Interesting "policy" about EMH....

DAK parking lot is notorious for not opening early enough to allow AM EMH guests to get to the gates soon enough to get to rope drop ahead of much of the early crowd.

I recommend that for AM EMH at MK and DAK to take the Disney bus.
It can save you some time and headaches.

Thank you, good to know. This may change our plans regarding this. I was just thinking today of doing AK AM EMH, then driving over to DTD for lunch at WPE, then back to the Poly.

Thanks Robo - that is good to know! I was planning pretty much the same thing, but heading straight back to the Poly from DAK. Hopefully, if we're leaving before noon, the buses leaving won't be too crazy.

tks DavidandLeahZ

You're more than welcome.

I asked my wife to guestimate how much time it added and we think about 5 minutes max. Other than that - we always seem to pick the line where someone is trying to use a 1982 Busch Gardens ticket or scan the finger of some beanie baby and holding up the line. But resort ID checking alone - only added five minutes.

In addition - they did check them upon entering all of the attractions - but that went very smoothly.

OK this may be :offtopic: , but I'm just wondering if they are currently doing wristbands for EMH or if they have started doing that show-your-resort-key-at-every-attraction thing that they were trying out last time I was there.

Thanks! :cool1:

Wristbands are no longer in use - now you have to show your resort ID for park & attraction entrance.

We have AP's and we are local, but stayed with my In-Laws at All Stars this last January. We went to EMH in the morning at Epcot, and they never checked our ID and we used our AP's to park (because we get free parking) and we got into the parking lot just fine a little bit before the park opened for EMH.

So at least the morning we went, anyone could have gotten in that morning no matter if they had a resort ID or not.

But if you were staying at the All-Stars, you had a resort parking permit on your dashboard that showed you were a resort guest when you pulled into the parking lot.

GOING to Early Extra Magic Hours would require getting there Early... Not my idea of vacation!:rotfl2: :happytv: :lmao:

In all of our years of going we've never seen a rope drop :goodvibes

They got rid of the wristbands and are checking resort keys for each person at each attraction.

No we didn't actually, we drove a different car than my In-Laws, we had went back to our house that morning and took our car, and our car didn't have the hotel permit.

Last June at MK's EEM they checked the ID at the Monorail at TTC. Only the resort Monorail was running and at the TTC we were asked to show our resort key before entering the line. Everyone who did not have an ID were directed to the boats or the express monorail
Other guests would arrive by resort buses so they would not have to be checked. .

Same thing happeded to us,,we got checked in the am,

17 trips and counting... usually 8 day trips. I've seen rope drop once, but only at AK, and it was from a distance as we were approaching!;) :rotfl2:

Actually, on our May trip *MUST DO LIST* is to see rope drop at each park. My DW has made it crystal clear that she wants to see it this trip. We've read reports about it, and it's a must! Right up there with seeing the Legendary Years at POP, and "noticing" the TOT behind Morocco from Mexico in Epcot. (from another thread)

Its gonna be tough!:lmao: We're not morning people. I actually envy you morning people.

It's on our must do list also, and it has been for 3 trips now. Since then we've only seen HS and AK, but we've been to evening EMH for every park tons of times.

We are going to try and make RD at MK at least once. So you guys are recommending taking the bus to do EMH in MK ? Does anyone know how early the bus runs ? We were going to avoid taking buses at all but I want to ensure that we truly can take advantage of EMH.

I believe they start one hour prior. This is true for regular hours but I am not 100% certain about EMH.

The buses begin running every day about 6:40am, or so, from all resorts to all parks.

If MK is open at 7am for AM EMH at certain times of year, the buses begin even earlier.
