My best guess is either part of club level or will be some sort of paid food/firework offering. Can’t imagine what else.
I just don't get why it would be separated if they were a paid food offering. You would think if they were planning to do that they would put it all together to make it easier to service. I do still hold out hope it is club level as unlikely as that is. I absolutely love club level at AKV even though I know it's not the best deal for points but I love the convenience and I'll take dole whip on tap :P

Has anyone figured out what these boxes are yet? The suspense is killing me lol.

Okay, don’t bash me. This isn’t fun & exciting, I’m just throwing it out there

Could this just be some kind of “Green” space to go along with Disney’s 2030 Environmental Goals that they mentioned a few times in their interior video?

I google lens just that area and kept getting “Green hotel” info & photos like the ones below. (Ya I have no life)

Maybe it’s just plants hanging all over like in “Living with the Land”. If you look at the first concept art (top) it has more plants. The newer concept art (bottom) looks more like it’d have some seating for viewing like at AKL or something like the “ROOF” photo below that it pulled up.

Maybe Disney gets tax breaks for the more “Green Spaces” it has with ‘eco friendly gardens’

Whatever it is, it’s very original though, coz I pulled every angle to zoom into that space for google lens to find me something similar and mostly only found AI generated sustainablity houses & hotels like the photos below.

Just a guess, who knows..

Interesting thought! The photos of other properties with this feature look REALLY cool

I think this is very possible. Maybe even the Vegas favorite if we’re putting odds on this? Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I agree with this. I think they're going to be green "balcony" areas. I don't think it'll be a lounge or a paid location, since there are multiple small ones, which would mean higher cost to operate. What they might do to limit access, is make it so you have to scan your magicband to get in.

Considering they are also on the monorail side, I think it is part of the special 2BRs (2 levels).

And the count of 4 makes sense too. There’s only 2 Grand Villas at VDH, so 4 of this penthouse 2BR category seems on par.

I love this idea - having plants involved in the design of the boxes (art rendering has what looks like foliage and flowers), and also carried through other elements like the connecting balconies between the buildings.

Agreed, I think this is most likely. RIP my club level dreams 😭. Did we ever get confirmation on whether the 2BR penthouses are single story or double? I could've swore they were single only?

I'd guess they're two-story? These are set back quite far back from the exterior than the other rooms; they'd need a second floor to make up for lost space. And the renderings of the 2BR living rooms don't show the windows being two levels high.

Basically, looks like a slightly scaled down Grand Villa. Maybe they've been having trouble filling those?

I guess you're right because I don't imagine them having it have a recessed upper floor and being able to look down on other guests below you so it must be part of the same room. The 2 2BRs facing the park being theme park view and the 2 facing the monorail being preferred.

I kind of like the idea of a 2BR version of a grand villa because my immediate family doesn't have enough to fill a Grand Villa unless I bring parents or invite my sibling's family but a family of 4 can fill a GV. Probably will be expensive as hell though. I wonder how the prices will land relative to the bungalows 🤔

I think you are exactly right. I have been saying all along they are just “ambiance areas” - areas for guests to enjoy the views.

Right! At first I thought Disney wouldn’t waste that much of sellable space to get nothing out of it. Then after pulling up all the “Green Hotel” info (which included seminars & guides), the only thing I could think of was they’re possibly getting some type of tax credits or had to off set use for energy codes/credits or something.

And if it’s viewing, I hope it’s only Poly guest that can access or it’ll end up being like the beach at fireworks time.

I wonder how well a green space would work? Would there be insect problems?

We have seen swarms of bug certain times of the year at BLT. I think people called them “love bugs”. We had to call maintenance once for a hornets nest on our BLT balcony.

Agree that any viewing/green space needs to be used either for events or Poly guests only. Otherwise the hallways will be filled with non-guests roaming the hallways. (This happened when BLT opened).
