Is there a Project Runway thread? (does anyone watch it?)

Lupe was crazy on the reunion show! I was so embarrased for her It really seemed like she was on drugs and I'm so glad they stopped her babble and said let's get back to reality here.

I also watched Project Jay and had no idea that he denied the BR contract and went out on his own. I still think it was awful what Heidi did to him. If she was trying to prove a point, she never should have asked him to do it in the first place, you know?

Heidi definitately showed a lack of class. Next time Jay should ask for a monetary deposit, although I would like to think she made it up to him monetarily anyway.

Lupe was wacked.

Poor Jay -- this year's winner gets a nice car. I guess Jay's new collection will be shown in October? Hope in rocks!

Daniel Franco's remark to Heidi seemed out of place -- sounded like a followup to his comments to her during the lingerie challenge.

I was suprised she picked Dianna, too. Kara looked VERY disappointed. Actually all those not picked looked VERY disappointed (like the last ones picked in school for PE teams).

i watched alot of this on bravo yesterday and i am DVRIng the finale wednesday
it was weird how franco was like i love you heidi and she just looked at him

They couldn't pick Kara--she showed at Fashion week as well. She was just as frantically trying to put together her collection as the other three--but had no chance of winning. I think it's because fashion week happened before the last cut, and they didn't want to give away which three were the actual finalists.

As far as picking Diana, there really wasn't another choice. Copied from a post on the television without pity boards:
"So with Chloe, Daniel V., Santino, Uncle Nick, and Andrae out of the picture, who was left for Chloe to choose as an assistant?

Daniel F. is a great tailor but very slow and deliberate, not good at delivering on time.

Zulema? No way. Marla? I think not.

Crazy Lupe? Rather stick pins in my eyes.

Raymundo, John, Southern Heidi? Doubtful.

Emmett? Fabulous taste, but he's as much as admitted he can't sew. And remember, they are here to ASSIST, not partner.

Kristen? She wasn't there long enough to know what she can or can't do.

Which leaves us with Dirty Dianna. She's agreeable, will do what is asked of her, and being just out of school, probably still can work her way with a needle and thread and a pattern."

I peaked. I liked Santino's collection (with the exception of the short gold dress and the one with the black top and poofy sleeves), but it doesn't look very Fall.

Chloe's collection was half cute dresses and half ugly dresses that looked like they were made from the curtains in the 1980's.

Daniel's didn't have a theme or flow, and that bag-- Eww.

Kara made it obvious why she was cut.

UGH! I hated most of Santino's work during the show. If he was trying to be the Wendy Pepper of the group just to be the controversy that makes it to fashion week, it obviously worked, but his collection is beautiful! It'll be a race between him and Daniel, IMHO.

Chloe's is hardly wearable and UGLY! I agree with the post above, it's obvious why Kara didn't make it to fashion week. ICH!

Agree about Lupe. She was scary.

About the dress for Heidi though, from watching hearing interviews with celebrities about how they choose their red carpet dresses, it sounds like that sort of thing happens frequently. It sounds like some of them have 3 or 4 dresses ready to go and make an almost last minute decision between them.
I think what was awful was that they didn't let Jay know that's how things work, so he was blindsided. I think Heidi (or her people) should have told him that he was designing one of the dresses she might choose from, not the dress she would wear.

My daughter has Andrae as our screen saver now....The text under his picture says...."What happened to Andrea?" I don't know where she finds this stuff online but she does.

Where's Andrae? While I'm not a Santino fan -- way too much ego for one person to have -- his Tim Gunn impersonations are right on target.

After watching the first part of the finale and seeing what little they showed of each designer's line, I'm thinking that Santino might walk away the winner this year. Daniel doesn't seem to be paying very close attention to the little details and Chloe's designs that were shown were not very inspiring (what's with the "organic design" anyway?).

I admit that I peeked at the link.

When I looked at Chloe's, I couldn't help but think that she found about three fabrics that she really liked, and kept using the same ones in all of the clothes, but would use it for the dress in one, the jacket in the next, or just use a different "cut" with the same fabric. And did anyone else notice that ALL of her designs (because of the satins, etc) were really only appropriate for evening wear?

Daniel's designs were the most "boring" but at least he did produce a whole line (daywear, sportswear, evening wear) and they were all pretty much "wearable."

Santino's were more imaginative and colorful, but looked very uncomfortable.

Kara's were just plain ugly.

I fell asleep before the end, so I'll have to catch it tomorrow.

The cast was on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch last night. I caught some of it. Nina Garcia was funny. She looked better on that show than she does on PR. She wasn't sitting there as judge and jury. She seemed like the kind of person with whom you'd be comfortable hanging out.

Oh, and I didn't happen to see that Lupe got to talk at all. I wonder if she's embarassed about her performance on the reunion show.

I LOVED that show last night. Very good mix of clips, questions, and commentary. Jay was in a good mood, diplomatic, and less snarky.

I was great to see Nina. The editing on PR shows her being critical with out the supportive words too (as she has mentioned).

Lupe was quiet. Donny said they were all going out AFTER the show. Wisdom.

Maybe she turned the dress down because it smelled like a pack of cigarettes. I can't imagine why Jay would smoke around clothing he plans to sell. Yuk!

Well, after seeing the collections on t.v., I didn't like Santino's at all, and they were right that the ****s didn't fit where they were supposed to.

If Debra Messing wasn't such a fan of Chloe, I think the other judges would have picked Daniel's collection. I didn't think any of them were great.

Debra didn't say much during the judging. Thought her 13th dress wasn't as good as Santino or Daniel. The judges were critical on Chloe for her poor show organizing skills, but they didn't get into specifically why they felt that way.

Daniel had a complete collection, but it didn't amount to much at the end. I thought it would have counted more in the competition. Does the model tripping over the brown dress count against him?

Santino created his own runway music which I found distracting.

I agree that nothing stood out other than Santino/Andre's 13th dress with the classic look and the dark red color.

Last night's show was pretty good! I'm sad it's over. It's one of my favorite reality shows on tv.

Overall, I thought the collections were pretty good. Daniel's was my favorite because I could see myself in every piece. Chloe's was well made and she did a fantastic job on fit. I was not so impressed by her choices of fabric (was that satin???) or style. Much too poofy.

Santino's was ok. I wish he would have gone all out. I loved a few of his pieces, especially that original multi-colored piece. I would love that dress.

I think they all did great and would have been happy with either Daniel or Chloe as winner. Santino winning would have been nice too since he might need it more than the rest, but I think he'll go far. He's got great vision!

Oh, any loved all the 13th dresses! They work well under pressure!

On another note, did anyone see Top Chef? I recorded it, so don't tell me any spoilers...but did you like it?

I did watch Top Chef. I found it a little distracting in the beginning, but really enjoyed the final challenge.

There are definitely some personalities to watch on this show.
