It Will Be An October Quickie!! We're in Single Digits!!!

Just subscribed! So excited to see you're able to make a quick trip! As long as you're not expecting Disneyland, you will have a great time! I haven't read everyone elses comments yet, so I am sorry if someone has mentioned any of these already:

I recommend the Pot Roast at Liberty Tree Tavern, as it is delicious! And the Toffee Cake is so good! Also, skip Pirates, it's so much shorter than DL's and kinda disappointing. And when you're ready for a little rest, hop on the People Mover. Nice and relaxing, and there's a bit of a breeze that is refreshing with the heat.

Try your best to do Rock N Roller Coaster and Everest! Definitely worth it!

For Illuminations we sat in front of the Mexican Pavilion under a tree, and it was a pretty great view from there, and not too busy. We got there about an hour early.

Anyways, there's a few things we had picked out from our trip. I am sure you guys will have an amazing time! Excited for you!

No, I'm not expecting Disneyland.....that I do remember from all my research from last year. Our plans on rides is to do ones we can't do at DL. We are "repeating" a couple~~Haunted Mansion, Splash Mtn & BTMRR. We hadn't planned on doing POTC unless we have lots of spare time. Fantasyland rides might be done during the party but we'll just play that by ear.

Expedition Everest is one of the reasons to go to AK.....so we'll do that one for sure.......Rock-n-Roller Coaster has me a bit nervous......The last few trips I've skipped California Screamin because my nerves are pretty shot while riding it......so with this having more loops & corkscrews (which I've never done).....and being in the dark (so I can't prepare myself ahead of time)......I'm just not sure I can do it. Mike already said no. So depending on wait time (or if we can get a FP) and depending on how I'm feeling.....this one is up in the air.

Thank you for giving me a less crowded place to watch Illuminations! I just want to be able to breathe.

Pirates would be a have to with me. I love that ride. My newlywed wed nephew and his wife may be joining us on our trip in January. Neither of them have gone since the early 1990's.

I love the ride, but knowing it's shorter (which means stuff will be missing) and only having the 1 day at MK.......I just had to wean out things........ I also knew I'd be riding the original a couple months later in DL!! (and now I've heard I won't be riding my favorite ride~BTMRR......stupid regulations delaying the opening.....heavy sigh)

Mike & I are very excited about this trip.....even though it will be short.......it still will give us a taste of WDW and time for us to let our guards down & relax!

I'd pick the fall time next year over March......Spring break time at the parks is worse then summer time.....sooooooooo crowded!! We did 2 yrs in a row and swore it off for life!!!

Sorry to hear you had a rough year......after our rough year last year.....I was really hoping this year would be better.....unfortunately, we had a MAJOR issue come up here at home and our lives forever changed. So yes, I agree.....you can relax with kids around......but Mike & I need this just to regroup and tackle what lies ahead. I hope your trip to PA helps you all to re-energize and the rest of the year goes a little better for you all.

Just depends on when Easter falls & the spring breaks.....we've been early March and it was packed and then a couple years ago......March wasn't bad but April was horrid. I'm not sure where Easter falls next year.

It's been 3 years since I was there (3 years since I've been to any disney park booo!), but it was such a fantastic place!

Kelly's daughter was in a cheerleading competition (held in the Hyperion Theater) during the Diva trip this year. (she looked so cute!) But I agree.......March is hit & miss and I'd prefer to miss it!!

Woo Hoo.....look what arrived in the mail yesterday!!! Our Photopass+ stuff!!! You get a voucher to take to the parks & exchange for the PP+ card, a code to use when we get ready to order our CD so we won't be charged for it (since we already paid for it) and then a CD with stock photos of WDW.



Just waiting to hear from Derek when the Magical Express tags show up at his place. Since he made the reservation....the tags come to him and then he'll have to send them to us. Can't wait to see them in person!!!

Between a very expensive court case to get custody of my SD (which we won) and then my DH going back to school for the last 2 years (advanced paramedic program- he has 10 years in as a paramedic but thankfully it will be done this fall), me getting laid off (got new, better job now thankfully) and us saving to buy a bigger home (which we have now done- move next week!!) it just hasn't been on the cards.

We are going on a family cruise with OH's family (his parents who are paying, brothers and sisters and their kids) in January and we had hoped to get to WDW around this time, but it just can't work, so I am thinking it will be next fall sometime and we will go back to DL...which we will def budget for every year- we've already talked about it being important, I want to experience some of the special events (Halloween party, xmas etc)

Oh my.......we're doing the 2 parks in 2 months......we have an amazing opportunity in Dec. at DL that we can't pass up on and so Mike & I will be trying to figure out how to afford to go down to California for a couple days.

Wow.....lots going on for you all. Sounds mostly positive, so that's good!!

Where are you going on your cruise? We've never done one.....I'm not sure I could either. I think I'd be freaked out about being in the middle of the ocean on a boat (darned Titanic)

If you can go during the holidays to the parks (DL or WDW) that would make it even that more special to be returning!! I hope you can do it!!

I don't usually bother with it at DL because I have my good camera and can usually get the PP people to take one with mine as well but for DW I usually use it because that way I can actually get in the pic and I love all the borders and things plus I want the ride photos and character meal pics. If we weren't doing the dinning plan we probably wouldn't even do any character meals cuz the girls are older now and characters aren't as important anymore but since we ARE going to get it we are planning on 3 charc breakfasts. One at the Crystal palace in the MK, one at Ohana and one at 1900 park faire.

So exciting!! We did magical express last time but I don't remember special tags although I am sure we prob had them LOL.

Are you guys going to do the magic bands? Since we are doing a package and staying onsight I am assuming they will have them standard next year when we go. Will def love to hear how that goes if you use those as well.

We got the Photopass+ card in December and during the Diva trip. It's well worth the cost (if you normally buy the CD). Use it at one character meal (or so)......it pays for the difference in cost. You can have all your on-ride pics added to your card......and those add up quickly!

The tags for the Magical Express are for your luggage. You put their tags on your suitcases and they pick up your luggage. (easy to spot)

I don't know if we'll be in the testing group for the Magic Bands or not. A little confusion on which resorts are included right now. I'm also not sure with Derek being a CM whether or not we'd be chosen to test them. I was hoping we'd get them.....if for nothing else, as a souvenir! lol I'll keep you posted on whether we get to test them or not. Sounds like the 40 day mark is when a lot of people are getting notified.

I would definitely get some extra swag to personalize the band. You for sure will get to do these by the time your trip comes.
