It's ALL About the Food (We go to WDW to eat and drink!!) ~ October 2009 TR

Over the weekend there was a rumor running rampant on these boards that the MK Fireworks Dessert Buffet was going to be extended into early 2010. I had saved an night on the October trip for that just in case.

But, as of 7:30 this morning, it has not yet been announced nor can the CMs see anywhere in their systems that it will be announced or that they can book it. <<sigh>> How come WDW can't get their "body parts" to work together? This was a credible rumor, so I think it will eventually be a fact. There ought to be an easy way to put a notation in CRO's computers under that link that says "will be extended until 01/03/2010 and bookings will be permitted after 08/??/2009." How hard would that be?!?!?

Hi Elin, I have been away for a few days, therefore I am late to your PTR! Your plans look great! I loved our dinner at Flying Fish in January, it was so great. And while we did not have Bob as our server (even though I was supposed to request him by Bensmom's instructions), we watched him tending to a very complicated table... He was fantastic. By the way, our server was wonderful, too!

The towncar sounds great. I am thinking about doing that in January as well. It would be nice, but then it isn't cheap either... :confused3 Well, I still have some time to make up my mind.

I think I read a review of Rose & Crown recently where someone wrote that the Shepherd's Pie is no longer served, it is a combination of lamd dishes now (pie and cutlet???) Perhaps it might be worth it to verify that so Bob (if I write about him, would he then be yourBob???) won't be dissapointed.

Hi, Magdalene! :wave2:

Glad you found my PTR! If you want to write about myBob then the correct conjugation would, indeed, be yourBob. :rotfl2:

The towncar runs about $130 with tip which is much cheaper than a car rental and more direct than ME. Add to that the grocery stop and it seemed like the best idea for us for October.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Shepherd's pie at R & C. I will check into the menus. We can always change our minds! :thumbsup2

Apparently it's very complicated. Disney seems to have the hardest time doing things like this, and it really should be quite simple. If the pictures of the desserts I'd seen hadn't looked so good, I wouldn't even be worrying about it, but mini bite-size gourmet desserts are one of my weaknesses.

bummer that there's still no definitive answer about the dessert party being extended. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works out for you. :goodvibes

I would be really intrested your review of your dinner at Chefs De France...I have ADR there on Oct 23rd for dinner and I cant wait!

Even after all these years and all these trips I get so excited when I think of going to a Disney park that sometimes I have trouble sleeping at night or wake up in the middle of the night all giddy. That was last night. Our older DD is visiting for the weekend and the talk eventually turned to WDW (surprise!) before we all headed to bed about 12:30 this morning. I woke up at about 3:00 with butterflies in my tummy and had trouble going back to sleep. I am not one to remember my dreams so maybe I was dreaming about WDW or DL and got so excited that it woke me up. I don't know. But I love that it still has that effect on me. :lovestruc

I'll be getting the " I'm too 'cited to sleep " feeling in about three weeks. Can';t wait!!

My Fred's eyes roll back in his head when he hears me say "So, I've been thinking....." :rotfl: He's also learned to be extremely wary when I start something off by saying "Wouldn't it be nice if..." because he knows that one means I already made up my mind and am simply looking to both inform him of my plans and get an affirmation of approval in return-not necessarily his honest opinion. ;)

I hope we hear some real news on the dessert party. We want to do this as well.

I get all giddy and excited too. Now come the night before we leave for Disney, I never sleep. I think its great we can all still have something that makes us feel like kids again with that anticipation.

Ooh, I just saw that you guys are leaving the day we arrive. Maybe if we get lucky we will run into each other before you head home. Epcot is always our first stop. :thumbsup2

I am the exact some way. The other day I got so giddy thinking about Disney, and how I'd be there soon. Excited is an understatement for me. :goodvibes

Isn't this the common bond we all share and the reason we have all found each other?.......::yes:::thumbsup2

I'm in! :) Love to hear about other peoples plans!

Thanks for joining in!

Kat - you are right... that is what led us all here in the first place, I think. And it is always nice to hear that other people feel exactly the same way you do, isn't it?? ::yes:: :goodvibes

I'm in! Better late than never. But some of us were busy visiting the World when you started this PTR. ;) :snooty:

Which is one reason it was started at that particular point. :snooty: :p
