Is Disneyland or WDW an addiction?

:lmao: My mom and I were having this conversation last night. When we are there in DL we enjoy every single moment of it, but then when we come home we go through this withdrawl, but even after that withdrawl goes away and we get back into the swing of things, all we can talk about is Disney this and disney that, and when do we go back, and whos gonna go with us and where we should stay, what we missed and have to do next time.

Then you get on the computer and you hit disboards or other disney planning sites to see whats new etc. Although you might have come back from your trip 5 days ago you wanna see what you missed :rotfl:

Then you go shopping and if you spot something disney you immediately run to it, pick it up, check it out and see who would want it.

HaHa does anyone else find this? Its too funny, I mean if this is an addiction at least its the kind thats good for ya.

YES! You just described what we've been doing. All the planning for our trip last week, then being there, loving every minute. When we got home last Sunday we went through that withdrawl. LOL Now I'm back to planning and talking about our next trip in October. Just a great big cycle that we go round and round with! :)

LOL I hear ya, Im thinking of going in November, but im not quite sure yet :rotfl2: But the planning has definately started.

It is most definitely an addiction! I can't even watch the commercials because I start to get teary-eyed, I am on the sites every day, and my DS (3) has started too - every morning I hear can we go to DL today?. Oh well - not a bad thing to be addicted to IMO.

sulking about not having a Disney trip planned

Ya get the picture?! :teeth:

We have friends that make fun of us because we go to Disney so often. If it's not WDW, DL, it's DCL. I would LOVE to get dreamed and sent to an international DL.

If you saw the merchandise Tokyo has, you would cry. They have map covers/holders for pete's sake. Every year it's a different them and you can get that year anniversary 6th, 17th, etc. not just big ones.

Hello, I'm mattmommy and I'm a Disney addict.

p.s. We just finished our basement and it's a Walt shrine. How sad are we?

I think it's an addiction too. I mean my trip is 13 months away and I have already got a plan and have had since Christmas!! Before my last Disney trip the children in my class at school (I teach 9 year olds) devised a game for me with my teaching assistant. Each child had a hidden Mickey which they hid around the school, the last one I found I brought a prize back from WDW!! However since then I have had 7 mums in my classroom asking for Disney holiday planning advice!! Every one of them has come back to me thanking me for my help! I now have lots of Disney gifts from families in my classroom! My class joke that if they ever go to WDW they will know their way around because of the Disney pictures that come up on my screen saver on my laptop when it is attached to the interaftive board in my classroom!!

Oooh--I just redid my guest room into Walt's shrine. Good excuse to buy a Disney stock for my DH for Father's Day! ;) (Looks great on the wall!)
But I'm still looking for some decent Mickey bedding--classic Mickey in black/yellow/red/white. I'll find them--as God as my witness!

Me! I'm a disneyaholic. I have ALWAYS loved it but in the last 10 or so years and esp since I had my kids I am a HUGE addict.

I agree if I don't have a trip to plan I am depressed. It could be a year away but at least if I know there IS one then I am happy. I get all stoked about our trip, LOVE being there, am sad that it is over but soon after starting planning the next.

In the meantime we go to the disney store, buy stuff off the website, listen to disney music and go to Disney on Ice. I should own stock! :)

So, totally addictive. I like planning disney vacations almost as much as I like going on them. Whenever family members walk by the computer and see me on the DIS they just shake their heads. Good thing the computer is in a public location of the house. :rotfl:

Every once in a while I'll find myself whistling the Pirates of the Carribean song. I know then that it is time for another Disney vacation. I sometimes wonder if I am weird that I enjoy going so much. Others go frequently to the mountains or beach. Ski or scuba vacations. Mountain climbing or biking. I'm hooked on that smile and laughter that ***es from my children as they are enjoying their vacation. I'll get higher than any illicit drug could possibly take me.

I think I may actually enjoy planning Disney trips (or any trip for that matter) more than I like going on them.

The posters on this thread are just one small step away from truly serious Disney disease. When you're planning the trip after next before you've gone on the next trip, you're either an addict or a good candidate for DVC membership, where you can then plan your trips for the next 20 years with a clean conscience. BTW, the DVC term for this addiction is addonitis.

lol now thats funny. since im gona sign up for dvc ive got the nov trip planed..next dec 27th on cruise, when get back in ssr. a year later (if not combined and did next year) then we will have a family reunion

Mickey bedding? I was looking for a Mickey window curtain for my 1/2 bath and couldn't find one I liked. I already had the Mickey block print (from the 80's) accessories. I bought a new in package material shower curtain that matched, cut it down and put Mickey shower curtain rings (of course) to hold it up.

Have you looked at Disney material at WalMart? They usually have decent prints. You can just make a cover for a plain comforter.

My wife and I are both DL addicts, big time. And now that we have a kid it's even more magical seeing it through their eyes.

I've tried to nail it down a few times as to why it's such a special place for us. At first I thought it was just because we both have such great memories of being there on family vacations as kids. But now I've realized another reason it's so addicting. It's the only place in the world that completely makes you forget about any stress or worry in your life. You can feel like a kid again, without a care in the world. I challenge you to name any substance or drug that can give you that feeling for days at a time without any side effects. :cloud9:

I feel the same way. I'm constantly having Disneyland withdrawals, it's pretty much all I ever think about. On the way home from my last trip, I already began planning my next one. :rotfl: I'm hoping to go back in November. :cutie:

Well one slight side effect. I always seem to be lighter in the wallet after the Disney urge hits.

Hello, I'm Brenda, I'm a Disney-holic.

It's true, if I'm not actively planning a trip I'm not happy. Once I finish a trip I want to start planning another. I like to think ahead of when I'll be able to go back 2 and 3 years from now!

I think coming here helps feed the addiction. Hey, but whatever keeps us happy! :)
