Is Soarin' ok for small kids?

Can you Fast Pass Soarin?
Yes, there are fast passes for Soarin'. :flower: Just don't mind the terribly dirty looks you may get from the people who did NOT use a Fast Pass!

Our DS 5 loved Soarin' when we were there in August. He will not ride Splash Mountain at all, so we were glad he liked this one.

The warnings are for people like me! I am SUCH a wimp when it comes to heights! I had sweaty palms, heart palpitations and a death-grip on the handrails the entire time! Despite that, I DID enjoy the ride but I had to keep talking myself through my fear. I am hoping that the more I ride it, the easier it will become because it really is a great experience! :flower:

I was the same way. My husband wished the ride was longer but it was long enough for me. Those sensory type rides bother me unless I have my gravol.

Soarin is just the best ride at WDW. Yes, it is fine for kids. There is nothing about this ride that is jarring or scary to anyone. Even my parents, who are scared of everything loved it.

What is gravol?

I have never heard of it in the U.S., is it prescription or over the counter?

It used to be over the counter but lately it is usually behind the counter. Store brands often call then travel tabs. Here in Ontario "Gravol" is as common as "Tylenol"

Just returned and our DD-10 just loved the ride. We rode it several times. I'm not one for heights, but Soarin is just the most beautiful ride. The ending fireworks scared our DS-6 but loud noises have always bothered him. DD-10 and I agree the front row is truly the best. Dangling shoes take away from the ride. Hope you love it as much as we did!!

it's the active ingredient in Dramamine. I never thought to take it at an amusement park, but will have to give it a try!

I took it every morning that we went to a park. Normally it makes me tired but I think the excitement and the walking kept me from feeling sleepy. The medication lasts about 4 hours so by lunch it had wore off, but that was fine because we didn't do any "thrill" rides after lunch. I don't think I could have done many of the rides without it(even with it I felt a little queazy at times)

2 Hidden Mickeys, that is interesting. I wish I had known that last week. Saying that, I didn't know there was one, it just appeared on about my third ride.
It could be a year or so now before I get to look for the 2nd one. Give me a clue?

Spoiler alert! One is on the golfball that the golfers hit at you, one's in the fireworks at the end...

Would this ride be OK for a kid who doesn't like the 3D movies? My DD4 gets really freaked out by Mickey's Philharmagic when the characters "leap out" or when there is a puff of air or water. The motion and heights would not bother her I think.

That was the best part for me. DS13 almost ended up in my lap trying to duck the golf ball.

The only thing we had a problem with was when the projector broke down. It was pitch black and we were dangling there for a couple of minutes before the lights came on and they brought the seats back down. My DD5 hates the dark and was starting to freak a little bit.

A note from someon who HATES heights:..... as much as you would think that being in the top row (the first row loading) would be the worst because you are up higher, I rode the 3rd row (bottom) for the first time the other day and it was MUCH worse for my fear of heights. In the top row you cannot see where you are because how it is situated, so if you sit back and enjoy the show there is no indication where you are, but in the bottom row if you lean forward, you can see the ground and exactly how high up you are and it freaked me out a little. I had to keep leaning back and not let myself look down.

My 4 year old JUST reached the 40 inch mark and loves this ride.
