IOA/US 2nd best theme park in the world fior 2006!!

According to the Travel Channel show I just watched, Islands of Adventure was voted to be the 2nd best theme park in the world.

I would have to agree it's an amazing park, not only in its attractions but in the entire theming of the place. I'm glad to see it 'came in 2nd'.

Remember that's the category "Thrill Parks".

I think Disney is #1 under the category "Parks for children".

It's a little hard to belive Cedar Point came in that far down the line. With the likes of Millenium Force, Magnum and Top Thrill Dragster, I'd put it well up toward the top.

My understanding is they rate each ride for a THRILL factor then devide it by the total rides in the park to get a number.Theaming gets bonus points.

So with MM having more then 50% coasters then they would score a higher average.

IOA would be high as well but mix in more of the Suess area and it lowers it a bit.

But 2nd out of all the parks is not that bad and well deserved in that catagory.

Wait, I saw this same show and I taped it even, I was a little distracted at the time but I could have sworn that Cedar Point was #1. I def. remember IOA being #2. Cedar Pt. should probably be considered the best park for super coasters, but IOA kills it for the whole theme park experience. CP has little theming, with the park really just featuring their super coasters as all there is to that park. U should definitely have gotten the #1 spot in my opinion, but CP is a good park, probably should have gotten #3 with Dis as #2, and 6-Flags Magic Mtn. #4.
