Just got this email from a friend on board:

Ok, you know our history with cruises.....Steve has puked since 5:00pm yesterday and then just when we thought we were getting out of rough waters....the ship blew a "fuse" and we have been floating someone in the Atlantic for HOURS. Power (lights, elevators, etc) was restored after 10 minutes or so but the ship is going to require lots of work to get the propulsion engines going again. About 50% of the ship is sick...including the crew. We are in exceptionally rough waters. Glen and I are still eating and hoping we won't have a diet of pop tarts like those people on the Carnival cruise last year! LOL!!

Cross your fingers and hope they get this ship rolling again soon. All the pools are closed and we want to have some fun.

I found a report of something very similar to this happening on the Wonder on 11/1/2006, but nothing is showing up on the news feeds yet for a current event on the Magic.

Wow. I just realized that I was originally booked on that cruise until I decided to skip sailing this year and do 3 next year on the new ships.

I hope the propulsion system will be repaired soon and that the seas will calm down.

Here is what the two tracking sites show.

Was their itinenary changed? Maybe with the rough seas they decided to take an alternate route to St. Maarten. They should be well on their way to St Maarten, by now. Yikes! They look closer to Castaway Cay. Hope it all gets fixed and fast.

The 2nd link isn't working? Is it just me...or can anyone else get it to come up?

It's not just you. That sailwx site was working okay earlier but I'm seeing from where I am it is having trouble responding.

FYI.
The email was sent yesterday at 9pm. I did not get it until just before my post. We replied but have not heard any updates yet.
I can not get any current locations on the marine trackers.

Since we are supposed to board her on Saturday, I really hope that all is well with the ship and the people. Praying for smooth sailing for the current passengers and those upcoming. Eep!! Better not tell the hubby.

It's not on the news at all...and I tried to search for info...and coming up with nothing so far......

You know, Hubby and I were looking at the marinetraffic site just last night and thought it was weird because the ship appeared to be circling.

Hoping for the best for all current passengers, and for upcoming sailings as well. (Boarding Saturday!)

I just noticed that it doesn't look like the stats for Marine Traffic have been updated since early yesterday. Is that normal? Don't they usually record a "Midnight Position"?

Hope everything is okay!

DCL tweeted this "Rare sighting: the Disney Dream and the Disney Magic passing each other at Castaway Cay" photo today:

https://twitter.com/#!/DisneyCruise/status/143721364971466753/photo/1

Assuming the photo is from today -- why else would they tweet it? -- I wonder if this means the Magic went to CC first to make repairs? It seemed to be heading that way on the ship trackers.

On second thought...this photo may be a coincidence. I think the Dream is heading the wrong way, north toward PC not south toward Nassau. I have no idea.

UPDATE: Posters below pointed out the photo was posted on Facebook two days ago and tweeted today. So it's not what I was blathering about above.

nothing on Cruise Junkie site either :confused3
