Is it "wrong" to wear a birthday pin on more than one day?

Since DD7's birthday is the reason for this trip I've really appreciated reading everyone's replies. Looks like we'll be celebrating all week. :thumbsup2

my crew and i are going to arrive the day before my DNephew's 9th birthday (last year as a 'child', dontcha know), and we'll leave the day after my (dare i say it?) 41st birthday. I can tell you that it does feel special that I'll have my actual day in the MK (lunch at CRT:banana: ), but we're not gonna leave out DBFF and my other DNephew--no way:scared1:
another poster mentioned it...where are the Happy Un-Birthday pins?:rolleyes1

I guess if Disney had any reason to restrict the pin's 'value' to only one day they could write the actual date on the pin when they write your name on it. They don't so they can't think it's a problem.

great point!

Anybody concerned about other people wearing the button on a different day in the same general vicinity of one;s birthday really need to find another thread and provide thier knowledge answering questions.

My DS3 just celebrated his birthday during our trip, he wore the buton every day and loved the interaction - plus it gave him plenty of opportunities to continue to practice his manners in his replies.

Absolutely go for it!

Disney is aware that many - probably most - of the people wearing the pin aren't really wearing it on their birthday. They don't care.

I think they'd be surprised if a person wearing a birthday pin WAS actually wearing it on their birthday. I know I would be.

Wear it all day, every day of the year if you wish. :thumbsup2

I had a Birthday Weekend Extravaganza last September. I was at WDW from Thursday night to Sunday and I wore my pin every day. I got special desserts at my TS meals (Yea! Free Dining!) and lots of Happy Birthdays. Since all the extras were pretty low key, I didn't feel guilty about wearing it all the time.

Personally I feel it's wrong. There's a simple test to see if you should wear a birthday pin, look at the date and see if it's your birthday if it is then wear the pin if it isn't then don't lie and say it is.

I'm curious - what do these pins look like? Do they actually say "TODAY is my birthday?" If not, how is it a lie?

You get the pins at Guest Services.

We go every year around my DD's b-day. She gets the pin and wears it all week. Its her b-day "week" at WDW....we have a great time with it.:goodvibes

I say go for it too! :thumbsup2 I'll be there for my birthday in May, but I'm planning on only wearing the button the day of my birthday. I do not like having attention drawn to myself in most cases; being sung to at an Olive Garden or Outback absolutely mortifies me. :rotfl2: I'm being nagged into wearing it that one day as it is by my friends. If I was more extroverted, I would wear it the whole trip, no bones about it.

Have a fabulous time! :wizard:

I wear mine for the entire time that I am there but it is my b-day week and I have done so for the last few years. Same thing with the anniversary pins, we wore ours for the full stay.

We were there 2 weeks ago and kept running into the same family, the mother was wearing her pin the entire time as well. We saw her at Epcot, the GF tea, at DTD, at MK...it was so funny that a place as large as WDW and you keep seeing the same folks.

They say something like that. Maybe, "It's my birthday!" I don't remember.

I do know that I was under the impression that the person wearing it was having a birthday and I'd say to a kid in line, "Is today your birthday?!" expecting them to maybe grin or be shy or whatever and wish them a Happy Birthday.

But each and every kid looked kind of sheepish and either they or mom would explain that they were celebrating the birthday, but it wasn't really the kid's birthday. So, I'd say, "Well, Happy Belated Birthday" or "How old will you be?" and say I couldn't believe they were going to be six, I thought for sure they be 8 or 9, they looked so old.

I quit asking kids about it, though. It's never really their birthday. I just assume it isn't and don't bother.

I celebrated my birthday the whole week we were there and did the same thing on my dh and i anniversary. there is nothing wrong with it.

On our trip for my DW's brthday we went to get the button on her b-day 3 days after getting there and the CM made me promise that my DW would wear it everyday until we left. She would not give us the button until i promised to make her wear it every day. wear it proud and have fun.

Well, that sounds to me like they WANT you to wear it the whole trip!

We're going inbetween my 40th birthday and our 20th anniversary - the parks one week, the cruise the next. I was thinking that the parks week would be for my birthday and the cruise would be for our anniversary. But DH isn't the DisneyFan that I am, so maybe I'll just make the whole trip be for ME! :cool1: :rotfl2:

or...maybe I'll wear BOTH pins all 2 weeks! :rotfl2:

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour on my birthday and I wore a birthday button. By the end of the tour, I think the CM leading our tour was really tired of my birthday. So many people stopped us along the way, it made it difficult for her to stay on task. :goodvibes

Is Guest Relations the only place, or do the restaurants have them if you note it on the ADR?
Thanks,
Denise (B-Day is 26th, arriving on the 28th..... )

Sometimes the hotels have them as well but I have never heard of the restaurants giving them out.

Seriously?

My daughter is turning 9. We are going to Disney 4 days later. I told her she can get the pin and wear it. Her actual present is going on the Disney Cruise, although she won't know it until we show up at the port. I've told Disney cruiseline about her birthday too! They KNOW her actual birthday and they have no problem bringing her the cake one night.

Does anyone know if the Swan gives out the Birthday buttons? Not being Disney owned I just wondered.:goodvibes
