new DISer and Disney addict, but I can tell you that we went this last October (2013) and did the Magicbands and FP+. I thought that it was all amazing!!! The Magicbands made everything so easy for us.

As for FP+, it was really great to know that I had a time for some of the hard to get rides already set up. For example, we went to Epcot, and due to some situations out of my control (kids and grandparents ;) ) we didn't get there until about 10:15 or so. I had a FP+ for Soarin' so we went there first. When we got there, the FP-'s were all out, and the standby line was 85 minutes. But, we were able to walk right up and ride it. Without FP+ we would never have been able to ride it because my little darlings do NOT have the patience for an 85 minute line (which is really part of the reason we go in October instead of summer!)

Plus, if you miss your FP+ time because you were caught up in something magical, you don't lose it. You just find a kiosk or get out your phone and change it. No problem!

I don't know if that puts your mind at ease, but I hope it helps. I know that it is different, but I really don't think it is different bad. It takes some getting used to, but if you are on top of it (and I'm pretty sure everyone on this thread is on top of it already planning for next October...323 days to go and counting!!) then you should have no problem getting the rides that you want.

Just my two cents...

Oh we're still going! ::yes:: I just don't like visiting the boards much right now, the whole page is just such a downer!:scared1:

Thanks! I'm sure it will work fine for us. Plus, we're there 9 nights, so that takes the pressure off also! ::yes::

Who hoo! We may get TWO trips this year! :cool1:

Besides our usual week in late October/early November, we are considering a May 2-5 trip for the Expedition Everest Challenge. Sounds like SO much fun! :cheer2: And AKL twice in one year too!

Color options showed up for me the next day. Of course I had to pick orange since I will be there the week of Halloween lol

We have switched back to POR RR. Also went online and picked our magic band colors and names......so what's next?

I know I can not make ADRs yet but this is what I figure. We should get free dinning and we make ADRs at 180 days, but won't find out about free dinning until after that like july or something, to late for a lot of ADRs. So the plan is if we get free dinning, to bump it up to deluxe plan. So I think I should make all our ADRs like we have deluxe then when we know one way or the other we either are very happy or we have to cancle several. This is what we want for ADRs
