He has finally gotten it that no...I'm not moving there...
The riots nailed the final nail in that coffin...

Which is why I was hoping the next day off would be a time we could talk as we've had kind of emails talking about what we need to talk about...but no....he's out...

Oh well....
Guess I'll turn in. Looks like I'm not even getting an "I've arrived" message...

Night

queenie82 - Hope you hear something today. Fingers crossed...Is there a smilie for that?

Work is zipping along and keeping me distracted from the DIS :surfweb:but I'll check in again later if I can.

Good morning. Sunshine and smiles for everyone.

I could ask what you mean but I'm heading over to your PTR now. I noticed you had an update up.

Sleep well.

another day in the salt mines tomorrow.....2 more work days and then I'm taking 2 weeks leave to coincide with DS' school holidays. :yay:

I meant that I'm not up to spending 8-9 hours in a park all day. :faint:

Hump day morning. Running out to the salt mines very soon....but last for now.

Two more working days before I finish up this contract. I have zero motivation today.

I need to download some files and start packing up my desk! :yay:

:wave2:

I see Avatar is "coming soon" to DAK. 5 year project! :confused3
Yes I saw that. In 5years time Avatar will be very old. The way technology is going.
It isn't a classic film. Nice but not the lasting power to Jurrasic Park...a film also ground breaking at it's time.

I personally think Australia land (along the lines of Asia etc) or Beastly kingdom would be a far better investment.

As well as fixing disco yeti :headache:

I'm only just on the train now. Should be at my desk in around 15mins. I hope that's what they meant by sleep in ;) *** I really could have easily stayed in bed longer.

It's tidy up day today. We have documents all over the place. One set of what I've produced is about 130 sheets....A3....and we've had to do so many reruns all of us due to errors picked up. Just glad the actual submission is electronic for the recipients to print off for themselves
Yep. I'm the one destroying the rainforest :lmao:

Hope you have a good day. I understand lacking motivation. Sounds like you should be proud of yourself though :)

I do tend to agree, nice movie and still the largest grossing movie of all time to date...except that there is another Avatar movie in the works and who knows how many more after that. The timing of the land might just coincide with Avatar 3. And who knows if it will eventually turn into a classic series? Afterall, when Star Wars came out in 1978...no one could have predicted where it would end up 30 years later.

It will just depend on how the theming works out and what the rides turn out like.

Look at it this way - I'm sure that when Harry Potter world was floated at Universal, people said the same things. Harry Potter, afterall, is a children's book series. And now that the series is completed, it just remains to see over time if the books still have the appeal in 20 or 30 years time.

My AKL thread is all atwitter with this news.

And what is the feeling - good, bad or indifferent for DAK?

The thing about it to me is the lack of a classic story line...
Star wars had a very traditional story line...just set in a galaxy far far away...

Harry potter is a very traditional story also set in a fantasy world

Avatar is focused so much on the technology and being an environmentalist...
I care about the environment but I'm not a fan of it being so blatant.
Independence day, the war of the worlds, etc.. Still featured classic story lines.
The fascination with titanic continues but exhibitions is all it has achieved. Any 'attraction' hasn't lasted.
Jurrasic park survives because there will always be a fascination with dinosaurs...(I just love watching Japanese male tourists in suits get soaked :rolleyes1)

I'm really not happy about this taking 5 years...that is a lot of effort for a movie attraction like this :confused3

It's funny at Paris...mainly because they have nothing better to put in...the movie based attraction on featuring special effects is still there many years after Armageddon came out...
But again...
Space...love...

Yes avatar has the love story but an attraction taking 5 years it does not make

I think the story line in avatar appeals to a completely demographic to you and me. DH LOVES the movie and a lot of his (male) friends do too....:confused3

But if you boil it down....good vs evil war fight in a fantasy world (far, far away), with a love interest thrown in. Pretty classic plots there as well.

As for being an enviromentalist.....aren't you printing out documents and cutting down trees today??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Still, if we knew where we would be in 5 years time, we'd all be earning a heap more money than we are now....and certainly not doing our escapism trip from work on the Dis. :rotfl:

I'm glad to see AK getting something.

I wouldn't want it to get Oz. America is too full of Oz after having seen Crocodile Dundee. ;)
