Is there a material I can use for my screened porch that cats can't scratch/destroy??

I have an old screened in porch at the back of my house.It's made of just plain old wood that my cats have scratched and destroyed.
I'd like to get a new porch built but I need a material that's "cat proof" sorta-speak.
Can they make it out of vinyl? Or some other material that won't succumb to cat's scratching at it all the time?
Any suggestions?

I know they have pet resistant screening, not sure about the rest of the porch. There probably is something out there that would work.

You can get composite decking material and or vinyl/aluminum railings.

Here is Trex decking. There are other brands out there as well.

We are putting in a back deck hopefully within the next couple of months and are using composite decking and aluminum railings.

We used to have the screening on our back porch, it was awesome. Your framing and posts need to be wood, but they can wrap the posts in vinyl, which might help you. Also, we had a problem with our cats pulling out the screening. When dh fixed up the porch, he found a great system that used vinyl covering for where all the screening would spline into to secure it. He bought it at Lowe's or Home Depot, so it wouldn't be hard to find.

Oh yes vinyl/aluminim railings sounds like something I could use!Thanks for the link.Hopefully that stuff can be bought at our local Lowes or Home Depot.
I'd like to get it all done in one day but I'm afraid that them taking down the old porch will take a day in it's self...

That's good to know.It sounds exactly like what I need.I don't want my cats destroying my new porch.
And being able to find it at our local Lowes or Home Depot would be great too!
Now all I have to do is get an estimate from the guy who does all my home improvement projects.
I can't wait to get it done.

There is a screening out that is called Paw Proof. I had worked at a screen manufacturer for about 10 years and this was a very good seller! It actually does work!
