Internet Service at Hilton Head

I am hoping to get some help from my DIS friends. I am heading down to Disney's Hilton Head Resort this weekend and would like to take my
laptop to be able to access all of the great info on this site about restaurants and such. I called the front desk and they told me that as long as you bring your own laptop they have internet service, and it is just a 35cent charge when you hook up like a phone call. Now, I am wondering if there is a per minute, and also will they provide me with some kind of cord. Have any of you taken your laptops on your trips. Thanks...well, back to packing

Sounds like you'll be in dial-up. Don't you have to have a provider with a local phone number though? I know earthnet does, probably aol as well. Someone else posted about paying a small fee to Hargray (local phone company) once for local access.

Another option is to go to the MellowMushroom Pizza place or Panero Bread and use their free wi-fi access. Neither place is very far from the DVC resort.
