It Will Be An October Quickie!! We're in Single Digits!!!

Following along! We'll be there October 10th-19th and also have two kiddos with Autism. :) Our first park day will be the 11th at Magic Kingdom so we'll be there the same day as you! I'm just about to start our pre-trippie, so maybe you can check it out and keep your eyes open for us!

Awesome!!! I'll go look for it!

How old are your 2 with autism? Do they do well at WDW? The twins did really good last December at Disneyland......we were amazed at how well they did. Michayla (who is our non-verbal/communicate) actually had a couple encounters with characters that were priceless!!

Oh my.......we're doing the 2 parks in 2 months......we have an amazing opportunity in Dec. at DL that we can't pass up on and so Mike & I will be trying to figure out how to afford to go down to California for a couple days.

Wow.....lots going on for you all. Sounds mostly positive, so that's good!!

Where are you going on your cruise? We've never done one.....I'm not sure I could either. I think I'd be freaked out about being in the middle of the ocean on a boat (darned Titanic) :lmao:

If you can go during the holidays to the parks (DL or WDW):lmao: that would make it even that more special to be returning!! I hope you can do it!!

Amazing opportunity sounds exciting :cool2: look forward to hearing about it!

Yes, moving in 2 days yikes! good thing I am here at work and DH is at home packing :thumbsup2

We are doing western carribean on the Oasis of the Seas- one of those massive boats! It seems to have everything on it!

I am really thinking that our next Disney trip will be sometime next fall- either for Halloween party time, or Christmas decoration time- it is soo far away right now tho, who knows.

I'm so glad to hear that you guys are going to WDW!! If you have any questions, let me know. Congrats to Nick and Marie!!

I've never heard of the Oasis of the Sea.....but I also don't look into cruises much........ Should be an exciting trip!!

Hi Kaitlin :wave2: I will pass on the congrats to the happy couple!! We leave on Tuesday to head south where the wedding will be. It will give us a few days to relax before the big day.

Good Oasis of the Seas- it's massive!

I'd love to do one of the new Disney boats but they are soooo expensive, I'm thinking maybe the Disney Alaska one some day :thumbsup2

Cha Cha Cha Changes........Derek called today and he just found out the CM blackout dates for Magic Kingdom and one of the dates was the day we were planning on going and attending the party (Friday, Oct. 11)......so now we're having to switch ADR's and park plans. So this is the new & improved itinerary!!

Tuesday, October 8: Flying in and heading to Downtown Disney after checking in at the All Star Sports Resort.

Wednesday, October 9: No changes here......going to EPCOT (EMH 9-11pm). Plan on snacking our way thru the Food & Wine kiosks and different countries quick service/counters. No ADR's.

Thursday, October 10: Going to Magic Kingdom (EMH 8-9am). Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern & quick service/counters as needed. Will attend the MNSSHP this night.

Friday, October 11: Starting at Animal Kingdom (EMH 8-9am) and breakfast at Tusker House. Switching over to Hollywood Studios with an early dinner at 50's Primetime Cafe. We might try to catch Fantasmic...but will play that by ear.

Saturday, October 12: Instead of doing another character meal......I have switched us to breakfast at Kona Cafe. This way I get to see the Polynesian Resort.

What was lost in these changes: Ohana's dinner (just couldn't get an ADR for a new day) and 1900 Park Fare.

We're all pretty laid back with the plans......so the new itinerary is fine. We're just excited to have this opportunity to go!

Bummer on having to move things around. But your plans still look great . Love kona cafe !

Let me know if you need any suggestions on where to eat. I'm planning on going next summer for my high school graduation

Hi Laurie -- late to the party but now all caught up!

I love your dining plans ... I think they are a good mix of WDW experiences. Highly recommend Kona for breakfast! Hard to pick between the Tonga Toast and the Macadamia pancakes!

Loved Food & Wine last year! You and Mike will have a blast. My best advice is to get there right as the food booths open. It got pretty crowded by late afternoon but we were there on a weekend so I am sure it won't be as bad. Definitely scope out a spot for Illuminations an hour early. I would say somewhere between Mexico-Norway-China. If you stake our your spot early, you can "hold your ground" with the crowds. Just sit a bit when the show first ends.

Read some of your ride plans. In AK, I agree to definitely see The Festival of the Lion King and if you can, the Finding Nemo show. It is really well done. Kali River Rapids is very short so not worth a long line (and according to Andrew not worth it at all compared to Grizzly River Run but your mileage may vary). I really enjoy Tusker House breakfast.

We just did the Backlot Tour at DHS this trip after not doing it for several years and I enjoyed it. Also did the Stunt Show. My only "warning" about the Stunt Show is that it take a big chunk of time getting a decent seat, waiting out the show, the show itself and then getting back out. But I did really enjoy it. As for F!, I personally don't think the FL version compares to the CA version but again your mileage may vary. But I do remember the crowds being brutal getting out of there. Derek probably has more recent experience though as we haven't been in years.

So excited for you! I hate that I can't get back to Food & Wine this year and I have yet to get to a MNSSHP. Hoping Jay and I can sneak in a quickie next September! :rotfl:

Hi Laurie! Signing in a bit late but I love your plans and your family is beautiful! I can imagine you guys are ready for some quiet time, though!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already or not, but my favorite place to watch Illuminations from is the Norway pavilion. During F & W, the terms "good spot" and "not crowded" just don't go together, unfortunately...at least not in my experience! Chances are good that if you find an empty spot and it's 8:30pm or later...it's because you won't get a good view of the show from there!

Animal Kingdom is truly stunning! It's just so beautiful! It's going to seem WAY hotter at AK than any of the others parks! I don't know why, but it will! Just a warning! If you have time, you should try and watch Finding Nemo - The Musical. It's beautiful and really well done!

Your plans sound really great and I'm glad you'll get to check out WDW finally! I know that cross country airfare is insane! :faint: That's the reason we haven't been to Disneyland yet!

I'm debating between the Tonga Toast and the pulled pork/eggs benedict breakfast at Kona......I'm not a fan of nuts (peanuts are ok).....so will pass on the Macadamia Nut Pancakes.

Thanks for the tips for the Food & Wine and Illuminations!!

We'll definitely rely on Derek for tips and to keep me from bad crowd situations. We are pretty laid back in our plans. A couple things are must do's but the rest is go with the flow.

I forgot about the pulled pork eggs benedict! That is also delicious! You really cannot go wrong at Kona! Here's a past review ...
