Interesting conversation with CM on WDW Chat!!!!

Apparently, there's some new promotion coming out soon for the general public. I called just a few minutes ago to see if I had a pin code attached to my name. The castmember said that there was no pin code but that I could take advantage of the "new promotion". He confirmed our travel dates of May 22 to June 1, 2013 and gave me a quote. Problem is, the quote is only about $64.00 less than rack rate so I'm not sure what the "new promotion" really is. I told him that I'd think about it and what did I need to ask for when I called back....was there a three digit/number code or anything and he said just say "new promotion".

I quoted myself as it was easier than going back and editing the post. I decided to call back to get clarification on the quote I was given. This castmember said that there were no "new promotions" other than what is on the site. When I insisted that I was given a quote for my travel dates, she got a little bit rude but then said "let me talk with guest services". She came back after a little while and said that the person should not have given me any quote because it would not have been accurate since the promotion was not yet in the system. She then put me back on hold and said that she would talk with Guest Services to get an exact date for me to call back. I held for quite a long time before she came back. She told me to call back on October 10th as soon as the phones opened for the day. I asked if it would cover my dates and she said yes. (the phone call lasted 17 minutes and 13 seconds)

ok,I just called about pins or discounts. Nothing attached to my name except for room only discount that ends Dec 22. I asked about January discounts and was told to call back in about a week or so. She said they are not told ahead but something is coming up!!

:thumbsup2sound like it may be soon!:crazy2:I will go nuts by then.

Did she say what the promotion was by chance

The second castmember that I spoke with said that the previous castmember should not have given me any information or a quote since they weren't supposed to give specifics and the quote wouldn't be correct. But, because I was told to call back this evening if I wanted to book, this castmember went to great lengths to give me a date to call.

Based on your dates you are going - you would only be available for the discount on the 22nd...correct? If the rumored dates are true.

So the $64 would be off of one day...

I am not sure as she said that my dates would be covered under the "new promotion". The room cost for that night would be $188. 20% would be $37.60; 25% would be $47.00; 30% would be $56.40; 35% would be $65.80. In previous years (and from my personal experience), if you book before the last travel date of the offer, then you got that % off for the entire trip. For Example: The promotion covers January 5th (just making that day up) through May 22 (our actual arrival date) and our vacation starts that day but continues on for 9 more days, I'd still get the offer for the remainder of my stay. But, who knows, Disney may change things up.

**She didnt' say that this was a pin code but rather a "new promotion". **Edited: The actual price difference between the price quoted and rack rate was $63.46

Where's Tink when you need her?

Here's a bunch of pixie dust for tomorrow pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Earlier today there was an offer shown on the Disney Reservation page at the very bottom right of the screen. It was a green box with a young Simba shown...the wording was "Hurry its Free - Act soon to satisfy your appetite for fun with this delicious deal" (That sounds to me like food is involved....) But when you clicked on the offer it gave you information for the Save up to 30% on stays promotion. (I made a copy of the screen and saved it,) Hopefully it will be a dining offer that will make some people very happy. pixiedust:

I'm hesitant to even post this because I know it's stretching...so take it exactly for what it's worth...basically nothing! But, I finally broke down at about 9:30 tonight and thought I'd call and see if I have a PIN associated with our household. I knew the chances were about .001% because I've already booked a trip and I just got a PIN about a month ago that was good through 12/22 (I need one for Jan though). So what are the odds I'd really have a PIN? Being a good Disney fanatic, I called anyway ;)

Well, you know how when you get put on hold it alternates between a message and a song. Right as it rolled me over to the hold system I caught the tail end of a message that basically said 'take advantage of this offer when the weather is cooler and the crowds are lower.' Then the music started! So of course I'm trying to figure out what offer it was talking about because while it's cooler in December I don't think they'd sell that as 'lower crowds' - would they? My thinking is that for late 2012 discounts they'd sell it as enjoying the holiday season and early 2013 as the low crowd season. I was on hold for at least 10 minutes and the message never replayed but I was hoping it would be something about early 2013 discounts when crowds really are lower!!

Please refer back to my first paragraph that I know this is a stretch and nothing should be read into it...but I'm hoping it's a hint of what's to come tomorrow!!!

Full disclosure - when I talked to the CM she did not hint anything about any discounts being offered at any specific time.

The website has done that a couple of times since Sunday. Drives me bonkers! It is the link pic they use for FD and I get so excited and click on it and then it's that darn 30% off for up through December! HA!

Hopefully they are just getting it warmed up for tomorrow!

When exactly is "tomorrow?" I mean, what time on the east coast? It will be midnight soon but I never seem to see anything new pop up at midnight, unfortunately. :( The suspense is driving me nuts too!! Whatever promo they release for Feb makes all the difference in what our vacation plans wind up being.

Normally, they upgrade the system around 2-4am Eastern time. So usually anything shows up it will early morning Eastern time.

My little countdown thingy flips over at 2AM central - wish I didn't know that but I can't stop watching it! I wanna go now!

Please tell me I'm not the only one hitting refresh over and over some on the WDW home page and the special offers page! I've done this since Saturday night! I'm soooooo ready to be done with this! Pretty sure I'm certifiable at this point!! :rotfl2:

No, you are not the only one! I am refreshing both in Google chrome and Firefox! My DH is starting to look at me funny....

there are so many people just wanting to give disney money that you think they would have people patrolling boards like these and see how much money they are about to lose if they don't release something. europe has know for 2 months whats going on next year. i know several people that are about to take thousands of dollars and spend on a vacation elsewhere instead of with disney because they are tired of waiting and don't want to pay full price. so come on disney wake up

I will agree with this. I, myself, have already looked into going to Discovery Cove (non-dolphin) with the ultimate ticket that includes Aquatica, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens and the tickets would be HALF of what Disney will be, plus I would stay off-site at a much cheaper hotel (going ten days before Easter). I just want to have something concrete in place.
