Day 2. Part 6.
We wandered a bit and decided to stick around Liberty Square for Spectromagic. I was very excited about Spectro and really couldn't wait to see it. As we were wandering around we couldn't decide where to sit.
Another castle photo op from the bridge.
What did we come across? Two wonderful, beautiful white rocking chairs on a porch right near the parade route. We scooped up those beauties very quickly. You know when you spot something across the way and then you get all panicky that someone is going to get there before you do? Well I raced over to those rocking chairs in a manner that was quick yet trying not to attract too much attention. No easy feat in Disney. During Free Dining. When you know 50 bazillion DISers are there.
Our view from the porch.
I don't know if this was timed or just a coincidence but after sitting there for about 3 minutes, the porch light was turned on. It was so sweet and nice to be sitting with my new husband waiting for the parade to start.
I tried to do a stitch assist picture with us on the porch but alas, I couldn't get it to match up right once we were home. So now you have two odd pictures of us on the porch.
I didn't take that many pictures of Spectro because I was recording portions of it. Which I still haven't uploaded. Sorry!
Very few photos. I feel like a failure. I loved the parade and had the Spectro music stuck in my head for days. I just really thought it was well done. I am glad I finally got to watch it. My favorite parts were the Little Mermaid characters and the fairies from Sleeping Beauty. Sadly, no great pictures. I am working on the videos!
After the parade we went to the Riverboat area to get EMH bracelets. We walked onto the Haunted Mansion. There were a few annoying teenagers in our group and one kept trying to freak me out during the stretching room. I know it wasn't the CM because I know to watch those sneaky little buggers. It was the kids. Towards the end of ride, all the vehicles stopped. For about five mintues we are sitting in the cemetary scene right before you exit for the hitchhiking ghosts. There was one of those stupid popping up faces right next to me. After the 100th time it pops up, I freak out on the 101st. I let out a scream. Seriously, the thing kept popping up but apparently I only had a 100 time threshold. DH is still teasing me about it. Soon we were on our way.
We headed over to Adventureland and walked on Pirates again. I still freaked out at the drop and DH still laughed at me. One of those pirates really looks like Abe Lincoln in the jail scene! At this point we were tired. Exhausted was more like it. We walked to the Castle Hub leisurely.
Marc and I sat on a bench. It was enjoyable. We sat there, staring at the Castle and it was nice to just be there. I thought of a lot of things, how different my life is then from what I thought it would be growing up, how lucky I am, how much I love my husband, how I was happy. It was a great feeling to feel all those things while looking at the Castle. I was in my happy place in more ways than one. We sat there for around 20 minutes just enjoying each other and enjoying the Disney magic.
We hit up two different photopass photographers on our way out.
We decided we had enough of the MK for now. It made me a little sad that we didn't take advantage of the EMH's more but oh well. That trek from Main Street to the Pop bus stop is L O O O O N G. I thought we were never going to get there. I looked towards the boat stop and the WL bus stop with envy. Wishing we were already staying there. Luckily there was a bus already waiting and they were waiting for more people so we were able to board. I was able to get a seat and Marc stood. There were some very nice ladies on the bus that we were able to chat with. Makes the bus ride go by quicker. Only at Disney do you start conversations with complete strangers. They noticed my Birthday Button and that is how the conversation started.
Once we got back to Pop, the pool looked so inviting. We changed and went for a swim. There were about 4 or 5 other people in the pool at this time. It was really nice. The pool became the place that Marc and I would sit and chat about our favorite things of the day and also about our plans for the next day. This is where we tweaked a lot of our plans. After our swim, we showered and went to bed by 2:30AM.
Phew! Day 2 is complete!
Who joins us for lunch on Day 3?
