Worth it? We are AP holders and just got reservations for our Christmas trip. We have been trying since it opened.

It depends on what you mean by "worth it". I went in March and the food was good, the atmosphere was okay, the service was marginal.

The food tasted pretty good, but the desserts were a little lacking. Cupcakes and cream puffs are great for lunch, but it would have been nice if there were a little more elaborate desserts at dinner time.

The atmosphere was a cross between a restaurant and a cafeteria/conference hall. The main ballroom is so large it feels like you're in a cafeteria/conference banquet hall opposed to a table service restaurant. In this way, BOG is better suited for lunch, when the size of the room doesn't detract from the experience. The rooms are the same at both meals (except the Rose Gallery/Library is not open at dinner). I felt more comfortable looking around at lunch (when there is a lot of movement anyway).

In terms of service, our server wasn't really very engaged or attentive. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't good either. He didn't come by very often and definitely had problems figuring out how to serve the desserts.

I would go at least once so you can see for yourself what it's like.

I also have to ask: worth what? Compared to what? We actually really enjoyed both our lunch and dinner there a couple of months ago. Dinner was at a quieter and slower pace than lunch, naturally. We had no complaints at all with the service and found the main ballroom no noisier than a lot of the Disney TS restaurants. We thought the food was well prepared and rate BOG higher than most of the other MK restaurants.

1) it is popular and busy becvause it is new.
2) Not because of excellent food quality.
3) Reminds me of Le Cellier, like Lemmings-to-the-Sea.
4) A few say good, amnd everyone flocks.
5) We were actually part of the Sample Tasting group.
6) This was about 6-months prior to opening.
7) AT THAT TIME, we thought it adequate, but not superior.
8) We still think that way.

Our Ratings of Be Our Guest (lunch / dinner): (rev 4/3/2013)
. . . food price value: B / C
. . . food quality: B / C
. . . food quantity per serving: B / C
. . . food prep speed: B / C
. . . food selection: B / B
. . . seating quantity: A / B
. . . seating comfort: B / B
. . . eatery atmosphere: A / A
. . . eatery convenience: B / B
. . . staff friendliness: B / C
. . . staff attentiveness: C / D
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: The eatery has different food themes than usually found
in a park. Although not "signature" eatery quality, food is good and
tasty. Lunch is QS with no ressies available, and dinner is TS and
ressies are highly advised. The atmosphere is very well done and
probably the most fancy and most themed of any WDW eatery.
As a QS eatery it is one of the best, as a TS eatery it is average.
(For dinner, think:CRT -- good atmosphere, only average food quality.)

Our reviews of menu offerings:
(we think lunch is better than dinner)
LUNCH:
. . . tuna nicoise salad - pretty good, but light on the olives for my taste
. . . croque monsieur sandwich - nice, but Béchamel needs more nutmeg
. . . turkey on a warm baguette - good, especially with the dijon
. . . roast beef sandwich - tasty, but slightly tough
. . . braised pork - recommended
. . . vegetable quiche - wife liked it (real mean don't eat quiche)
DINNER:
. . . pork rack chop - the pasta out-shined the pork
. . . chicken breast - nicely done and recommended
. . . pan-seared salmon - cooked properly, but average taste
. . . grilled strip steak - good, not great, steak
. . . sautéed shrimp and scallops - were only average
. . . oven-baked ratatouille - average

2 of us got steak and liked it. One rattatoule. Not great. Choc cupcake Yum.Grey stuff. Yum! But if on DDP. The desserts are lacking. I mean really a $3.00 cupcake. And not a huge cupcake! Lol! BUT you have to see it at least once! Theming was awesome! Service was very good the night we went. We also went for lunch during a,soft opening and loved it. But the steak sandwich is gone now. :( IMO it is a must at least once. Then you can decide if you want to go back again. It wasnt our best meal ever but it wasnt the worst by a long shot! It wasnt cheap, but where in WDW is? We thought the value was ok. We were not on the DDP. We are going again in Nov. DH wasnt there the first time and he needs to see it!! :)

We ate there May 7th. We had a great meal with wonderful service! Is it the best in wdw? No but it is the best in MK. In our opinions anyway. We are very much looking forward to our return dinner there in Nov.

We didn't care for it. We felt rushed. And I really mean rushed. We asked if we could get up and take pictures and the waitress literally told us that our belongings might not be there when we got back! Not to mention the food was bland. My kids wouldn't eat anything besides the cupcakes and I had to buy them chicken nuggets at Cosmic Rays afterwards. If we went back, it would be for lunch and the cupcakes.

When I said worth it I was asking about all the trouble getting the reservations . My family has been trying since the place opened to get reservations. We got a chance and we took it during our Christmas vacation. We are AP holders and have been to WDW 3 times this year and we are going in Sept and Dec. Every time we have tried we have not been able to get the reservations. That's why I ask if it was worth all the trouble. Thanks for the come backs.

I loved the atmosphere. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie so of course I just loved being in the ballroom and seeing all the details. I also got to see the West Wing and it was equally awesome. Our server was very friendly and nice as well as the person who seated us.

The food though isn't good. And I found the dessert options really disappointing.

I think it's "worth it" in the sense that I wanted to see the inside but didn't want to deal with the mania at lunch time. I went into it expecting the food to be bad.

Sidenote, I also think it's stupid that Belle isn't there with the Beast.

We visited BOG last week for dinner and loved it. Our waitress told us to get up and take pics in the west wing while our appetizers were getting made (we were seating in the main ballroom). The food was excellent. We had the steak and pork chop. It was such an experience. We liked it more than eating at cinderellas castle (we have ate at the castle for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the past). We go to Disney once a year and always do the dxddp so we eat at a lot of restaurants. BOG is certainly now a must for any future Disney trips.
