Is this weird? Engagement Arrangement

I just wanted to know if this was odd:
My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting engaged, and I said I'd feel bad with him spending so much on a ring and me not giving him anything. He said a guitar would suffice but I want to do something bigger. He's been looking at some "crotch rocket" motorcycles, and he really wants one. They're really not that expensive, the ones hes looking at, so I think it's feasable.
I talked it over with him, and the idea of it made him really happy.
I know its common for the bride and groom to give eachother presents before the wedding, just wondering if anyone thought our "agreement" was odd?

Personally, I say whatever works for the couple at hand. Not everyone is alike, so we don't all have to have the same ideas of "right" when it comes to things like this.

Hahaha this almost made me fall off my chair...
"Crotch rocket" is another term for an import motorcycle...aka rice rocket?
I don't get the boy...he drives a Mustang...hates foreign cars....yet wants a Suzuki bike...go figure!

Working in a hospital, I would never give my loved one a motorcycle. I see too many people injured or worse on those things.

Well he HAS agreed to the motorcycle with a smaller motor, and hes going to take EVERY safety course NJ offers....but I won't lie, I'm still nervous...But hey-I'm going to be settling down with a motorcycle riding cop! Goodbye nails! I'll be biting them allll day long...

I have decided that i love him so much i am going to go get him a suzuki gsxr 750 tomorow. I am going to go to the dealership and finance it and suprise him with it by tomorow night. I want nothing in return, except possibly a kiss. I am getting the checkbook ready as we speak.

when my DH and i got engaged, i got the ring and he got a laptop! he still refers to it as his "engagement laptop"...

You know, this whole thread is a surprise to me because I didn't realize that women bought anything for the man when they got engaged, lol. My dh just lost out because I didn't buy him squat. He seemed to think he was getting a pretty good deal anyway , lol.
