Is BOG overrated?

I think it is overrated, we had dinner and the food IMO was just OK. Reading other reviews it seems like lunch is the better of the two. I would possibly try lunch in the future but wouldn't go back for dinner.

You don't need an ADR for lunch you just will wait in line at the bridge to get in. It takes about 30 minutes from the end of bridge to order. They say it takes an hour but it never has for me. It goes quickly!

Dinner looks like a disappointment to me but lunch is awesome! I love their strawberry cream cheese cupcake and i love their croque monsieur!! I don't think lunch is over rated at all.

We just had lunch at BOG. After trying to get dinner reservations thru the concierge at BC several times they have us a Fast Pass for lunch. We zipped over the bridge past the long line up to where you order. The rooms are beautiful DD11 was truly impressed as was I. The French onion soup was tasteless. The turkey and roast beef sandwiches were good and very filling. DH enjoyed the roast pork. Cupcakes were ok I had the lemon which I never would have known by the flavor that it was lemon. DD had the strawberry cupcake said it was just ok.
It was an ok dining experienced I would not have waited in the sun for 30 minutes.

We were there in July. While I'm glad that we did, I didn't think the food was outstanding. I had better dinners in other restaurants in Disney.

Oh no, overrated from Dec 9 to 14...oh no! I have three BOG dinner reservations that week.....my daughter is such a big fan she wants to be sure that she gets to eat in each room, lol. If you're struggling to get reservations, don't lose faith....I had just one made at our 180+10 window and then a week later she begs me to get more, of course they're all sold out....so everytime I was on the phone talking I'd be clicking and crossing my fingers.....that's how I got the other two reservations. They weren't there and then suddenly there was a time listed......and you gotta be fast too, because one time I clicked on the 6:40 time and by the time the next page loaded it was gone, I got the information page instead and no amount of clicking would get me anything then "no times available". So have faith...and hopefully you have a lot of friends to call on the phone!

I'm not sure if you caught the other responses to your post, but as others have said, the only rooms used during dinner are the main ballroom and the West Wing. The third room is only open during lunch, so you may want to re-think the last ADR if you were hoping for the third room.

We went for lunch for French Onion Soup and Cupcakes. Loved it.

3 times in a week is high praise! I hope we can get in for lunch but am wondering how the fast pass lunch reservation test will impact wait times...

Didn't even know they were doing that fast pass option.
Yes you'll have to wait but honestly the wait was not that bad and were waiting in the August heat lol they open at 1030, we were online around that time, and waited no more than 20 minutes. With quick service, the ordering at the kiosk is what takes up so much time. I did notice these new magic bands have been an issue is some places. In my opinion, so worth the wait :)

I had lunch at BOG twice last month. Had I gone on my first day, I would have had lunch there EVERY day! The braised pork dish was absolutely FANTASTIC. I can't remember if I had the turkey or ham sandwich on the second day. It was ok but I soooo wished I had gotten the pork again. I'm not sure what all the fuss is over the desserts - they were ok but a little too sweet, IMHO.

Both days I got there around 10:30-10:45 and walked right in for a delicious brunch. :thumbsup2

Agree about the desserts. They were ok. Food was amazing

I am so surprised over the varying reviews on this place. We went last November and loved it! Our food was delicious and our server was the best one we've ever had at Disney. It was really beautiful inside and the picture with beast was cool. I would recommend at least going once.

SO I was thinking of booking BOG for either lunch or dinner in January. I noticed that it's not so easy getting an ADR there - the menu doesn't seem too huge or spectacular, but the ambiance def seems cool. Should I change my plans around for which parks I plan to visit based on being able to dine here or not bother?

I will be travelling with my sis and niece (17) and nephew (14). Thanks

Overrated? No, not to us. The ambiance is so totally different than anything else at Disney. The braised pork at lunch is yummy too. We cancelled our Dinner ressies - didn't think they would be worth it. Have gone there for three trips so far at lunch. Will continue to do so.

We LOVED our dinner there in May! Great ambiance ad the food and service were also very good :). It is a must do for our trip in March!

When we went last week all three rooms were open for dinner. We sat in the one with the "music box" and went and looked at the main ballroom and the other room that the beast trashed.

I've been reading on other forums that they will be opening the third room for dinner soon (and a couple forums say it's already open)....so I guess we'll keep our fingers crossed. We're not going until mid Nov thru mid Dec so plenty of time for them to get that third room open, lol.

Oh yeah! This the first Disboards post I've seen that all three were actually open at dinner. Wonderful to hear.

It has just been on the last month or so, but there have been reports of all rooms being open for dinner.

We were there on a 10 crowd day. We walked up with no reservations at 10:45 a.m. and only waited for 5 min. The food was OK not great. I was with 2 teenage boys so they weren't impressed with the decor! Ha! It won't be a must do for us anymore.
