My fiancee and me just got engaged on christmas. We are both in navy special forces I am about to get out in a year she still has 2 left. We are planning for mayish time frame in 2013 when we will both be back from Iraq. I heard the new Ariels castle should be open by then. Her and I are how would we say both obsessed with little mermaid. Is there a possibility of having the wedding in front of Ariels castle .If so any idea on possible price range. Guest size is currently unknown due to many close friends(who we consider family) may or may not be deployed. Thanks for any help!

Do you mean the Little Mermaid dark ride? Is she getting a castle? I thought it was just Beast's castle.

As of right now, you can only do MK weddings at the Swan Boat landing. Who knows if that will change!

since fantasyland isn’t completed, not sure if there would be areas that would eventually be incorporated into weddings. if you haven’t come across this yet, i would highly recommend the passporter guide to DFTW&honeymoons.

this would be really perfect for you becasue it has so much info AND if you are still in the planning/pre-planning stage (and you purchase the E book format), you will up to the minute updates of any changes to wedding information all the way through your wedding date. it’s a GREAT source of informatin and inspiration - and often better more accurate info than even the planners themselves can give you at any given moment!

one thought as you began planning - if you are armed froces, the very beautiful shades of green resort is available to you also for weddings. i *believe* there is info in the passporter guide about it, but that might also be something to search on the boards and google (google searches often seem to lead easier to questions on these forums than forum searches for some reason!).

so even if you can’t get married at ariels’ undersea extravaganza, perhaps the guide will help you plan and budget to the (possibly) shades of green wedding and you can do a MK portrait session and get loads of pics near ariels! or invite ariel to the wedding!!! she is an expensive “guest” though i bet!

happy planning! happy holidays! and thanks to you and your significant other for your service!! :thumbsup2

Thank you both for the info I appreciate it a lot. And I'm not sure if she has a castle it's just what I've heard thru rumors. Having ariel as a guest I didn't even think of that but that would be amazing! I will be checking out the link you sent and also shades of green thanks for the tips!! :)

now i had to go look up something and i think i was right in thinking that DFTW and SOG weddings are two different things - i still think the planner (passporter guide) will be the best money spent towards planning though!

SOG Weddings

That guide seems great! I was just browsing thru the sample will more than likely purchase it once my fiancee gets back. Thanks!

we purchased the book and barely went to sleep last night because we wanted to keep reading it was that good. Had tons of great info I really appreciate the help. We are thinking about doing it at shades of green now since it'll be a little bit cheaper but still an amazing location.
