Is it "wrong" to wear a birthday pin on more than one day?

holy cow! why would ANYONE think it was a problem? I always celebrate a "birthday weekend" at home It is your birthday trip. you are the "birthday girl". wear the pin proudly the whole trip!! have fun and feel special!:woohoo:

My mom's birthday is Dec 30, so going *on* her actual birthday isn't really something we want to do. One year we went from Jan 1-7 to celebrate her birthday, and she got a birthday button on the boat to Epcot when the CM asked "who was celebrating a birthday" (as opposed to "who has a birthday today"). The CM told her to make sure to get one in every park - obviously implying that she'd be celebrating her birthday the entire trip, not just the day of her birthday.

Also, as someone mentioned before, if you tell the CM making your ADRs it's a trip for a birthday or anniversary, they put that notation on *every* ADR, not just one on the day of that event. That also implies that your Disney vacation is meant to celebrate whatever event the *whole* time, not just one day.

my mom's birthday card/cake at Yachtsman - b/c the CM noted her birthday on our ADR

Sounds wonderful and thanks for the pic of that super cute cake. I know I´m probably stressing over nothing but now I start wondering whether my two youngest daughters won´t start feeling left out (they´ll be 3 and 6) if the two older ones get signed cards and cupcakes on various occasions?

Ha, ha, I should probably just let it go and see what happens, right?

We celebrated our son's 13th birthday this past March at WDW. We went in the beginning of March, but his birthday isn't until the end of March. I ordered a gift basket for him and I asked the person making the basket to include the button in the basket. We were not going to have a party back home...the trip to WDW was his gift from us. He proudly displayed is button all week. He got lots of happy birthday wishes from CM and 2 desserts at the TS restaurants we went to during the week. I say...go for it! They don't check DOB and if it is close enough to the actual birthday, I don't see the problem with it.

I have been wondering the same thing :confused3 . We are going in November and that is where we will celebrate my DH's 40th birthday (he will turn 40 7 days after we get home). He doesn't know we will celebrate at WDW.

My current plan (although no ADRs have been made as it is too early) is to take him and our boys to dinner at Whispering Canyon (tell them its his b-day) and give him his gift there. He will be going to do the Richard Petty Driving experience! :cool1:

Ugh! I'm so angry people are getting a free $3 cupcake all week when they only deserve it on the date of their actual birth!

Haha, just kidding. :rotfl: Celebrate the whole week! :thumbsup2
When I get married down there (in the very distant future) I'm going to wear the just married pins. And when I go down for my anniversary, I'm going to wear the pin all week too!

They should have happy unbirthday pins! haha

Have the CM note it on your ADRs when you do make them. When we went for my mom's birthday, she got that cake I showed up there at Yachtsman, a cake and certificate at CRT, a dessert and card at R&C (and they sang, which she HATES, but it's WDW, so she was ok), and from wearing her birthday button, a free brownie at Casey's (the CM just put it on the tray and said "Happy Birthday") and we all got free Fastpasses at Test Track - yeah, this was before the Year of a Million Dreams! Also, of course, bajillions of "Happy Birthday"s from both CMs and other guests.

Of course I'm not saying all these things can/will happen to everyone. ;) But, hey, you never know!! It's Disney after all. pixiedust:

Oops, I didn't realize I was commiting Disney sin when I allowed my son to keep his B-day pin on his lanyard all week.:goodvibes

We went to Disney last year for our very first family trip. My son was 5 at the time and turning six the end of May. Due to the larger Memorial Day crowds - we chose to go the first week of May. But this was his b-day present.

When we checked in they asked if we were celebrating anything. I told them his B-day and they gave him the pin. He wore it all week and it got him a cupcake and card at Crystal Palace and dessert and card at Boma. I think that really is it. The funny thing is that he has Autism and he won't eat the desserts. The cards were cute though.

I don't see the harm. We are going the first week of May this year and yes it is his B-day present again. Because of his Autism he doesn't really play with toys in the typical manor so he doesn't need more that he won't play with. He thrived for the most part in Disney World and we want to see him in all his glory again with Pooh and Friends.

If they ask, I will say the same thing, if they don't - I won't ask for it myself. But if he gets one - yes I will allow him to wear it all week.

We are also taking my mother-in-law with us. She turns 70 today! Hmmmm, maybe I should get her a pin to wear all week too.;)

Who would ever know except for you and the people you're with!?

You have a magical vacation, it is no big deal.I would also like to say welcome to the Dis and say we are glad to see you on the boards.Again it is nice that you would ask others about this,it really is not a big deal, please wear it and have fun.Happy Birthday in advance.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

This is my thoughts to OPs actual question, I haven't read any of the posts. While I don't think guests should wear their buttom every day of their trip, if you havegot ADR's at a special place, but it doesn't fall on your actual birthday, go ahead and wear your buttom to that place and if you want, say my birthday was 2 days ago, but this is our celebratory dinner. You can't always get ADRs on the actual day. I don't think you should wear the button all day that day, though. JMHO

Now, I'll sit back and read the posts popcorn::

It's a 98c birthday pin. That may or may not get you a boatload of Happy Birthdays and maybe ... just maybe.. a 3$ cupcake ...

Go nuts. :)

Disneyland's Birthday celebration lasted for 18 months. I really don't think Disney is going to care if people celebrate theirs for a week.

Disney isn't stupid, hand out a few free cupcakes and you get back a weeks worth of spending from the birthday boy/girl's family. They are hardly going to discourage this.

My bday is in October and every year I declare it as my birthday month, so I say wear the pin your entire stay and celebrate everyday!! :woohoo:

Personally I feel it's wrong. There's a simple test to see if you should wear a birthday pin, look at the date and see if it's your birthday if it is then wear the pin if it isn't then don't lie and say it is.

I'm planning to wear mine all week this June. At least to all my ADR's. It is a double celebration: Birthday and acceptance into grad school, but they don't have a button for that :)

Wear it whenever you want to and enjoy it! You are in WDW celebrating a special event in your life, why shouldn't you celebrate all week?
ENJOY!

Someone else posted this but I completely agree.. If Disneyland can spend 18 months celebrating THEIR birthday.. heck, for that matter, if Disney World can have the "Year of a Million Dreams" = really TWO full years plus 4 months.. then I fail to see why you can't wear a birthday pin for a few extra days.. ;)

My grand-daughter will be turning 1 year old on our September trip which is why we're heading up to WDW! To celebrate!

I'm going to let her wear her pin the whole time we're there + on the car ride home! :goodvibes :wizard:
