I can't see enough of the background to tell. It would have been somewhere around 1987 - 1989, I think. It looks like the shrubs say ZOO but maybe it's a 200?

Here's another one. It sort of looks like Tomorrowland, but again, not enough of the background showing for me to be sure. I can't place the exact location.

(These are my MIL's photos. She thinks they were taken at Disney.)

The ponchos lead me to believe Disney! Ponchos only seem to be acceptable (and worn) at Disney, at least from what I think. lol

This one looks like Epcot entrance where the PP photogs are.

Ah, maybe. My MIL says that's the castle in the background, but it does not look like the castle to me. It's way too close to the flower bed for one and the positioning just doesn't seem right. But then I wasn't there in that time frame, so I don't know what might have changed since then.

Definitely Tomorrowland. You can see the PeopleMover train right at the top center.

I agree this is Tomorrowland, under the then Peoplemover, possibly near where the If You Could Fly attraction was. (This is currently where the Buzz Lightyear attraction is.)

So how about the pic with the 200 or ZOO shrubs? Anyone know what the 200 would mean? Or even if that's what it is? It looks like they are wearing the same clothes, so it was probably taken on the same day as the Tomorrowland pic.

I appreciate everyone's help BTW!! Thank you!!

Pretty sure this is the castle. in the veeeeeeerry top right you can see the entrance leading through and one of the triangular banners that line the walkway up. The banner really is the kicker to me.

I think your MIL is right, I do not know what is at the top of the plants during the time they were there, but here is that same plants during the 15th anniversary:

Are you sure these were in the 80's?

The reason I ask this is because if it was near 1976, that would have been the bicentennial of the United States of America, hence the 200 hedge explained.

The clothing and hair definitely isn't 1970s.

It could be in celebration of the Indy 200, but that was 1996, and the style doesn't look to be from the mid-90s, either.

not sure if they would have given it its own topiary, but the 200 millionth visitor passed through sometime around the late 80s

This picture cant say 2000 since only two "o" s. It looks like zoo and what is in front of the walkway that you are standing on "the multicolor" on the ground.

And with the topiary clue, we have it: 1988. (I don't know if we can post links to another forum, but "topiary" was the word that helped me google the right answer. )

You know the funniest part was, I was searching all over google and didnt even remember the word 'topiary' until I went to type it out for the post lol. I was just going for views oft he castle or main street year by year.

But even then, you found it way quicker than I ever could :thumbsup2

Wow! You are a super sleuth! LOL Thank you so much!

MIL had previously told us that she took DH's little brother to Disney once when he was little. (They went again last year, along with his family as he is now all grown up, of course, for what they kept saying was his second Disney trip.) DH and I knew they visited Disney with his little brother and older sister when they visited us when we used to live in Orlando (1989-1992). The people in these pics were not with them at the time. So this "proves" that she took DH's little bro to Disney twice when he was little, not once. :rotfl:

MIL has a really bad memory (always has, not just since she has gotten older). :rolleyes2

She also keeps telling everyone that when she visited Disneyland it was run down and too much uphill walking. She has never been to Disneyland. That was Universal Hollywood lol. I correct her every time I overhear her tell someone, but I shudder to think how many times she has spread that misinformation when I wasn't in earshot. :faint:

I knew I could count on my DIS friends to place and date these photos! You guys are so awesome! :woohoo:
