Is YC worth the extra $200 over WL?

Is the location worth the extra money? I thought I was set on WL and now I just did the math and it's only $200 more for our 4 night trip. It's just DH and me for our next trip and we plan on eating in WS in Epcot quite a bit and the only rope drop we plan on doing is one morning at DHS. Talk me in or out of it.

DH is going to kill me for changing my mind on our resort for the 5th time.

In general I would say yes. I love the WL and the YC but have only stayed at the YC once due to cost. BUT I would be hesitant to stay in a Standard view at YC. I just hate paying $300 and up to have a view of the parking lot or HVAC units on the roof. Is the difference in money a Standard room at WL to a standard room at the YC or a woods view or courtyard view at the WL to a standard at YC. But...yes the location is great and in particular, if you are spending a lot of time at World Showcase.

I'll pay a lot for convenience, so I'd definitely say it's worth it (apologies to your husband....).

WL is our absolute favorite resort.

But, for $200, and your plans, I'd go with YC, which is also a great resort with a location that cannot be beat!!!!

IMHO YES!!! If you are spending most of your time in Epcot and DHS then it def. is. You will spend more time in the parks and less transportation time. How much is your time worth on a 4 day vacation?

I concur with the folks that said if your main plan is to be at Epcot and DHS, then YC is a great choice. I love being able to walk to Epcot and not have to depend on buses. For DHS, you can either walk or take the Friendship boats. One of my family's favorite things to do is have a late dinner at WS and then enjoy the quiet and relative emptiness of Epcot.

I'm a big fan of WL but loved Beach Club last year. I say yes, it would be worth it to go to YC and just have a stroll over to Epcot (and from Epcot!)

We made the exact same change. Our original plan was 7 days at WL but we change our minds and moved to YC. Closer to 2 parks, 2 parks that you can walk or take the boat too is worth ever penny of $200 in my opinion. No bus priceless! But we have a stroller lol

Oh poor DH...after I just explained WL to him last night. Hopefully I make it to our trip without him killing me!

Two words: Do it!

You will never regret making this change. Walking out the door and being on your way to the WS is worth every single penny. Every.single.penny.

It's worth it if you like the location and resort better.

You must not have been very enthusiastic about WL if you kept looking at other resorts after booking WL.

For me, I like WL better.

But, I have been to WDW enough times that I don't stress as much over which resort I'm at. I have stayed at MANY resorts and have been VERY SATISFIED with every single one of them.

The way I look at it is if I'm staying at WL this trip and I have a thought of staying elsewhere I'll just stay there next time.

LOL, you may as well switch to YC now, because chances are likely that you'll change your mind again anyway.

Don't take any of that as a negative because I am firmly in the BTDT crowd.

When DH and I go alone the ability to walk to Epcot and enjoy the food and drinks and stroll back to the hotel is totally worth it! We love the Epcot resorts!!

Yes! For us the YC/BC/BWI area is our favorite at WDW. It is super convenient to Epcot and HS, so for that reason alone, I would pay the extra money. Stormalong Bay is great too! The WL is beautiful but other than the boats to MK, you'd have to take buses everywhere.
