The best deal for me is the percent off. My DH works for Chase Bank and apparently we get discounts on park tickets....looks like resident rates on them...anyway the percent off is better than a 4/3 deal for us.

At the Moderate and Values, the 4/3 is better while at the Deluxe, the % off is better. I just did the math on rooms in March using the 4/3 and 30% off at Mods and 40% off at Deluxe and that is what I came up with.

when you do the math to get room rate.........is it just as simple as pricing out 4 nights for the 4/3 deal?

I'm hoping for 4/3, then %, then free dining. We would never pay for dining anyway--not big "foodies" more of a grab and go family.....but free is always nice.

That is what I did. I priced a 4 night hotel stay with 5 day passes and found that it was 200 more than our discounted passes and IF they offer the percent off.

We are going for the first time at the end of March. DH says if I can get a code and get the price down some then we can stay in Disney otherwise we will be off-site. I really want to stay on-site though.

In the past has the 4/3 deal been good at the value resorts? We are booked at the POP from March 26-Ap2, 2011 for my son's band trip. I would love a discount. Which is better, 4/3 or % off?

The 4/3 deal, as far as I remember, is for both tickets and room - pay for 4 nights/4 days tickets and get 3 nights/3 days tickets free. You can add dining (we did), but there is no discount on that portion.

Yes, the 40% (or whatever percentage) is off room rates only. Again, tickets and dining can be added, but they are not discounted.

It appears that any discounts won't come out until January - IF I am reading historical data correctly. It doesn't appear that any discounts for March have been released before the first week of January in the past several years.....

That is too long to wait!

Actually, according to mousesavers (and other posters) discounts have been released in September, Novemer, and January for March discounts. So hopefully we will see something before Christmas!

DH already wants to stay offsite, and now that I'm thinking about getting APs the free parking associated with that makes offsite look even better. BUT--I really, really want to go to the Poly for this trip. My grandparents took me there when I was 6 and now my girls are 6 and I know this is not rational. . .

So, I've been away for awhile now, and I don't know much about these discounts. Could someone help me out?

When will they be announced? Where will I be able to find them once they are announced? I've seen posts about pin codes, rack rates, discounts, etc. What's the difference?

Sorry for asking so many questions; just trying to figure out the best way to make a March 2011 trip with the wife.

As some others have posted, discounts for March 2010 came out as early as September, 2009. You can find out about historical WDW hotel discounts at: http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html

On that page, you can see that the "7 nights for the price of 4" package that included March, 2010 became available for booking on September 28, 2009. On the other hand, some other discounts for March 2010 did not become available until December 2009 or even Jan 1, 2010...I hope we do not have to wait until Dec or Jan for March 2011 discounts.

As we are now in October, hopefully we will hear something soon about discounts for March.

We are currently booked on free dining at WL and a friend that's going with us received the pin good for 40% off. The pin code brought their total down $100 (they are 2 adults) and ours up $100. We have 2 adults and 1 child age 12.

We just stuck with free dining. It was disappointing because we were hoping 40% off would bring our total down. I can't really complain though. We're still going!!!

So depressed...no pin yet for me. Called about a payment question and asked if just maybe they showed a pin for me and got the nothing yet reply...oh well...I guess I will keep waiting...
