It's ALL About the Food (We go to WDW to eat and drink!!) ~ October 2009 TR

I just noticed that some of the seminars on the advance registration page are different from those printed in the Festival Guide. Normally that wouldn't have made any difference to me, but when I was looking online a little while ago the name BEAM jumped off the page at me.

Bob and I both like bourbon. A lot. So when I presented him with the possibility of doing a seminar that was definitely to his liking he agreed to go! :yay: So I now have added that on October 3. I will add all this stuff in when I am done messing around. :rotfl: But I am very excited that I get to share one of the seminars with him. If I can't make the quick turnaround from the Beam Seminar to the Warren Brown presentation I will skip Mr. Brown. It is not often I get to do this kind of thing with my husband! :lovestruc

That sounds like so much fun :goodvibes

I'm hopping aboard. Love your reporting style and it's so fun to see how other people do the Wine and Food Fest. We will also be there during the time you are, so we may run into you. :goodvibes

Thanks so much for coming on board! I hope we do run into one another on our trips. That would be wonderful.

When will you be leaving that day? Maybe we will run into one another. I would love that!!

We arrive at 9am on the 8th. Most likely will spend the day in Epcot since that is SOP for our first day.

Elin,

It sounds like your trip planning is going well-Congrats on your Wishes Dessert Party and your Bourbon Seminar with yourBob-that sounds like a lot of fun...:goodvibes-you have a lot of fabulous sounding ADRs- going to Disney without kids actually sounds like a pretty good time:lmao:-I have to try it sometime... probably not for a little bit though...:rolleyes1 (All of those great seminars are calling out to me...:goodvibes)

Something I realized is that the F & W Festival might be a nice thing for Emily's grandparents to be able to go to (I want to try to get them to come to Em's B-Day at DW next year) and I know it would appeal to them in a way some of the thrill rides wouldn't...;) I may have missed it...but is there a link to the F & W events...?

We did manage to have some very nice glasses on wines on our trip (Jiko, Sanaa, Chefs...,etc.)...you were right...Jiko really does have quite an impressive selection...:goodvibes

We leave that day, but will likely do the F&W kiosks as a last hurrah. Hopefully we will run into one another!

Patricia - I am glad you liked the selections at Jiko. It is amazing, isn't it? I don't remember if I said they have the largest selection of South African wines outside of South Africa. In the entire world! Kind of amazing.

I also think that Emily's grandparents couldn't help but love the F&W Festival. When is Em's BDay? Could the trips be one and the same? I have included the link to the Festival brochure below. It tells you everything that is offered throughout the 6 weeks. But it might be overwhelming! Enjoy looking. :goodvibes

I think the very best way to go to WDW is with your children (or even someone else's child, in a pinch) to see their faces. I will never forget the faces of little ones we have taken. Second best way is to go as an adult. With friends or with family it is a completely different way to view the World. I hope it is not too long before you have the opportunity to see it through different eyes. :)

Elin,

Thanks for that link...I had no idea how involved/large the F&W festival is! There are quite a few events I would love to go to myself...

And yes...the F & W Festival would run during her b-day-she's a Oct. 7th (& DH is actually an Oct. 5th and our anniversary in Oct. 8th) soooo if we planned something next October for her 16th-we'd be able to do the Halloween Party and there would be all those amazing F& W events for the grandparents to attend...BRILLIANT...

Thank You...:goodvibes

(now the only problem will be figuring out how to get it all in...I was originally planning to do a long weekend 5 days, 4 nights...since she's in HS-I don't want her to miss too much time...-WE'll just have to be selective...:confused3)

Thanks again...

Looking forward to more PTR...popcorn::

Patricia - With careful planning you can get a lot in. Just remember that the kiosks at the F&W Festival are busiest during the weekends, so plan to try to get there on days that are not Saturday and Sunday! :)

Hiya Elin! Just stopping in to say hello. :goodvibes Glad to see you that you were able book a dessert party ... can't wait to hear all about it! :thumbsup2

Hi, Brenda! :wave2: That makes two of us. I was happy you got yours booked too. There aren't a lot of things left at WDW that we haven't done, so this will be nice. I will be certain to give you an update as soon as I get home so you know what to expect when you go! :goodvibes

Hello Hello! i am loving your pretrip report and I feel that I may need to go out and buy some stretchie pants for this trip. :lmao:I have never been to the F&W festivel before and I am really looking forward to it!

We will be at Sci Fi for lunch on the 5th as well..we have never eaten there before either..

We will have to look for one another! I am starting my additional walking regimen already to make up for the extra calories we all know will be consumed that week. ;) Thanks for reading along. :goodvibes
