Here's the deal for me and my mom... You don't get to cling to "family values" if your values have you back in the office after giving birth to a child that has problems eating, whether the kid is nursing or not.

If you put your family first, it shows in your actions. This kinda thing about being back in the office in three days... Yeah... That's not putting your family first. There's a reason medical leave for women who give birth is at least 6 weeks.

What is your true motivation for going here? This is one of the MOST ridiculous arguments I've heard coming from the OS to date. I honestly can't even debate this because it is such a unDemocratic thing for a supposed Democrat to say that I am at a loss for words.

This is what I'm saying! I have never seen people abandon virtually all of their avowed principles so hard and so fast, cuz their guy might lose an election. By the time this is over, Obama and his supporters are going to be courting the Religious Right, promising strict constructionist judges, joining Right to Life, and demanding a nationwide holiday for the opening day of deer season. It is really amazing to watch how meaningless everything they say they believe in really is to them. It's kind of sad, actually, having nothing at all you really believe in except winning.

The father obviously has a role. Her DH is a commercial fisherman (she worked with him in the beginning, according to her bio). If he's able to take time off to care for their children, as a state employee, yes, I think she should put the important things first. Her family. Same thing Karen Hughes did. Family comes first, not political power or political jobs.

It's just not sitting right with me, so that's why I hope she impresses the HECK out of me in the debates.

I know working moms are a reality. I just expressed concern that as vice president of the United States she won't be around much for her 5 young children. Many working moms aren't around much for their young children, and that also concerns me. That's why there are much more SAHMs than SAHDs.

From what I've read, Chelsea had a tutor and traveled a lot of the time with Hillary.

So someone has already shown Sarah Palin how this can work. Her kids can have tutors and travel with her. Problem solved. Seriously, I can't even believe that would be an issue for anyone.

She has young children, and I feel sorry that their mother will not be around much. Being governor is a lot different that being VP, with all the traveling and being out of the home.

It sounds like he's most likely been Mr. Mom all along. Not a new thing. And she's been in AK practically her entire life. Makes sense she would have her political career there. Actually, I think she's pretty impressive...

You obviously don't know what public service is. It's service above self. It's putting the interests of the entire state ahead of your own. You don't take the job if you can't make the commitment.
