Hey all I've been poking around the internet looking for March 2008 rates and found a really low rate for the Dolpin over $700 less than normal! Is this because they are going to be remodeling? I thought I read somewhere that a Diser just back from WDW heard this was up and coming.

We stayed a week at the Swan the middle of May. Had some issues and the executive housekeeper phoned me at home after to apologize big time and she said she was embarrassed when she found out what room we were in because they are currently redoing the Swan & apparently even they knew our room was a bit on the shabby side. They are working top floors to bottom. When the Swan is complete, they will start the Dolphin. I am not sure of the timeline, though. Hopefully new rooms by March.:goodvibes

I booked the Swan for March and got a FABULOUS AAA rate that WDW deluxes cannot touch. Hoping for a much better experience and a NEW room!

I see you decided to go back to WDW for spring break. That's great!

Just curious... why did you decide on the Swan instead of the GF? Or are you splitting your stay between the 2?

We booked a week at the Dolphin in March 2008 and will request a top floor room...

Hi, Dingoballs...I am not really even sure if we are going to WDW for spring break. :rolleyes1 Since our spring break is over Easter and my kids really like holidays at home we may just stay here:guilty: as that's what they'd prefer (crazy, but true) OR we might go to AZ to be with grandparents. We have a cool resort in AZ that we love, so just covering all my bases, lol.

I might do a RPC/Swan split, but I am really just not sure what to book at this point but the Swan gave me an unbeatable rate that I didn't want to lose, so I took it for now. If we did GF I'd want RPC and it's over $900/nt for March. :headache: Maybe do a GF/Swan split, but at this point I have been there, done that many times & I don't think RPC (even though I love it) is worth $900/nt. :sad2:

The Swan and Dolphin ARE currently being redone. They were last done a couple years ago - I've stayed there & I remember it being done - but the rooms are now being fixed up again. As told to me by the executive housekeeper and front desk manager at the Swan. :thumbsup2

Hi Lives4Disney :) I'm surprised your kids would prefer to stay at home rather than visit Mickey & Minnie again. Do you think they've OD'ed on WDW? LOL

I totally agree that $900/nt is pretty outrageous, even for RPC... well, at least you still have a few months to decide what to do/where to go for Spring Break (I vote for Florida :upsidedow )

I'm looking forward to our first-ever Dolphin experience!

I look so forward to vacations, but my kids love to be home.:confused3 I think they have OD'ed on WDW, actually. They didn't even want to go this summer when I wanted to plan a trip. They wanted to STAY HOME all summer! I did the last minute trip thing in early July & pulled it together on a Monday and we left that Friday, haha, and they were happy to go, but it wasn't something they needed to look forward to - unlike myself who LOVES to look forward to a WDW vacation.... I could LIVE at WDW so I don't understand them at all.:goodvibes

During our July trip we did YC/GF split stay and we really enjoyed the BW area alot and now that the kids are a bit older it's really nice to walk b/f to Epcot and MGM for convenience during the more crowded times & not have to rely on WDW transportation. MK is my favorite, but it gets sooo overcrowded that I find myself really liking the other parks a bit more when it's busy season.

Happy planning!:goodvibes
