Those of you that have bought Apple ipods (nano, shuffle) from the apple website did you ever have a problem with them? I saw that the nano's i think are $116 which in the stores they are like $149.99 so that is a great deal but I'm nervous about it not working. Any opinions?

I got a refurbished shuffle & haven't had any problems with it, I highly recommend it!

Bought DS a refurbished Nano for Christmas... no problems. We wish we would have done the same for DD's nano we had bought a year previously and paid full price for!

I purchased three of the 60GB Video iPODS and they all work great. No problems at all.

I bought 2 shuffles for our oldest dd's and a nano for dh. We've had no problems at all. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Got the shuffles for $29 and the nano for $80.

dd got refurb ipod shuffle for christmas. She uses it everyday and no problems.

My ds saved a lot of money by buying a refub from Apple. He got a large video one and it came packaged as brand new. They carry the exact same warranty as a ne unit, so if there is a problem, Apple will take of you. I bought the extended warranty for him with my education discount, just in case there was any problem down the road, but for the video one, I would have gotten the warranty new or refurb.

For the poster who asked where to find the refurbs., on the apple store page, look on the right side a little down on the page for the red banner that has great deals or specials or something like that. You will find refurbs on everything there.

I bought 2 shuffles for my daughter and myself. She uses her CONSTANTLY and I use mine daily and we have had ZERO problems. Go for it! I recommend these refurbished deals all the time.

I got a refurb nano for my daughter's 16th birthday last August. I have since inherited it as she stepped up to a 30gb video. The nano works perfectly.

I bought shuffles for all of us (4 of them) and none have had any problems.

Sorry to hijack but I thought of getting ds (who will be 11 at Xmas time) one for Xmas. I thought about getting him the shuffle they usually have for $29, which is usually the older generation.

Is there a disadvantage to having and older generation ipod?? I figured the older one is a bit bigger, harder for him to loose and such. But don't want to get him one if it will be obsolete.

I have a 60 GB video (godsend for air travel) and have not had any problems with it yet.

The $29 is still very small. It is about the size of a cig.lighter.

We got one for dd and have never had any problems.
