It's Here!! We're Leaving for WDW!!! Travel Day!!

:
I gave everyone planning books for Reality kicked me in the pants again, though, as I began to realize that memorizing WDW guide books was not the favorite pastime of the rest of my family.
Kelly -

No way! What kind of heathen are they that they don't thrive on memorizing guidebooks??

I feel your pain...

Leah

The yard sale was a success. We made about $500 dollars. Woo hoo!

My oldest turns 13 tomorrow and she had a birthday party in the middle of the weekend on top of the yard sale. I am pooped.

Off to my classroom to do lesson plans for next week.

How many more days???????????

:)

Kelly, you are looking more and more like SuperWoman to me!! Let's see now...let me count...there's oh, like, I want to say...boy, this is a hard one...only 3 more days to go!!!!!

We're in the midst of getting ready for our Kindergarten "Day on the Farm" plays. Our class is doing their own version of "Click, Clack, Moo...Cows that Type". They really have done a great job...it's their words for the play, their costumes, their invitations...I hope they just shine like the superstars they are on Wednesday when we perform it for the rest of the school and the parents!!

Boo took her first Communion and just looked beautiful. I cried, of course, once I realized how grown up she's getting. Add the white dress she wore and I couldn't help but think that one day she'd be walking down that same aisle to get married...

We didn't have a full-fledged party for her...we have the trip coming up and it would've been just too much for me to get ready for. I told her that we were having a party, just a week later...and the guest list would include Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, among others. She just gave me a look...her birthday is the Friday after we get back, so there's only so much celebrating a mom can provide before the celebrating becomes celehating.

I only can think of one more thing to get before Friday...digital camera batteries. I was so upset...I bought a Radio Shack 15 minute charger last year that has special batteries (Radio Shack 15 minute chargeable only, of course) and thought I would go get new ones to have for this trip...threw out the old ones...and when I got to Radio Shack yesterday, the guy tells me that they aren't so easy to come by anymore and then tried to sell me this $30 charger that would charge another kind of battery in 2 hours...uh, I don't need another charger, sir...I WANT MY BATTERIES!!! That poor man didn't know he was dealing with an over-stressed, over-packed, over-waiting-any-more-time-til-time-to-get-in-that-car-to-go-to-the-airport, DIS-addicted, WDW lunatic...I gave him my thoughts about how crappy it is to sell a charger that only charges a certain kind of batteries and then not have the batteries for it to charge. I've decided that I will try to get to BJs and stock up on AA batteries made for electronic devices so I can lug them around at all times.

Packing is almost done, really...just those last-minute, have-to-use-that-day items and our overnight/carryon bag so we can survive without our luggage until they "magically" :wizard: appear in our room from the ME service.

I have to print out some updates for our Yellow Folders, double check that we have all our ids, etc. and then we'll be all ready. Will Friday ever get here?! It's really coming quickly, in fact...makes me worried that the time warp will move even faster once we check into the WL. I'm already in "can't sleep because I have a million and one Disney thoughts running through my head" mode...and at any random moment I can be heard babbling about ADRs, FPs, EMHs, TGM, MGM, MK, EPCOT, AK, ME, ETAs, and etc. My poor Kindergarteners are really going to be confused about the alphabet!!

Only 3 more days --ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I am so excited for you! That, paired with your kindergarten play in the same week, wowsa! What a week! I hope you are able to relax a bit while on vacation. This time we vow to actually RELAX a little more -- it seems that we were on the run constantly last time. There is so much to do!

We tell our kids about the trip this Sunday. I have butterflies in my tummy just leading up to that! :<) I can't wait!

Panotchr -- congrats on the garage sale! How's the lot selection process going? Still married? :<)

Fairy -- I can't wait to see your photos! I hope you'll decide to share a few -- now that you know how to. Make sure you get a photo of everyone in formation marching in step -- notebooks in hand, of course!

I can't remember, are you on the DDP? If so, what TS ADR's do you have?

Maddie2: I'm so excited for you...and proud, too, that you were able to keep this secret for so long. I hope that the kids are just blown away!

I'm exhausted...long day at work getting the kids ready for the play tomorrow...I hope everyone has a great time.

I just wanted to check in to say....2 more days!!!!!

You guys are both so close! I am excited for you. We have two teachers going over Spring Break in just a few days. Our Spring Break starts on the Thursday before Easter We are going to Washington, DC to vist family.

We are 126 days from our trip to WDW, but at least we are getting closer.

We met with our builder today to talk about plans. Our closing on our house is set for April 16th. Wow, this is moving fast!

Fairy: Can't wait to hear about the play. I love Click, Clack, Moo!

Maddie: Can't wait to hear how excited your kids are going to be!

Be sure to take some empty ziplock bags, Fairy. Good for protecting things on wet rides and also for leftovers :)

Hello! I got an email today from our AAA TA today, she has all of our paperwork ready. I will pick it up on Thursday. Her email was funny -- she mentioned that I may need this paperwork as PROOF when we tell the boys on Sunday. She knows DS12 and his inquistive ways! Can't wait to see what WDW trinkets come with our package -- the luggage tags are always so cute.

Panotchr -- Congrats on meeting with the contractor! How exciting for you! And so quickly -- you must be on Cloud 9.

Fairy -- Good luck with the play tomorrow! Safe travels as you make you way to "The World". I hope time stands still for you while you are there -- have fun making memories!

THANK YOU to both of you for getting me through this time of "not telling our boys we are going to WDW!!" (for lack of a better term). It has been difficult, but being able to come on here and gab/blab/celebrate has been SO very helpful.

Maddie: Just a few more days until you spill your secret! I am glad we have "found" each other too. Makes the planning so much more fun to share it with folks that love doing it too.

Fairy: I am excited for you! How did the play go? We can't wait to hear all the details of your trip when you get back. Take notes! ha ha

I finally finished assessing all of the kids in my class for their report cards today. Whew that is a big job.

The inspector comes tomorrow to check out the house and the appraiser comes on Monday. Moving right along here....

You guys be good.

Fairy... If I don't see you.. have a wonderful, safe trip. Tell Mickey and Minnie hi for me and Maddie and tell them we will be there soon. :)

Eat some good things for us and take lots of pictures.

xoxoxo

Hi, guys! Well, I am proud to say that the play was a HUGE hit!! The kids did so well...I was just beaming with pride!!! I feel like the stress of the week is over now...just have to get through tomorrow and Friday and then we're off! Tomorrow I am starting some assessments, myself, Kelly....yes, they are a LOT of work...I'm hoping to see big growth in the kids. We don't have report cards again until June, but we have Parent/Teacher conferences April 19th and 20th. So, I have the rest of them do finish up after Spring Break. I'm only going to do the whole-group/easier assessments tomorrow just to get them done and out of the way as a head start for when we come back.
I'm excited about your house building plans, Kelly...I wish I could do some things over in my own house...it would be fun to start all over knowing what I know now!
Maddie2: I'll be thinking of you on Sunday. Again, I admire your ability to keep a secret!
I'm glad I can count both of you among my DIS friends...it's so nice to check in with you guys and to know that you aren't going to make fun of my obsessive compulsive planning or love of WDW!
I will be sure to take lots of pics and do my best to remember every moment of the trip so I can come back and report. I will probably check in one more time tomorrow...I know I won't be able to sleep tomorrow night even though I have to work the next day...so I'll save the "hasta la vista" for then. Thanks for being my pre-trip report buddies!

OK - I'm joining in!!! Have a great trip - before I know it, you'll be back! :rotfl2:

I can't wait to hear how everything goes!

And a special "hi" to Kelly in NC - long time, no type!

Jamie... Hey girl. Glad you are here. It has been tooooo long. Hope those feet are feeling good.

The Kindergarten team worked together today to do all the assessments for one of our fellow teachers. Her dad has been sent home with Hospice and she is out for the time being. We were so proud of ourselves for coming together to get them done today. I am so fortunate to have such a great group of friends to teach with every day. It was a great feeling to spread a little magic our friend's way. Her family is supposed to be going to WDW over our Spring Break and the doctors told her to take him if he is up to it. It is his lifelong dream to visit Africa and the AKL is the closest he'll get at this point. There are 12 of them going for 8 days if it all goes as planned. Keep them in your thoughts if you will.

Anywho.....I am still hoping that free dining comes out during our visit. Will help the ol' budget. Heck, the savings will buy me a new stove! :)

Fairy.... getting closer. Be safe... have fun...

Maddie: Sunday is getting closer too. I can't wait to hear how they react.

Jamie: Keep on joining us. So glad to see you :)

xoxoxo

Hi, Jamie! Glad to have you join us! I hope you, Kelly, and Maddie2 all keep up the thread while I'm away!

Kelly, you are very blessed, indeed to work with fellow teachers who can take care of each other! God love your friend's family and I will not only keep them in my thoughts, I will say a prayer for them...that they are able to make the most of this trip together and that they keep each other strong during this difficult time.

Okay...well, here I sit, hardly believing that this time tomorrow I will be standing in a line at the airport, getting ready to go to WDW!!! It felt at times that this day would never come.

I talked to Eeyore today and she's all set and they are all excited, too. I just had dinner with Tumor and other than feeling a sore throat coming on, she's excited, too.

I have to pack our overnight bag and double check everything...I'll have to go to CVS during one of my planning periods tomorrow to get some new makeup and toothpaste. Gunner, our maniac of a 9 month old black lab, decided to raid my makeup bag last night...destroyed a compact and had a taste of the toothpaste...he's just lucky he didn't decide to chew them up on my brand new couch!! He did, however, get tiny, miniscule shards of glass all in our bed last night...oh, well...the sheets hadn't been changed since Tuesday (I am a once-a-week-sheet-changer...I know that was a hot topic of discussion awhile back on the DIS...right about the time WDW started leaving notes that they will change your sheets every 3 days to conserve water...so, to those of you who are saying...ewwww...well, you don't have to sleep in my sheets! lol)

I will double check the yellow folder and here in about an hour and a half I can do the online airline checkin...then it's really going to feel even more real!! Well, I guess I'd better get to work...I do have school tomorrow and traveling with the whole kindergarten to see a play...don't want to be dead tired come tomorrow night.

As I said before, you guys keep in touch with each other while I'm away...I know you will. Maddie2, I will think of you Sunday and send lots of pixie dust your way as you break the surprise to the boys!! Kelly, enjoy your trip to D.C. ... it's one of my other favorite places to visit and it should be pretty nice there this time of year! Jamie, keep these two talkin' and I'll go check out your pre-trippie...I can see by your signature that you are old hat at this stuff so I can't wait to see what your trips have been like!

Hasta la vista, XOXOXO, I'll say hi to the Mouse and all his friends!
Amy

LOL! If you can't sleep tonight - I think my reports can take you all the way through the night! They get longer from the first to the last... :rotfl:

Have a great trip - I can't wait to hear all about it! I am totally addicted to trip reports!

Jamie...how did you know that I can NEVER sleep the night before a trip??? I'll be up enjoying your reports...finished the current pre-trip one and it sounds like about a month from now you and your friends will be having one heck of a time!! Now I can't wait to read the reports from your previous trips to catch up!

Fairy -- Have a wonderful trip! I can't believe it's already here -- you must be pinching yourself! Good luck getting through your school day tomorrow. I can't wait to read all about it. I hope you able to get some sleep tonight -- pleasant dreams!

Panotchr - We will be thinking of your friend's family and praying for them as well. Thank goodness for AKL - I'm sure they will have a lovely family time there.

I told someone about our trip today and now I'm just hoping and praying that the news doesn't make it back to DS9 before Sunday. If that were to happen after keeping it a secret for so long -- oh, my, that would just be awful. Cross your fingers for us! This keeping the secret is getting more and more difficult!

DH is out of town this evening and we need to scoot to drama practice at the church for our Good Friday service. Bye everyone!

P.S. Amy and Kelly -- you don't have to call me Maddie2 or Maddie -- you can call me Lisa. :<) Maddie is a nickname from college. I need to come up with a more Disney-esque userid -- I'll have to think about that while we are at WDW in 20 days!

Lisa, Amy, Jamie.... :)

We are going to need our own little trip to Disney together. Can you see us planning that one????

:)
