Day 3. Part 1. Continued.
Throughout our entire meal I took an insane amount of aquarium pictures. I am probably only showing you half of the ones I took!
Mr. Sea Turtle had gotten up to get some more air and he was back again, next to our table.
For dessert I ordered the Jack Daniel's Bailey Mousse thing.
It was good but too rich for me. I also felt like I had buzz by the time I hate half of it. Even Marc thought it was a little "strong".
Marc had the Key Lime Tart.
I was immediatly jealous that I hadn't gotten that once I tried it. He was a good husband and let me have a few bites.
After our meal, Marc kept saying that Coral Reef was the best one we had yet at WDW. He was very happy and was asking if we could go again next trip. I, on the other hand enjoyed our experience very much. But I think there are other places I would like to try first before going back to Coral Reef.
We were off to Soarin' to use our Fastpasses! I was so excited to ride it. Ironically, even though we had Fastpasses this was the ride that we waited the longest for. Go figure. The CM's kept telling us that there were "cloudy conditions" which irritated Marc greatly. Somebody had his cranky pants on. The solo lady from lunch came out of the line, she must have been further up than us and told us very helpfully, "It's broken." Thankfully that was the last time we saw her. We probably waited about 25 - 30 minutes to ride this and of course we were behind the most annoying people ever. Whose son kept playing with the metal chain and then it kept breaking apart slapping peoples legs. Sigh. After the 3rd time I was ready to speak to him but I don't do that to strange children so I resisted. A couple of people back was this real rough looking biker dude with a leather vest that was full length down to the ground. I was thinking to myself, wow he is hardcore and then I reailzed that he had Disney Pins on every surface of the vest as well as his leather cowboy hat. This amused me greatly. A CM came out and told us one of the ride seatbelts had broken so they had to remedy the situation. Marc's seatbelt anxiety went up, he was really afraid the belt wouldn't fit him. So we finally get into line and watch the preflight video. I just loved Patrick Warburton, he was great. We laughed, we were ready for take off.
We got into the theater and it's just amazing. Really. Marc and I watch the Travel Channel constantly and we have seen the guy who came up with the Soarin idea with his erector set explain it 50 million times. Marc does a great impression of him as we laugh and mock the poor imagineer. In fact as we were walking in, Marc started his erector set speech which had me in giggles. We get to our row and Marc's seatbelt is locked. He can't get it unfastened. He is in panic mode, like the ride is going to take off without him. I told him that a CM would be around and that it would be taken care of. Which is what happend. We did read about a tip on allears about pulling the seatbelt all the way out before sitting down and we did do this and it was helpful. The seatbelts were huge though and we both had plenty of extra room to spare. It was hard getting the seatbelt fastenend as you couldn't really see but we managed.
I was amazed by the fact that you could leave your shoes on the floor. I am simple, I can admit it. Finally we were ready for takeoff. Man. What an amazing ride. Simply amazing. We were in the back row so of course we didn't go up as high as the first row, next time we go I am going to request the front row. Not that we had a bad ride or anything but I want a better effect. As we were getting off the ride and walking out to the Land pavillion, Marc said, "I feel bad for making fun of the Imagineer Guy. He really knew what he was doing." I laughed. Sadly, I have not heard the Imagineer Guy impression again. *Sniff Sniff*
We decided that we wanted to head back to Pop since we had a late night ahead of us at Hollywood Studios. Marc wanted to purchase a straw hat at Mousegears so he went in to look for that and I went in to purchase the pink pirate mickey ears hat. Sadly they only ha dchild sizes and I wasn't in to making my larger head look even smaller. We did buy a Mickey Mouse shaped ice cube tray. I love those Mickey Mouse ice cubes. They put a little Disney into my ice water everyday.
We rode Spaceship Earth again. It was enjoyable and we made funny faces. We also walked right on. Not a single moment of waiting.
Why? I just don't get the go-go boots with yellow tights and a plaid skirt.
We sat in our own cars so that's why we have seperate pictures.
We went into another store on the way out in search of my Pink Pirate Ears, and alas they didn't have any. I did find some cute pink sparkly mouse ear boppers for only $6. I thought this was immense bargain and immediatly purchased them along with a postcard that is long with all the characters on it. It hangs in my work cubicle now. I'm all about bringing Disney to real life.
We took some photopass pictures on the way out.
We waited about 10 minutes for a bus and were back to Pop by 3:30. We wanted to go for a swim but the 50's pool was closed. We decided to trek over to Hippy Dippy. It was crowded but enjoyable. I really enjoyed the Flower Jets. It was nice to have water sprayed on you. After our shower we chilled in the room a bit. I thought we took a nap this day but I don't have that written down. Hmmm. Oh well. Anyways, after our swim we showered and left our room at 6:30PM for our night at Hollywood Studios.
What DISer did I take a picture for at DHS?
What spontaneous ADR did we make?
Where does LL have a snit fit?
