Because Soarin is so new there is not a lot of info on it. I have a 3 & 5 yr old who will be tall enough to ride. Do you think they will like it? They are not daredevils. Do you feel queasy on it? Thanks!

Yes! It's very gentle. My teeny tiny 5 year old who won't go on any other 'big' rides loves this one-talks about it non stop.

I think they will be fine. I am a real whimpy adult and I also tend to get motion sickness and I LOVE Soarin'......it's my favorite attraction now.....

Hi!

Absolutely! My DS9,DS7 & DS4 went on Soarin with us just this past June/July and they totally loved it! :lovestruc Can't wait to get back on it this December :goodvibes

Have a great time and enjoy! :wizard:

My 4 year old went with me on it this past July. He loved it and he's not a very daring child.

It's a very smooth, gentle ride. Be aware you will see warnings in the queue, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. The only 'drops' are small 'sensory' drops, and the turns are just 'sensory' turns (meaning, you don't actually drop or turn, you just feel like the sensation).

We think it's one of Disney's most perfect family rides. Small children and elderly guests alike can fully enjoy it. :)

The warnings are for people like me! I am SUCH a wimp when it comes to heights! I had sweaty palms, heart palpitations and a death-grip on the handrails the entire time! Despite that, I DID enjoy the ride but I had to keep talking myself through my fear. I am hoping that the more I ride it, the easier it will become because it really is a great experience! :flower:

Hi KimR. :) We can certainly understand how some folks with a fear of heights would feel a bit nervous, but the warnings about sudden drops and sharp turns leaves us a bit baffled. The warning signs make Soarin' sound like a 'thrill ride' (of the roller coaster variety), which it certainly isn't.

Did you know you can ask to sit in the 3rd row if you don't want to be up so high? That might help if heights are a concern. :)

Does anybody know what the height requirement is? I'm really hoping that DS3 won't have to be left out on this one!

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

40" is the height requirement for Soarin'

Thanks, YCFAN! Do you think they'd notice if he was wearing a little pair of platform shoes? :teeth:

Actually, I think he's pretty close. Hopefully, he'll grow a couple more inches by November!

I will say that I didn't notice anywhere to measure your child near the ride itself. There was one of those signs out in front of the entrance. There's a seat belt and I really didn't see anything that I thought would make it dangerous as long as the child is old enough to sit by themselves and be buckled in. I don't think they would say anything as long as they're close.

My 3 year old daughter was just 40" and loved the ride.
She even loved Splash Mountain........
I say three, she was 3 yesterday and she rode it three weeks ago.

DD3 who is a hair above 40" loved the ride and asked to do it again. We got a FP and went to use our FP for Test Track. Great simulator that makes you feel llike you are hanggliding over various scenes - sights, sounds, and smells.

Just an idea also - DD3 also loved ToT, Test Track, and Thunder Mountain.

I have ridden Soarin too many times to count at California Adventure and have never heard a kid crying once. You are so mesmermized by the screen you don't really realize you are up that high. Also, the seatbelts can be fastened differently (through a loop) for little riders. They go over that in the preshow. I HATE heights and this ride never bothers me. I always feel very enclosed and safe on this ride.
