Is Disney now making the plush characters out of a softer material these days?

I collect Disney plushies and I'm noticing now that Disney has now made the plush characters more softer and more huggable and so it tells me that Disney has made the character plushies out of a material that is more softer to make it easier for kids to hug and cuddle. I remember for a time Disney Stores and the parks had their own line of plush characters called Disney Premium Plush and this line of characters was praised for it's soft material. But my mom and I noticed the new softer material when I got my plush Porg for Valentine's Day and Mom was amazed at how soft my Porg was. I also have seen at ShopDisney that they have weighted plush characters and so it makes me think that this is the new style of Disney plushies
Has anyone noticed this with Disney plushies now?
