It's ALL About the Food (We go to WDW to eat and drink!!) ~ October 2009 TR

We are seriously thinking of canceling our Rose & Crown ADR for our last day. We looked at the menu and probably would order the Fish & Chips and dessert. We could get the fish at Harry Ramsden's for half the price and have many desserts to choose from at the F&W kiosks.

But, we could also share the fish & chips the sticky toffee bread pudding at R&C for lunch and then have many things (desserts included) to choose from as an afternoon snack before our towncar picks us up about 4:15. Maybe we will keep the ADR anyway! :rotfl:

I'm bummed by the wee little R&C menu myself, and that's why I didn't book there. I wonder what the big difference is between the CS fish and chips and the R&C ones?:confused3

I think CS is smaller but it has been a while since we were there. I will say that there is an updated menu on AllEars that lists Shepherd Pie back on the menu. We will see?!? :confused3

Hi Elin, I think there is no harm in keeping the R&C ADR for lunch. You can always check out the menu once you are at WDW. I think as long as you think you might want to eat there it is fair to keep the ADR and it is not for the highly coveted evening Illuminations time. :goodvibes

We ( DH and myself)will be there Oct 15th-23rd. We are DVC members and our first time at BCV's I will try to get an EPCOT view too...
This will be our 10th F&W. We normally stay at Boardwalk but decided to try someplace different.
We managed to get ADR's at Le Cellier and are going to PFTS...no fancy lounge for us... Then wing it...LOVE foraging around the world!!!
It is all about the food... :cool1:

Great PTR! I love the title! Haha, though for me, it's all about the booze! I'm going to WDW to drink! :drinking1

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait to read more!

Thanks for reading along! You will love BCV. A woods view is also a good choice. It still puts you on that side of the villas and have easier access to that back walkway. ;)

Welcome aboard too! I see it is your first trip... you will LOVE it!!

We love to drink too, but I figured I would put a slightly different slant on this one this time. But, maybe I need to amend the title a little in your honor.... I will have another glass of wine and think about that... :rotfl2:

And I did... thanks to you for the inspiration. ;)

Thanks for confirming I ought to keep it, Magdalene. Love it when my friends can solidify my brainstorming without using my brain! :lmao:

Yes, It is also about the wine .. I think I will pour another glass too.... woo-hoo :rotfl:

I have been a busy girl this morning. I tried, unsuccessfully, yesterday to book the Wishes Dessert Party. After reading on the Fireworks Buffet thread about the conflict with DDP and booking that thing, I called back. I got a CM who assured me she knew how to book this and she was right. I still could not get our first choice of dates, but I was able to book October 5, so I grabbed it. I will need to tweak some dinner ADRs now, but that is not a huge problem.

I also spent quite a while researching the Wineries and chefs who will be presenting seminars while we are there. I chose 4 wine seminars and the Warren Brown/Mary Myers "Cake Love" culinary demnstration/wine presentation for now. Bob won't go so these are just for me! I may look at our schedule even more closely later on to see if there is anything else that piques my interest too.

I will update the first post after all the ADRs are moved around too. :)

Just noticed the link in your signature and came right over! Sorry I'm late! :flower3:

Cheers!

No penalty for being late, Michelle! I am still tweaking and rearranging so you really haven't missed a whole heck of a lot yet! Thanks for coming over! :goodvibes

I'm glad you got into the dessert party. I'm going one night of my trip too, and am so excited for it.

I just noticed that some of the seminars on the advance registration page are different from those printed in the Festival Guide. Normally that wouldn't have made any difference to me, but when I was looking online a little while ago the name BEAM jumped off the page at me.

Bob and I both like bourbon. A lot. So when I presented him with the possibility of doing a seminar that was definitely to his liking he agreed to go! :yay: So I now have added that on October 3. I will add all this stuff in when I am done messing around. :rotfl: But I am very excited that I get to share one of the seminars with him. If I can't make the quick turnaround from the Beam Seminar to the Warren Brown presentation I will skip Mr. Brown. It is not often I get to do this kind of thing with my husband! :lovestruc

More changes that need to be posted on the front page / first post. Working on that now!

Enjoying your PTR. Your plans sound exciting. :goodvibes I can't imagine having two December trips.:woohoo:

I've got my list of ADRs ready for next Sunday. I'm going to try to make my reservations on-line and hope that my computer doesn't act up.

How are Bob and the girls doing?

Kathy

I am glad I don't have to book our December ADRs for a couple of weeks. My friends and I aren't doing any ADRs for our 48 hour trip the first weekend in December.

I hope your computer doesn't give you fits next Sunday either! (We ought to exchange info just in case and I could help out. ;) )

The girls and Bob are doing fine. Our older DD came home last weekend so we got to spend some time together which is rare. Thanks for asking, Kathy. And thanks for reading along. I really appreciate it! :goodvibes

The Warren Brown thing should be awesome.:thumbsup2 I love his cookbook, I get so many compliments when I bake his cakes.

I am hoping that it is as awesome as we both think it will be. :thumbsup2 I wanted to do the Sweet Sundays event the next day but DH just wasn't interested and I felt it was a bit much to spend on just one of us this trip. So, this was my compromise. I will certainly let you all know! :rotfl:
