Even if this doesn’t come to fruition, this is a great post!Okay, don’t bash me. This isn’t fun & exciting, I’m just throwing it out there
Could this just be some kind of “Green” space to go along with Disney’s 2030 Environmental Goals that they mentioned a few times in their interior video?
I google lens just that area and kept getting “Green hotel” info & photos like the ones below. (Ya I have no life)
Maybe it’s just plants hanging all over like in “Living with the Land”. If you look at the first concept art (top) it has more plants. The newer concept art (bottom) looks more like it’d have some seating for viewing like at AKL or something like the “ROOF” photo below that it pulled up.
Maybe Disney gets tax breaks for the more “Green Spaces” it has with ‘eco friendly gardens’
Whatever it is, it’s very original though, coz I pulled every angle to zoom into that space for google lens to find me something similar and mostly only found AI generated sustainablity houses & hotels like the photos below.
Just a guess, who knows..

Wow! That’s kinda crazy…’through 2026’ not ‘to 2026’Entire Disney Polynesian resort now shows "Construction and Refurbishments Through 2026"

(Click on the See Details for the Construction and Refurbishments)
In addition to this (no idea if this work is happening or not, not disputing it), the entrance is also probably getting a major re-do, unless those plans have been scrapped. For construction to now run through 2026, I can't see this being the Island Tower.
Might this be the rumored work at the Poly office/storage building? I forget the name of the building. It was a restaurant and arcade in the 80s. I recall some posted they may tear it down completely because of asbestos.
I forgot about this work. This makes a lot of sense.I imagine a big chunk of this work is the adjustments to the bus loop and parking lots and entrance

You think the parking lots, bus loop, and entrance will take 2+ years to complete? I’m not buying it. My guess is this is a more extensive renovation to the tangaroa building and possibly something else.I imagine a big chunk of this work is the adjustments to the bus loop and parking lots and entrance
- How many of us are saving points for this?
Back to back FWs? Cabins > Poly or reversed? Either way sounds fun!I think I'm buying a favorite week in December - not sure yet on room type, but will decide just as soon as DVD releases the point chart.
I definitely saved points for the poly tower opening. I’m currently booked in a 2 bedroom for 7 nights at the grand Floridian for the end of February. I plan on switching to the Polynesian 2 bedroom once it opens (I own pvb, so hoping for a few days/weeks home booking priority to make the switch easy). However, if for whatever reason it doesn’t work out, I’ll happily keep my stay at VGF.Question about how points booking has worked in the past with the new sale buildings. Here is what I *THINK* I know. I'm probably wrong about some/all of it.
1) PIT has only had cash bookings so far but will at some point open to point bookings. That can't happen until inventory gets declared into the association contract.
2) Once inventory is declared - that inventory is no longer available for cash bookings (except in breakage) to Disney, it's available to DVC members.
3) In the past, when points bookings opened up, existing members have had a priority window when they can book stays before the rentals open to 7 month window bookings.
4) So conceivably, while the cash booking availability in 2025 for PIT has been open for a while now, there will be another window when PVB owners can potentially book newly declared rooms (whatever they may be) after units are declared.
So here are my questions:
- What people's best guesses on when the first available stays in points rooms will be? Jan 2025?
- Would DVD have held back availability for cash booking based on the points they want to sell?
- How many of us are saving points for this?![]()
