Hey There! I thought i would join in because I wanted to let you know that i am borrowing some of your saving ideas. I hope that's ok. As a single parent by budget is tight. I love Swagbucks! I use them to get amazon giftcards to buy my books for school in the past! OOO let me tell you! Target is bad BUT IN A GOOD WAY! I love me some target too. They get you because they always have those clearance end caps and stuff. It is more dangerous this month because i just moved and they have so much home stuff on sale. I got a mickey shower curtain that was 20 for 5 dollars!

Hey there! Feel free! I'm not a total savings diva, but I really want to be! I love, love, love Target! We were just there this AM. I bought a cartful of stuff, spent $32 (saved $27 with coupons and sales!). I try to catch stuff after it goes "double hard marked" on clearance - today I got bottles of Head and Shoulders (only thing DH will use) for 48cents a bottle!!! I got 5 of them, lol! I also got PB the new Tinkerbell movie that she's freaking out about.

Wow! That is target for you and what i like best is you can use a target coupon and manufactorer coupon together on the same item! I would do that and get pullups while they offered a 5 dollar gift card when you buy 2!

Por and pofq...are they sister resorts ?

Yes they are! That's what I like so much. FQ is like being in the "city" of New Orleans....POR is like the Louisiana countryside. The are very close and walking between the two resorts is very easy. Plus when you are staying at one of them, you can use the facilities of the other anytime. We stayed at POFQ in July and ate at POR's food court, used their pool, surrey bikes....and the refillable mugs are interchangeable too. With the two different sides (Bayou and Manors) of POR, it feels like there are 3 totally different resorts all in one!

PS...can you tell I love that place :rolleyes2

Those surrey bikes are what sold me on POR! I so want to rent one of those, and I don't even know why! :rotfl:

My mom and step-dad officially paid their deposit to David's for their AKL villa. We haven't done ours yet (because I'm a total slacker :headache:). And also because I had to pay for PB's new competition leo for gymnastics, as well as Jelly's soccer registration.

Speaking of which (totally not DIS related :scared:), Jelly had his first soccer game today! There's large indoor sports (read: soccer) facility near us that does a 'winter league' for the littles. Jelly wasn't old enough to play for our local league (doesn't start til 4; he won't be 4 until February), but the indoor league starts at 3.5, so we signed him up! He LOOOOVVVVVVVVVVED it. He was very mad when his time was up. Soccer reigns supreme in our area - it's not uncommon for kids to be on 3 or 4 different teams in different leagues, 4-5 days a week, travelling, etc. PB was SO not into soccer, but Jelly is much more physical in nature. So that's what I'm up to.

We pre-ordered Secret of the Wings, and finally were able to watch it last night. SUPER cute, ya'll. Tinkerbell is PB's big "thing" (seriously not really into princesses, though I'm trying to get her at least acquainted before our trip). I think Periwinkle would make a KILLER costume, but she has short hair, and while MY hair would work, PB's is way too thin for teasing into that style. Drat ;)

I also officially have about 90% of my Christmas shopping done (Jelly is totally done, PB needs to decide what "Santa" is bringing her and then she's done. (PB doesn't actually "believe" in Santa, but that's a whole 'nother story there). Jelly decided he wants a 'big boy bike" for Christmas, and Amazon came through (thanks to the Couponing to Disney blog, who alerted me to a killer deal on a 12" Huffy bike for $34! Totally free with my Swagbucks cards ;) ) and is delivering today.

I also got my paper chain all printed out (there's a thread on here somewhere and the OP emails you the PDF). I think that'll be a fun activity tomorrow since it's supposed to start raining this afternoon and never stop  Once it's all put together I'll be sure to post a pic.

Jelly looks so cute in the football outfit.

Enjoy POR. It is a lovely resort. Nice and green and lots of chill-ax places. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed that by the 'river' feeling when we got up in the morning. I requested the AB section; but we ended up in Magnolia Terrace and that was really nice too.

What an awesome deal on the Christmas items... We are not very far into our Christmas shopping yet... We know what our girls want - one is purchased, the other one will probably be purchased this week... Then we have all our extended family to do yet... My neighbor and I will be braving the MOA the Sat after TG - ACK!

My girls are teens - and what they want is expensive stuff... However, we are of the mindset (after many years of learning) - we would rather spend a lot of $$ on one big item that they really want, vs. a lot of $$ on a bunch of little items that they don't really want - which is a total waste.

I wish I could coupon/swag bucks my girls' wish list items - that would be awesome, but unfortunately, I don't think it would work?

Great deal on the bike! Jelly will love it!

And I love the photo - how cute!

Depending on what they want... All my swag bucks get transferred into Amazon gift cards, so I get a lot of stuff I would be buying anyway through Amazon (I have PRIME, do free shipping).

I got DH a Keurig that he's been asking for YEARS (I posted on the Christmas deals or something thread on the Budget board about it). Got the Special Edition for around $60 after rebates and Kohls cash and all that.

Part of our family is exchanging Christmas gifts at Thanksgiving, so I need to get my mom a new Pandora charm (NEVER deals on those) and something for the cousins (they're all almost teens, so I think I'll do a cute "moneybags" thing I saw on Pinterest rather than just buy a gift card for them each).

I have picked up a few things for DS5 for Christmas and will probably get the bulk of his gifts on Black Friday! YEP...I'm one of those crazy :crazy2: Black Friday peeps! :lmao:

OK...sorry if I'm threadjacking here, but I have to pose a question:

Is it just me, or are 5-6 year old boys HARD to buy for? It's kind of an awkward age...too old for toddler stuff, but too young for lots of the other little boys toys. AHHHHHHHH!

Lego is great for boys this age. As is books. My DS loved the Magic Treehouse series.

We held off for a couple more years on the handheld game machines.

(Back to regular planning programming now).

Just stopping by to wish you a Happy Halloween!

Oh, they were so much fun. Kinda weird to get used to how they work...the brake is up top kind of like the old column shifters :confused3 I let my cousin "drive" it and I was on the right "passengers" side helping. I would like to try them again, but it would be very hard with a child because there is really no where for him to sit. The seats are like a bike seat with only the front handlebars for him to hold on. The very front has a toddler sized seat, but he might be too big for that. Anyway....I think you should try the surrey bikes...they are great!

I LOVE Black Friday! But I'm even crazier in that I love WORKING on Black Friday. So much that I got a job back in retail (I know, I am totally certifiable:p)

I second Legos! Everyone loves Legos (except when you step on them :headache:). Funny about Magic Tree House, everyone always recommends them for PB since she's a crazy-mega reader. She LOATHES MTH. :confused3 No idea, but she won't even look at them, let alone open one, and shoves them behind her bookshelf. I totally don't get it. Of course, I had bought her a whole set a year or so back... Maybe Jelly will like them eventually.

Just stopping by to wish you a Happy Halloween!

D~

Thanks! We haven't technically celebrated Halloween yet. Thanks to Sandy :mad::mad: our Trick-or-Treat is rescheduled for Saturday. Of course, I have a huge wedding to go to, so DH will go out with the kids and their friends. Can't believe I'm going to miss it! Boo. (pun intended)

On Disney news, I think I found PB a parasol for the parks! Isn't it cute? I'll have to get it in the summer maybe to test it out and see if she can handle it without poking someone's eye out or driving me mad with it. But how cute!

I also found my lovely but not Mr-Incredible shaped DH a costume for MNSSHP. BWHAAHAHAHHAHAAH! :rotfl2::rotfl: :rotfl2: Why yes, he must wear this. It is decided. Now, what to bribe him with???;)

That parasol is so cute!!! OMGoodness...promise to take pictures if you get your DH to wear that costume!!! :lmao: I have a big job of buttering up to do myself...I need my DH to wear a neckerchief for his costume next year at WDW! :rotfl2:

For some reason your quote disappeard from my quotes... :confused3

Seriously - if you can get your DH to wear that costume... I will :worship: to you!!!

And that parasol is adorable! :lovestruc

D~

The parasol is adorable and the Mr. Incredible costume is great! If you are able to get him to wear that then you definitely get "Wife of the Year Award" :lmao:

DBF and I have decided to skip MNSSHP since we went last year and we will be sans kiddo. Probably hit up F&WF instead! :drinking1

Love the parasol and I think she will have less of a chance poking people's eyes out because the edges curve down quite a bit. I would still poke people, but that's just because it would get them out of my way :lmao:

Sorry I've been super MIA! I've been completely overwhelmed with life, I think, the past fee weeks. Done very little Disney-related stuff as I'm focusing on Christmas and cards and calendars, etcetcetc.

I officially started my Old Navy job, and it's so much fun! I got my first little paycheck yesterday ($100) going directly into the Disney fund :yay: I'm only available 1-2 days a week with other commitments, so I think thats pretty good. With Black Friday, the next check should be awesome, since I worked 8 hours yesterday and do another 8 today. It's crazy how easily I slip back into "retail mode." I totally miss it like crazy but NO WAY I could ever go back for real. I'm having fun being a part-timer!

PB and I also got to go to the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastic Champions last week-ish. We had a front-row seat (in a corner) right next to the 'tunnel' so we were able to wave and yell at all her idols. Mckayla Maroney waved right at her and yelled "love you" when she and her little friend (who she just met- girl makes friends wherever she goes) were screaming their bloody heads off at her. I thought she was going to faint.

My mom and step-dad visited for Thanksgiving and we exchanged Christmas gifts since they won't be up then (visiting his side of the family this year). My lovely mother bought Jelly the world's most obnoxiously loud megaphone-like voice changer. I think DH is homicidal over it, lol.

What else? I need to update more often I think. PB is officially being tested for gifted in the next month or so- their district does testing at the end of first grade but since she got accepted into the gifted program by the teacher at the beginning of the year (just based on being... her) so during our conference a couple weeks ago she said we might as well do the formal testing now rather than wait until the end of the year. Luckily, we don't need a GIEP to lean on, since our little school is awesome and she already has 3-4 accommodations that I've asked for. Her teacher this year is just awesome and knows how to push her and help her grow.

Finally... Disney news! My mom and step dad are officially at AKV - it was 11months on the 21st, and they got confirmation yesterday. YAY!!!!! After my ADRs, that was one of the biggest "up in the air" worries. I'm SO glad it's taken care of now.

I also have a pic of our Looooooooong countdown chain (329 days today!). I have to upload on a real computer though, I think.
