Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

I'm glad you had a nice evening... other than the one little meltdown... Let me guess, Wishes in front of the castle is at the top of your list for October? :confused3

What a nice evening (well, except for Liam not wanting to fall asleep after Spectro)! I am glad you got to see Wishes even though the view was not the best!

We had churros in World Showcase's Mexico that were very good! :thumbsup2

The only place I have ever seen Wishes in the park is in front of the Castle, I just can't bring myself to try anywhere else.
I see no reason for you to try anywhere else!

I agree, the churros there are very degross!
I love your new word.:thumbsup2

We DISers have our own language don't we??

How did you guess? I'm going over to MK one night just to see Wishes.

I broke one of the golden rules of the Unofficial Guide....Don't eat in Fantasyland!

Mousekeeping had tucked Snow-Bear and Mickey in for their nap while we were gone.

too cute!

In Fantasyland I spotted a Churro cart. The last time I had a Churro was at Disneyland in 1988 and I remember it being delish. Well this one was far away from being delish. Degross is more like it. Dry and flavorless. I can cross that snack off my list forever.

that is funny....(not your gross Churro) but the first time I have had a Churro was in So Cal too, at the San Diego Zoo I think in '87 or '88 have to ask my Mom if she remembers what yr we were there

I had a Churro from the Mexican Cantina CS in WS, and thought it was OK...

So I walked with Liam down by the water and low and behold I found rocking chairs!!!! If you look on a park map just to the right of the drawing of Thunder Mtn. is a smoking symbol. That’s where these rocking chairs were, under a little roof.

I know that spot....in 08 while waiting on Matt and the twins riding Splash, I needed to find a quiet discreet spot to change a diaper, couldn't get over to the restrooms and did it there.

I think I was trying to re-capture one great fireworks picture that I took years ago….(Scrappie-Do actually has this picture in one of her scrapbooks….cool huh?).

Yes I do....guess your pic is famous now ;)

It had been a long day but a very good day in retrospect.

Glad you had a :thumbsup2 day!!!!!

What is Mousejunkies?

It is a pseudo-guidebook by Bill Burke -- it has a lot of tips in it for new visitors to Walt Disney World which we don't really need. The best part of it though are the anecdotes and stories by the author of his many visits to WDW. I knew I would love the book when I read the line:

"Falling in love with the idea of having my breakfast served by adults making minimum wage dressed as fictional cartoon characters was the farthest thing from my mind when I got on a plane with my wife..."

His chapter about taking his toddler to WDW for the first time had me wiping the tears from my eyes from laughing too hard because it was so spot-on with what we have all experience taking children there.

It would make a great read for your solo trip. :thumbsup2

I love how Mousekeeping arranged Liam's stuffed animals. It's so cute when they do that.

Very sweet of your DH to take Liam so you can watch Wishes! :thumbsup2 Sounds like a good evening overall-except getting trapped by Spectro. :headache:

Thank you for the review!! I've been eying this book the past couple of days....

I can feel the pain of your tired cranky little boy. And the feeling of being stuck! No fun. Thank goodness for those rocking chairs. And I think you took some great fireworks photos! I can't do that well with my camera, I'm always impressed by how well other people's come out. :goodvibes

I didn't realize we were only missing each other by a week! Are you getting excited for Europe??? Say Bon Jour to Mickey for me.

I will say hello to him, my French is not good. :lmao:

The addition is going to be so nice, it is huge. :thumbsup2

great update and pics.

I second that recommendation... Mousejunkies is a very enjoyable book!

Other that the little meltdown, it seemed like a wonderful night! Thank heavens for rocking chairs... glad you discovered them!

The Mousejunkies author is doing a book signing this weekend about an hour from my house....too bad I can't go.

The trick with night photos with a point and shoot camera is to put the camera on top of something....like a trash can. I had mine on a wooden "crate".

What a lovely day! I've never seen the fireworks from anywhere but in front of the castle.
Don't change your location!

Merci!......I mean......Thanks!

Let’s see how close we came.

The weather today was to be warm and rainy. First off we decided to go to the Whispering Canyon Café. But the 8:15am ADR I had was too early for us to make it in time so I called Disney Dining and had it changed to 8:45.

Funny thing happened this morning as we were getting ready…..it’ one of the few things I wrote in my notes because I didn’t want to forget to tell you. Do you remember how the toilets are in the Disney hotel rooms? The seats aren’t complete ovals….they have the piece missing in the front…I guess so you don’t pee on your own toilet seat? :confused3 Well anyways….when the lid in down, the toilet seat sort of forms a little slot. Do you see where this is going? Liam had grabbed my toothbrush in its travel container and before I knew it…..plop! In the toilet went my toothbrush. I had to used Liam’s tiny toothbrush for the next few days. I’m just happy he hadn’t discovered this earlier in the week….who knows what he would have put in there.

Dressed and ready we were off to the WL. No need to valet park here…the parking lot is really close to the front door.

We checked in to WCC and were seated without too much wait. I seem to remember the service being slow but our waitress was pleasant….I think she had too many tables. DH and I both ordered the skillets….I don’t have the receipt…we either got Liam the kids fruit plate or he shared off our skillet. I do remember that the per person price of the skillet was $3 more then the menus on allears.

I don’t remember if this happened before our after our breakfast arrived but they started to do the stick pony thing around the restaurant. I had no idea they did that at breakfast…....I (wrongly) thought that all that stuff just happened at dinner. I scooped Liam out of his high chair so fast I think we looked like Dash when he is running thru the jungle on the island. I made my way thru the now packed waiting area with him and into the grand lobby to wait out the pony rides and commotion. Our waitress had seen me do this, and asked DH what was wrong. He explained about Liam and our waitress came and got me when the pony ride thing was done. And she explained that there is a ramp off to the side of the restaurant so if I had to take him out again it would be easier to go that way. What a nice waitress. Now to the food….I have no food porn so I’ll keep it simple. Our first skillet was cold and the food was “dry”. Our next skillet had hot food and tasted much better then the first. Was it worth $15 per person? I don’t think so. I’d rather do a buffet because it took forever to get each of the skillets. I’m in no hurry to get back to the WCC…maybe for dinner when the kids are older and can get into the action of the place with the ketchup and stuff.

After breakfast we walked around the resort and stopped into the gift shop to poke around. We got Liam an apple juice $2.12 (tax included). We looked for the playground but didn’t find it….I don’t know why we didn’t ask a CM where it was. I have since learned it’s on/near the beach. And that was about it….we headed back to CBR.

Here are some of the pictures I took that morning.

I'm not going to lie.

I moaned out loud when I saw your pictures of the Wilderness Lodge. Is it okay to be homesick for a place you only "live" once every other year? :lmao:

LOL at Liam posting your toothbrush!!!!!!!!!

My DD was scared to go near the toilets as they flush by themselves! or as she says "try to flush my bottom away!!!!"

Heidi....

He was trying to set the toothbrush free like Nemo....:rotfl:

sorry about that....

you TR is not borring...you are just ready to be done w/ this one and move on to Solo-Disney :woohoo:

as always looking forward to more popcorn::
