It's a Great Big Beautiful Trip Report

Oh Wow

I just found your report and spent all night and this morning reading it. It was like an extra present under the tree for me. :cloud9: I needed a quick disney vacation to come down from all the holiday hoopla. :)

The Polynesian Resort looks so beautiful. I hope to stay there someday and I loved your Halloween costume. Just Fantastic. I will be looking forward to hearing about the rest of all your trips.

Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! And to be like an extra present...for a Christmas girl like me, that's a top end compliment!

I wanted to stay at the Poly for years before I finally found a way to do it. Now of course I'm totally hooked. :thumbsup2

Stay tuned - I hope to get more of September done and start December later this week!

Yaay I can not wait for more. Actually because of your report I am thinking of the CBR for our next trip (that I dream about) that I may actually book for next year. Your photo's were so beautiful, I have never considred that resort before because i heard it was soooooo big and hard to get around.

Can you suggest a certain location that is near the pool but with nice views. :confused3 Any advise you may have would be great. THANK YOU :goodvibes

Now, this is a trip report that I can 100% relate to- I already feel like I am right there with you, and I'm only on Day 1!!!!!!!!! It sounds like we have much the same interests, planning styles, reasons for going, reasons for going back, again and again, and much the same amazement each and every trip. I'm really going to savor your trip over the next few hours, from many, many time zones away. :happytv: and dream of my next trip not less than 2 years away. :rolleyes1

My favorite villages are Aruba and Jamaica, because they are a pretty walk just across the bridge from Old Port Royale and the main pool but don't involve the extra cost of the preferred locations. I've usually gotten my request for one of the two. Where you wind up does make a difference. If you are assigned to the farthest corner of Trinidad it is quite a hike to the food and pool and the internal shuttle doesn't always work well for people. I rent a car so I am not subject to the vicissitudes of the buses.

Thanks for reading, and happy dreams!

Circus girl -

I have some serious catching up to do on your trip report, but your pics are fabulous. I sooooooo want to take a trip in September. I can't wait to go back and read more!

Thanks Circus Girl. We drive down so we will have a car. :goodvibes
Have a nice day and Happy New Year!:woohoo:

Hi MEK! :wave2:
September was amazing. I didn't mind the heat and loved loved loved the super low crowds and seeing the Halloween decorations.

Loved your TR! Very well written! It looks like that you are headed back in just 3 days if your ticker is right! If so, have a perfectly, pixie-dust filled, fantabulous time! I'll look for a TR when you get back :goodvibes

Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I actually have a few more days to add to September and all of my December trip yet to come, as well as the chronicle of my January adventures once I've had them.

Thanks also for the excellent good wishes for my next trip! This upcoming trip will be mostly spent at a conference, but I have play days at the beginning and end, as well a dinner at Victoria and Albert's (I just got the confirmation call yesterday - yay!) and some fun evening plans. My conference is at the Marriott, so it's a short commute from my happy berth at the Poly to work for the week. I can't wait to be drinking in the views, the music floating out of every lamp and bush and the whoosh of the Monorail going by.

I apologize to my readers for the suspension of trip report activity during the holiday madness. I miss cozy evenings spent crafting the report and look forward to catching up once I'm home again.

Circusgirl, I hope you'll have a blast at V&As! We just went on this past trip, and the food was delish. But I felt very underdressed, as most of the women were wearing heels (I was in flats), fancy dresses (some of them floor length!), and "statement jewelry" (that statement being, "I have a boatload of money"). Seriously, they all looked like they were going to dinner at the White House! But again, the food was really special, and I hope it will be an awesome experience for you! :goodvibes

I love to dress up, but despite best of intentions and even wardrobe on hand, I often show up at the California Grill in park clothes while everybody else looks like they stepped out of Town and Country Magazine. I always feel a little like I straggled into a grand lodge from a backpacking trip. It kills me to bring a pair of shoes that I will wear exactly once.

The Pirate and Princess Party did reveal how fun it is to ride on the Monorail in a tiara, so perhaps I will use that image to be inspired about my outfit!

I am super excited about the meal. I ate there for the first time in December and felt like I was in a temple of food.

OMG- so much to look forward to! No pressure. Life has seriously gotten in the way of my DIS'ing lately. But I'll be here when you're ready! :goodvibes

When we last saw our intrepid adventuress she was on the trail of dreams at Animal Kingdom, about to go once again on Safari...

Then she was interrupted by only good things like another trip to the World, Christmas, another trip to the world, learning everything possible about making a trip to Disneyland, working a whole lot and doing a huge house project. She finds herself now sitting at her computer and reaching out to her poor neglected readers..

I haven't diminished in my will to finish this trip report and then follow it with several more, but I just haven't had the free time to work on it. I'm even falling down on replying to the reports I read regularly.

There's so much to tell! Even on my little mini trip in January I had the coolest of cast member experiences; a beautiful evening at the Grand Floridian telling stories in the lobby with a little girl named Natalie; and huge fun in the parks, all of which I'm dying to recount.

My extra special incredible double lucky extra Disney dorky news is that I'm heading to Disneyland this Friday in the wee hours of the morning. (My plane lands at 9:06 am.) I can't wait to experience the special magic of Walt's original creation, and to take thousands of pictures and write everything down! I'll be staying at the Grand Californian, eating at Napa Rose, Cafe Orleans, Steakhouse 55, Carnation Cafe, the Plaza and the Blue Bayou, and running around like a happy crazy person until my return on Monday in the evening. I've even got a meet with one of my Adventurosity Club friends!

I'll have material for months after this, and I'll be back as soon as I can after my trip to get us all back on the trail.

I appreciate your faithfulness and promise there is lots of good stuff to come!
I'm loving your report and pictures in the meantime...

Just waiting for more!!

You know we can't wait...:hourglass

Hi Marshay!
I miss hanging out here and look forward to things finally settling down when I quit going somewhere every five minutes.
I hope you and the baby are great, and look forward to hearing about her in future trip reports!

You have certainly had some exciting months here!

Enjoy Disneyland and you know we'll be waiting to hear more about all your trips!

Disneyland - WOW - have a great time!!!!!:thumbsup2

I will be thinking of all of you!

I'm trying to keep a super good attitude as the weather for Anaheim is showing rain and mid-60s for highs most of my days there (in contrast to the summery temperatures they had last week). I know - I'm a west coast weather weenie now after 17 years of Boston winters. I hope rain translates to a less crowded park on the weekend, and it will still be 20 degrees warmer than Seattle. With any luck their weather reports are as unreliable as Seattle's!

Disneyland, too? I am jealous!! I'll just have to continue to live vicariously through you.

BTW, Chuck wants to take an extra weekend trip this summer for his birthday! Do you think we can survive four trips in one year?:cool1:
