Thanks to this board we made the BEST of our DLP trip this past Dec. I am dying to go back, but that will have to wait...for a while. But in my head I am already planning...( I think that is one of the best part of it...even if my DH has NO idea :-)..

My dream is to stay at the CC, at the DLH. I read some trip reports of people that have been at the CC...but when I look at the cost...of 4 nights...I wonder if the amount is really worth it ?

With the shareholders' discount the CC for the lowest period, is about 2400€, and then I have to add, fligths , transfers..meals, and that is about €1000 extra..

Next year I'll be 40 :rotfl2: and I thought that would be a great way to celebrate my bday...but on the other hand the self concious mother that 's inside of me, tell me it's too much money for 4 days, and for that amount I look for a different kind of vacation. I thought of WDW, but only the flights are 2000€ and you need at least 2 weeks to enjoy and get over the jetlag.. . ( my DH can't take off more than a week ).

My DH hates lines, and is not too much of a Disney lover...so you can imagine what he woukd say if I tell him the cost !: :furious: :

I don't think it will be able to be for the 15 years celebration...probably for Sept 2008..so I can try and save as much as possible !!

Any ideas or suggestions , pls let me know...Thanks !!

Hi Martina,

Thats a difficult one to call as if money was no objective we would opt for the CC every time. :goodvibes

For most of us, money plays a fundemental part of our choice options and for me spending that amount of money on ANY hotel would be a no no.

Im afraid when you compare it to say, The holiday Inn at £60 per room per night, the prices are criminal for most of us with families.

Oh how I wish I was rich :rotfl2:

Im sure you will get some better, first hand advice from those who have stayed at multiple hotels but good luck with your choice :thumbsup2

Every time I read peoples reviews of CC I hope one day that we'll enjoy it, even if only once and for a night :)
However I'm like Sarah and know that we could not justify spending that as it could equate to two trips:goodvibes
I know Diane would need a Lottery win for me to persuade her :)

Would staying in DLH standard rooms not offer as much magic :goodvibes

we are staying at CC next month so I do hope it is worth the cost, however I don't think we will stay there again as we have decided we would rather have the money go futher for example a longer stay or an extra trip.

THANK YOU SO MUCH...for such honest responses...
You are all right...unless we were rich, then going to CC is something we enjoy dreaming about and reading other member's reports...so Claire...pls take MANY photos :-)

You all have opened my eyes where the DLP is not only the hotel , but just the fact that we are in a magical place..and it's up to us to make it magical.

We were lucky to have stayed at the NPB hotel dor Dec...that was like travelling Business Class, and here I want to go first class and stay at the CC...I think even flying Economy is fine...since the DLP magic is everywhere.
And...if I were to go to the CC...now, I don't think I would want to stay any where after that. It's like when they upgrade you to First class and then the next time you travel you go back to the real world ...economy ! :-)

So...I made some calls and added some numbers ( instead of ironing..and fixing the house a bit  ...and here is what I came up to:

If we were to go this Sept. or any low season month..the Holiday Inn quoted me €124 for 2 adults and 2 children with breakfast , per night, so that's € 620 . Of course I have to add DLP tickets...I have to figure out the price of those still.

Then I saw in the catalogue that to stay at the HI, booking with DLP, came out to € 1169, making that a difference of € 549...( so, would park tickets come up to €549 for 2 adults and 2 children ???)

After, I read that if you atay at any Disney hotel or Hotel L'elysse Val ' D' Euopre, you can take advantage of the extra magic hours...so,

5 nights would be € 849...( with Tickets..)...

So...if my math is not wrong would it be convenient in this case to stay at the Val D'europe hotel ?

I could book rest . like before, as well as character meals and tea, so the character interaction would still be there .pixiedust:

Like I said...CC is just a dream, and until I win the lottery it will stay that way. I believe that money could be spent like you all said on longer trips or even on a cruise or in all inclusive where you really enjoy the hotel and what it offers.

Sorry this has been so long, but maybe I WILL try and sneak in a trip during the low season for the 15th anniversary.

Thanks again for your honest and sincere comments !! I really appreciate them.
:thumbsup2
