Irs refund question

If you file by Wednesday and it's accepted by 11am Thursday (through e-file) you should get it the following friday. AS LONG AS nothing is wrong with your return (child support is a huge one...)
Ex: Feb 15th...deposit Feb 25th.
If after Wednesday, you can expect two weeks.
EX: Feb 17th...deposit March 4th.
The reason it says Tuesday, is they post it the "25th" but SOME banks, will hold your money for 1-4 add'l days. So it may not show up in your bank the 25th, but should show up by Tuesday (march 1st) which is why it says that.

(Work for HR Block)

So I am guessing if we haven't received our direct deposit yet and it still says March 1, that we should see it today or tomorrow?

My status still says March 1, 2011....no change at all.....and no money received yet.

If any of you are seeing march 1st 2011. you may want to call the irs. seems 70% have gone to error corrections departments for further scrutinizing. I call this morning and spoke with a very nice person. they are not updating the WMR page or hotline. most of the people that goes to ECD of the IRS will get their refund in 2-3 weeks. however others will need to wait till the middle of april. They will not post a code or anything on the WMR all the time for these. looks like they are looking at home buyer repayment claims, EIC, and students closely this year. From what I was told they got word to look at all returns closely this year due to the national debt and also new software in the error department computers are pulling hundreds of thousands to be checked by hand. no telling when some of us will get them...

They are looking for any thing that can get an audit out. Shame the American tax payer now is being gone after by our government for their wasteful spending. I guess we are the ones that will bail out the unions this time. It almost pays to be an undocumented worker LOL

looks like that family cruise on Disney cruise line will be canceled.

Is it just for ppl still showing march 1 is that why for some who said march 1 and moved to march 8 should those ppl be concerned or should we be ok since they changed ours already?

I guess each person would be differant. My main thought was to let you know, "call the IRS" as they are not updating the real info on the site or hotline...

Mine says not to contact the IRS until March 6 if it is not received by then. Can you call sooner? I am going to check tomorrow morning to see if it is there. Keeping my fingers crossed.

GOOD LUCK! Hope everyone gets their returns quickly!

My E-file company said if filed by 11 am on Thursday I'd have it by the following Friday if direct deposit (think the schedule from the IRS said the same) I did mine at midnight Wednesday 2/2 and it was in the bank on 2/10.

It's a funds transfer so it should go directly into the account from what I was told and from what happened. I use a large interstate bank so not sure if that makes a difference?

Ours still says March 1st as well. We called the IRS and they handed us some BS line about it being put into the file for correction but that we did not need to do anything. We have both the EIC and the homebuyer repayment. Looks like I will be calling back in a few days.

Sounds like the same line my daughter got from them as well, yesterday. EIC, home-buyers repayment and student tuition credit. She is panicked as her summer semester tuition is coming up and will need to pay out of pocket for half. The refund always helps students when the student loans dont cover all of it. they told her once it goes to corrections it takes about six weeks.

If you filed 2/2 then you wouldnt have had the homebuyers, student part or the itemized deduction. The ones that had to wait till 2/14 seem to be the ones being pulled in for scrutiny.

We did not have EIC or homebuyers. We only had the student tuition credit, which we have used in the past and never had any problems. I am really hoping that ours will show up in the next few days.

:confused3...not good. I did the homebuyer repayment..I made my first payment..I wish they would just it's going to a while verses stringing me along.

Just want to say good luck to all of those waiting. I now remember why I stopped coming to the budget boards, and the DIS boards in general.

I called and the March 1 date is an error in our case. Our return was randomly selected for a quality review. I got the company line of check back with us in 3 weeks if you have not heard anything and that the process should be complete in 4 -6 weeks. She referred me to the WMR website that it is updated on a regular basis. Clearly its not right as it still says March 1 and we will not be getting our $ anytime soon.

I am fine with the random checks - they are necessary to keep people honest and I'm not concerned as I have all my ducks in a row, I just wish it wasn't going to take so long. She said it could be 4 - 6 weeks before I hear from them and at that point they could request additional information or just approve it.

Bummed because thought I would have it by Friday at the latest. I would definately recommend calling instead of using WMR.

Seriously? You don't know me, my husband or our financial situation. The majority of the money that is our tax return is OUR money. We are a family of 4, and my husband claims 0. That is our choice, so that we can use it for major purchases. Many people feel that this is giving the government a tax free loan, but that is our choice for OUR money. We are repaying the home buyers tax credit, unlike many others. That is what is holding up the money. We work for a living, and until I had our first child in 2009 I paid over $1,000 in taxes a year due to being a working professional with no children. Don't criticize or belittle me without the facts. I don't care if this is a faceless message board, it is still insulting.

Oh, I thought you had said earlier you take the EIC...
