Is Ellen's Energy Adventure worth 45 mins?

Yes, because my three girls love Ellen. Yes,because my two boys like Bill Nye. Yes,because I love Jamie Lee Curtis. I know, my wife calls me a pig all the time. Yes,because my wife enjoys the time off her feet and out of the heat.

I went on it and 2008 and don't remember hating or loving it. It was fine. Ellen, Bill Nye, and dinosaurs are cool.

But I haven't been on it since. I'm not vehemently opposed to doing it again, but it's never been a priority, even when I took a first-timer last year. I think what I'm trying to say is it's nice to see it at least once if you have time, but you may not feel like you have to go on it every trip after that.

Everything is worth trying once. With that being said, we do this every now and then....definitely not every trip. I think the last time we did it was 2010. My children have never been on it and probably won't until they are older. I don't think my 4 year old would handle such a long ride very well unless she were in serious need of a nap. It definitely does need updating.

Well I think the YouTube video was enough for me! ;) I think we have 3 days planned for EPCOT on this next trip so maybe it will work itself in one day. Thanks for all the opinions.

Since we always go in August, it's a good ride to go on when the afternoon showers hit. Otherwise, it's a great way to cool off and rest for 45 minutes. They only thing I don't enjoy is walking into the dark pre show room. After being out in the bright sun I can't see a thing until my eyes adjust!

We do this ride every trip. The dinosaurs are the best part and make this attraction worth it. (Sit in the lower right vehicle if you want to stay in the dinosaur section the longest, as it becomes the last to move in the line. The lighting also gets better when you're in that vehicle because the sun rises during that scene.) Some of the humor is pretty entertaining, too. It needs updating, and I'm not a fan of the preshow, but all the celebrities are still relevant after all these years.

In July it's worth it for the air conditioning...and maybe a nap.

If your family enjoys Ellen, then they will likely enjoy this....it is worth doing at least once to determine if it is right for your family. We enjoy it, but it's so long, it's really only "worth it" to us if we need the break from heat or walking or just to rest. Not unlike the People Mover....it's not something on our must do, but it's a great relaxer. I do find it interesting enough that I will watch, rather than zone out or nap (unless I'm really tired). There are several youtube videos, some full length, so you can whiz through it and see if it will keep your kids entertained.

I think you gotta see it at least once, but it's definitely not something that you need to do every trip. It needs a major refurbishment.

Like others said, its a nice, relaxing, cool place to get some "downtime" imho - - sometimes its just not practical to go back to the resort for a "nap" or "downtime" so this is where we hit when its very hot, and crowded... I will say we have never experienced a "breakdown" I can't imagine, but like a pp said, you need to make sure you've done the bathroom break before hand! and it never seems like 45 min to me! but I do nap... there are parts of this I have never seen! LOL

(eta - breakdown, I"ve read here on the boards that some people stand up, and try to get off the ride, which causes the "break down")

I'm all for some of the slow, cheesy rides. It's always been the 45 min part that has been the deterrent. We've also never gone during peak season or the heat of the summer. We did hit some cold and rainy weather a few times. I'll keep the ride in mind if that happens again.

we took our first ever trip to Disney in November 2014 and this ride will not be on our itinerary in October 2016...one and done for me

I'm wondering if those that think this is pushing "big oil" have seen it since the last re-do? I recall it talking about all kinds of energy without judging which is better/worse.

Short answer No this ride isn't worth ANY time let alone 45 minutes. That being said, it's a great place to take a break and cool off or rest your feet, that's about all it is good for.
