I ended up getting the Target 16 gig for essentially $128 OOP last night. The shopping center was selling 'buy $50, get $10 in GC' this week...so I picked up A LOT (also for upcoming Disney trip as $50 Disney GC). So...that builds in a 17% discount.

$202 with tax at store - 17% discount for using GC-$40 GC = $128.

So...I am sending back my $129 8 gig refurb to Apple

That being said...had I known the deal was live on Target during the day, I would have traded the 17% discount I received in store for the time lost in line at Target that night. I got in and out pretty quickly, but it wasn't pretty.

Those of you who shop black Friday deals are INSANE!!! Most people looked like they were having fun, but one lady started freaking out in front of me. I don't think that I have seen a grown person throw a full fledged tantrum before.

My MIL bought DD the 4th gen from Walmart yesterday. So what are the "must have" accessories for an iPod touch? I'm thinking about getting her some nice earbuds, but what kind? Also, I have an iTunes account for my iPhone - can I just link this iPod to it? If DD has an iTunes gift card, how do you use it to by apps and music since my account is linked to my CC already?

Quick question about 5th generation: My dd9 wants an ipod touch and a radio/alarm clock (iHome) for it. Will the 5th generation work on an iHome since it has a different charger?

I asked the Apple store the same question. Thankfully we do not have to worry about new alarm clocks. Just need an adapter.

I'm getting my DD her own power cord. One that plugs into the wall & her iPod. You would not believe how often she snags my power cord to use in her room. Plus a new iPod case.

Amazon has all of the new colors for the 5th gen and they're currently $284.99.

Wow! I'm sorry I missed that deal. I checked their price at 6 p.m. today and they were $369; just checked them again 10 minutes ago, and the price jumped to $388.

I do not know about the US Store, but the Canadian Apple store has $41 or $48 off for the 64gb 5th gen.

Yes - I got it today and they picked it off the GC rack and rang it up. No one would know you got it for free!!!

I got mine with the $10 bonus GC with every $50 - so I spent $205 and still have $90 in gift cards!!

I'd get ipod a case, a screen protector, and maybe a wall adapter to charge it without computer. A car one might be nice also.

In my store the buy $50 get a $10 gift card was good until 12:00 Noon yesterday. I didn't get to Target until 2:00PM so I got my IPod with the advertised $40.00 gift card.

I was just ordering something else from Amazon and checked on the 5th Generations and see the colored ones are currently $275.00. I already ordered my DS one from the BestBuy BF deal with the 50 gift card and I still made out ahead but I'm also glad because the Slate/Black one is not $275 as the other ones are. If you live in a state that does not charge tax for Amazon - this is a great deal since it saves about $44 off of the retail price when you factor that in.
